About Bamboo Bistro Westgate

Welcome to Bamboo Bistro Westgate, a Chinese Restaurant located at 6818 West Gate Blvd, Austin, TX 78745. As a Chinese Restaurant, we strive to offer delicious dishes with generous portions to satisfy your cravings.

Customers have raved about our orange chicken, with one reviewer stating it is the best they have ever had, even surpassing that of many sit-down Chinese restaurants they've experienced over the years. Our appetizers have also received positive feedback, particularly the shrimp, which is noted for its delightful fluffy texture.

While the General TSO remains a popular and reliable choice, customers have also enjoyed our more unique offerings like the basil wings, described as interesting and savory. The Shanghai Beef is another featured dish, with one reviewer finding the beef a bit tough but praising its excellent sauce. This variety suggests a menu with both familiar favorites and more adventurous options.

A notable feature of Bamboo Bistro Westgate is the generous portion sizes. Customers who are light eaters may want to consider ordering less or be prepared to take leftovers home, making it a great value for those with a larger appetite.

Overall, Bamboo Bistro Westgate seems to be a Chinese Restaurant that focuses on delivering flavorful food with satisfying portions. If you're in the mood for exceptional orange chicken or are looking to explore other tasty dishes, we invite you to visit us. Literally the best orange chicken I have ever had. Better than any sit down restaurant Chinese food I’ve had in AGES. Like since I was a kid back in Seattle.

The appetizers were yummy (especially the shrimp, it had a fluffy texture to it). The General TSO is my usual safe choice but we had the basil wings as well (very interesting + savory) and Shanghai Beef (a bit tough in my opinion but the sauce was very good). Portions are pretty big, if you are a light eater then I would recommend to not order much or be prepared to take some to go.

I got sick eating this food. I ordered wings, soup, egg rolls, beef/broccoli, chicken teriyaki and combo with noodles. The wings were under cook. The beef tasted old along with that questionable grayish color chicken. The shrimp could been cooked a couple mins longer also. The soup was good. Everything else had no taste and was not fully cooked. They also have no prices on menu and provided no receipt. It was my first and last time at this place.

If you start to miss poor quality food on economy class flight, come here. All these for 36, and heavily salted. The server repeat different orders back to me every time, and successfully missed part of my order. What’s more? there’s extra 6$ for late night orders that you won’t see anywhere else. LOL

The staff is friendly and helpful. The food comes out very quickly so order one course at a time if you don’t want it all at once. The food is okay. The hot and sour soup was my favorite.
