About Auction Chinese Food
Welcome to Auction Chinese Food, a Chinese restaurant located at 807 W Valley Blvd in Colton, California. For years, this establishment has served the local community, and for some, it was considered a favorite spot for Chinese cuisine. However, recent feedback suggests significant changes that potential customers should be aware of when considering this dining option within the Chinese Restaurant category.
According to a long-time customer, Auction Chinese Food was once a highly regarded establishment under its original ownership. This reviewer fondly recalls the restaurant's consistently good and crispy-crunchy chicken and a particularly thick and golden Chow Mein, which they considered among the best they had ever tasted. The portions were also noted to be generous, with the original owner reportedly packing takeout boxes until they were nearly overflowing. This history suggests a period of high customer satisfaction and quality.
However, recent reviews indicate a noticeable decline in the quality of food and service, coinciding with a change in management. The long-time customer who had previously favored Auction Chinese Food reported a drastically different experience during a recent visit. They noted that the food, including the chicken, now had a mushy texture, a stark contrast to its previously crispy state. The Chow Mein, once a standout dish, was described as having poor quality and being excessively greasy. This experience led to significant dissatisfaction, with the reviewer suspecting new ownership as the cause for the decline. They expressed a desire to confirm the presence of the original owner before placing future orders, highlighting the positive impact the original owner had on their dining experiences.
Further supporting the notion of a change in management and its impact, the same reviewer mentioned discovering a pre-COVID picture illustrating significantly larger serving sizes than what is currently offered. This visual evidence reinforces the sentiment that the restaurant's standards have changed, with portions now being considerably smaller. This change, coupled with a reported price increase, has led to a perception of reduced value for money.
Another customer who has visited Auction Chinese Food multiple times in hopes of a better experience, given the limited Chinese food options in Colton, has consistently been disappointed. This reviewer states that the food invariably tastes like it has been sitting in a warmer for hours, suggesting a lack of freshness. This repeated negative experience indicates a persistent issue with food preparation or holding practices at the restaurant.
In addition to concerns about food quality, this second reviewer also commented on the lack of personality exhibited by the staff taking orders, specifically mentioning a lady who "just points and moves on to the next person." This suggests a potential issue with customer service, where interactions are perceived as stale and impersonal. This lack of engagement can detract significantly from the overall dining experience, regardless of the food quality.
Information regarding the environment or ambiance of Auction Chinese Food is limited in the provided reviews. The first reviewer's initial positive sentiment over years of patronage suggests that the environment was likely acceptable, or at least not a point of significant concern during the original ownership. However, the recent reviews do not offer any specific details about the restaurant's decor, cleanliness, or overall atmosphere under the new management. Therefore, it is difficult to provide an objective description of the current environment based on the available information.
Similarly, details about the services offered by Auction Chinese Food are primarily gleaned from the customer reviews. It is evident that they offer takeout service, as mentioned by the drastically reduced takeout box sizes. Dine-in service is also implied by the nature of a restaurant and the act of customers visiting the location. However, there is no mention of delivery services, online ordering, or other conveniences that some Chinese restaurants may offer. The service at the counter, as described by one reviewer, appears to be perfunctory and lacking in personal engagement.
Specific features of Auction Chinese Food, beyond the standard offerings of a Chinese restaurant, are not detailed in the reviews. The menu likely includes common American Chinese dishes, but the specific variety and quality have come under scrutiny with the apparent change in management. The once-praised Chow Mein and crispy chicken are now sources of disappointment for at least one long-time customer, indicating a shift in the restaurant's key features or the execution thereof.
Currently, there is no promotional information available in the provided reviews for Auction Chinese Food. Customers interested in potential discounts, special offers, or new menu items would need to contact the restaurant directly at (909) 514-1500 or +1 909-514-1500 to inquire. Given the recent negative feedback regarding food quality and service, it would be prudent for potential customers to seek up-to-date information before deciding to dine here.
In conclusion, Auction Chinese Food in Colton has a history of being a favored local Chinese restaurant. However, recent customer reviews strongly suggest a decline in food quality, reduced portion sizes, and a lack of customer service under what is believed to be new management. While it was once praised for its crispy chicken and thick Chow Mein, current feedback describes mushy chicken and greasy, poor-quality Chow Mein. The serving sizes for takeout have also reportedly decreased significantly. Potential customers should be aware of these recent negative experiences when considering Auction Chinese Food as their dining option in Colton. It may be wise to inquire about the current ownership and recent changes before placing an order.

Customer Reviews
I've been coming to this place for years since I've lived in colton its actually my favorite spot for Chinese food until my recent visit today, I think the original owners that operated it for years is under new management and the quality of food has gone down drastically with a price increase. Everything tasted like mush including the chicken which I've never ever experienced it's always been really good and crispy crunchy but now it just literally falls apart. Same with the chow mein its usually very thick and golden probably the best chow mein I've ever had but now the quality is very poor and extremely greasy. I was unsatisfied with my visit the only time but like I said it could be new owners, next time I'm not placing my order until I see the owner at the register she is amazing and friendly. If you happen to see this review miss thank you for everything and the years you've served here in colton😊 you will be missed by the community! Update: I found a picture of the serving sizes before COVID and also learned that it is under new management. You will never ever get a box like that to go served ever again 😔 original owner would pack it till could barely close.
This place is so disappointing. I've come here 3 times now thinking maybe this time the food will taste fresh, better since my options in Colton are so limited. Nope!! It always tastes like it's been sitting in that warmer for hours. The people who take your order are just as stale. The lady has no personality with the customers. Just points and moves on to the next person. It sucks there are no better Chinese food options here in Colton
The food there is do delicious I been going there for a long time now that’s the only place I would ever eat Chinese food
I don't usually review food places. But this deserved to be posted. I found a dead small roach or bug in my chow mein as I was eating. That is disgusting. I have never had this happen to me at this Chinese food place until now. Honestly I wouldn't recommend eating here. If a roach could make it into my food, I don't want to imagine how the kitchen looks. My husband took the food back for a refund. I lost my appetite after that. Definitely won't be purchasing food from this place after this.
Portion small and the lady is rude that work there! After seeing someone posted they had a roach in there I won’t be going back!! It’s so hard to find a good Chinese food place smh!
