Situated in the heart of the San Gabriel Valley (SGV), Baccali offers a casual dining experience that has become a go-to for many locals seeking a satisfying lunch or meal. You can reach them at (626) 293-3300 or +1 626-293-3300 for inquiries or to plan your visit.

Based on customer reviews, Baccali Cafe & Rotisserie tends to be particularly busy during weekend lunch hours. If you're looking for a more relaxed atmosphere with a higher chance of finding open tables, it's advisable to visit after 1:00 PM. The bustling environment during peak times contributes to a lively, albeit potentially loud, ambiance, which is not uncommon for Chinese restaurants in the SGV known for their casual and family-friendly setting. This energetic atmosphere is part of the overall dining experience at Baccali.

While the majority of the feedback regarding the food is positive, one recurring concern mentioned by a reviewer is the cleanliness of the utensils. This is a critical aspect for any dining establishment, and potential patrons should be aware of this feedback. It's worth noting that this was one specific point raised amidst generally positive comments about the food itself.

On the positive side, several reviewers highlight the speed of service, especially when the restaurant is not overly crowded. If you're looking for a quick and efficient meal, Baccali Cafe & Rotisserie seems capable of delivering, provided it's not during their peak busy hours. This efficiency can be particularly appealing for lunchtime diners or those with time constraints.

The menu at Baccali Cafe & Rotisserie appears to offer a diverse range of dishes, catering to various tastes. Specific items praised by customers include the stir-fry broccoli with garlic, which is described as "tasty." Interestingly, the menu also features items that blend Chinese and Western influences, such as the baked chicken with tomato sauce pasta and the chicken steak pasta with mushroom sauce, both also noted as "tasty." This fusion approach might be a unique feature of Baccali, appealing to a broader palate.

For those seeking more traditional Chinese fare, the curry chicken with rice is mentioned as "tasty," although one reviewer noted that the portion size was somewhat small. The fried rice is another dish that received positive feedback for its taste. Additionally, a reviewer specifically enjoyed the cream soup with corn and ham, suggesting that Baccali might also offer comforting and flavorful soup options.

Parking at Baccali Cafe & Rotisserie has mixed reviews. While they do have their own parking lot, it is described as small, and finding a spot can sometimes be challenging, especially during busy periods. Customers have also noted that the parking lot can become tight if cars are not parked correctly. However, an alternative is the availability of free parking along the small street adjacent to the restaurant or on Valley Boulevard itself, providing additional options for those driving to Baccali.

The restrooms at Baccali Cafe & Rotisserie are described as "decent and well ventilated," which is a positive aspect contributing to the overall comfort of the dining experience. Clean and well-maintained restrooms are often an indicator of a restaurant's attention to hygiene and customer satisfaction.

One loyal customer stated that "Baccali is now a go-to restaurant for me," emphasizing their overall positive experience. This reviewer particularly highlighted the generous portion sizes, noting that while the prices might be slightly higher, the leftovers often provide for a "great meal the next day." This suggests that Baccali offers good value for money in terms of the quantity of food served.

In summary, Baccali Cafe & Rotisserie in Alhambra offers a casual Chinese restaurant experience with a diverse menu featuring both traditional and fusion dishes. While it can get busy and loud, especially during weekend lunch hours, the service is generally quick when not overly crowded. Customers have praised the taste of various dishes, including stir-fries, pasta options, and fried rice, and appreciate the larger portion sizes that often lead to leftovers. Parking can be a bit challenging in their small lot, but street parking is available. While one reviewer noted concerns about utensil cleanliness, the overall sentiment suggests that Baccali is a popular local spot for a satisfying and hearty meal.

Came for lunch again with fam. This is always busy during weekend lunch time but if you go after 1p you’re more likely to have open tables. It can loud when it’s busy here but given how casual it is, you’d expect it from a Chinese restaurant in SGV. (-) Staff is running and to get something you must always flag them down / my biggest YUCK point is that the utensils are not very clean :( (+) Food comes out very quickly if not that busy. - Stir fry Broccoli with garlic - tasty - baked chicken with tomato sauce pasta - tasty - curry chicken & rice - tasty but small portion - chicken steak pasta with mushroom sauce - tasty - fried rice - tasty Parking - small lot but you can park along the small street or on Valley for free Restrooms - decent and well ventilated

Baccali is now a go-to restaurant for me. They have good food. Though the prices are higher, the portion sizes are bigger. Almost always I have leftovers that make for a great meal the next day. They have their own parking lot, but sometimes it's hard to find a spot. It can get tight when cars don't park correctly. Service is good. I really liked the cream soup with corn and ham. Parking: Free parking, but finding an actual spot can be a nightmare. They have a small parking lot. We usually parallel park on the streets and walk over. Ambiance/Environment: They have a large space. Really great for bigger groups. I've only ever visited with my family, so we always dine for a party of 10+. Walking in, you can either place an order to go via the kiosk or dine in by checking in at the podium. There'll most likely be a wait time for dining in. Service: Service really needs to improve. I wasn't expecting service to be top notch from restaurants like this, so I wasn't surprised. Our server never checked on us. It's really difficult to wave a server down. If you'd like a refill, make sure you ask. What I ate: They have a very large menu. Majority of their dishes come with vegetables with your choice of protein, choice of rice or noodles, and choice of sauce served in a gravy boat. It is Hong Kong style, so expect large portions and come with an appetite. I ordered the Filet Mignon, medium rare, with Korean sauce and rice. The Korean sauce wasn't too sweet and actually flavorful. The vegetables and rice were cooked well. The Filet Mignon was a bit chewy, but still decent. Pricing: Prices are average nowadays. My dish was $16.95, and we dined for a family of 10+ so our total was over $220 before tip. I'd say it's worth it because their portions are large; one dish can easily be shared. They have free unlimited refills for drinks. But don't expect great service.

Went there for breakfast with friends. Chinese breakfast is a little different than what I'm used to, so it took some getting used to being served salad with my eggs. I got chicken fried steak with eggs, toast, and salad? I'm not a fan of getting breakfast mixed up with other meals unless it brunch. Take was really sticky. Tried porage for the first time, really liked it!

Typical Hong Kong/Western Cafe. Food is pretty good comparing to other nearby cafes. Service is actually not bad. Interestingly enough, the pasta that they serve is quite tasty. You can order a side of it & it's $1.50. Not bad at all & the portion is pretty good. Lots of combinations to choose from.
