Had a craving for dry pot and walked by this restaurant- we ordered the Mala dry pot & loved it. There was a mix of chicken, tofu, shrimp, and beef as well as a bevy of vegetables and garnishes. The portions were larger than we expected and we even took some leftovers home Would recommend- the price was reasonable given the location of the restaurant

Lovely neighborhood store where there’s generally seats without much fuss. We visit very frequently, and Auntie Guan’s has become comfortable food for my wife. No frills decor but absolutely delicious food. Hits the spot every time. Taste tends to be more mild than southern Chinese food, making it very comforting to eat. Recommended dish: - Old Style Crispy Pork In sweet sour sauce (guobarou) highly recommended - Sauteed Potato,Green Pepper Eggplant (disanxian) - so difficult to make it right but they deliver it consistently - Pork W.Pickled Cabbage (if you like sour pickled cabbage) - Zha Jiang Mian (noodles with savory soybean sauce) - served cold - Crispy Fish W.Cumin And Chili (fish is fried perfectly and cumin tastes great) - Sweet & Sour Squirrel Mandarin Fish (don’t get alarmed by the name- squirrel is just how the fish is supposed to be carved and decorated) - Griddle Cooked Organic Cauliflower - Chinese Cabbage, Tofu & Rib (dàbáicài dùn dòufu (páigǔ) - super home style stew food. The pork rib (paigu) tastes amazing - Braised pork w vermicili (Hong shao rou fen) - All in one pot - Scrambled Egg, Wood Ear Mushroom Wrapped w. Thin Pancake (Chun Bing He Cai) (can be found under dumpling section) - Chinese Leek Turnover - Any dumplings (shui jiao / jiao zi) - (Don’t order the xiaolongbao / soup dumpling here. Instead other dumplings taste like hand made and so much better)

This restaurant offering Northeastern Chinese, Liaoning cuisine provides an authentic and delightful experience. The Old Style Crispy Pork is very sincerely cooked with a crispy thin batter, perhaps the best I have had in the NYC area. The Handmade Steamed Dumplings are flavorful and freshly made. The stir-fried shredded potatoes could use a bit of improvement in flavor; freshly cooked chili oil might help. The eggplant in the Sautéed Potato, Green Pepper, and Eggplant is cooked to perfection, requiring a good understanding of timing, which they did well. A slightly larger portion would make this dish even more authentic. I had read some negative reviews before going, but I find the service very comfortable. The staff is available just when needed without being overbearing. Overall, it is a great place that I will return to for their Liaoning-style dishes.

Nobody does Dongbei food quite as good as Auntie Guan in the US. Ever time I've visited nyc since moving to the west coast, I make time to eat here. I almost took off a star this time because I needed to chug water the next morning. STILL WORTH IT THOUGH! Give me sour cabbage everything thanks!!!
