About Atlantic Seafood and Dim Sum
Welcome to the introduction of Atlantic Seafood and Dim Sum, a Chinese restaurant located at 500 N Atlantic Blvd suite 200, Monterey Park, CA 91754, USA. Situated in a bustling area known for its diverse culinary scene, Atlantic Seafood and Dim Sum offers a wide selection of dim sum and other seafood dishes. For inquiries or to make a reservation, you can contact them at their phone number (626) 872-0388 or their mobile number +1 626-872-0388.
Based on recent customer reviews, Atlantic Seafood and Dim Sum presents a mixed picture. On the positive side, one reviewer highlighted it as a "good dim sum stop" with a currently attractive promotional offer: dim sum is priced at a discount of $4.38 on weekdays and $5.38 on weekends and holidays. This promotion could be a significant draw for local users looking for a more affordable dim sum experience. The reviewer also noted that the restaurant boasts a larger dim sum selection compared to many other places and importantly, they still utilize the traditional cart service. This method allows diners to visually inspect and choose their desired dishes as the carts are wheeled through the dining area, enhancing the traditional dim sum experience. The reviewer also mentioned that the food tasted great and the service was good during their visit.
However, another more critical review raises concerns about potential changes in food quality and customer service. A long-time customer expressed disappointment, stating that they believe the restaurant has been "cutting corners." Specifically, they mentioned the xia jiao (shrimp dumplings), a staple in dim sum, which reportedly used to contain actual shrimp but now consists of a mashed mixture that the manager eventually admitted contains pork and flour. The reviewer recounted a frustrating interaction with the manager who initially seemed unwilling to acknowledge the change in quality or the addition of pork and flour. This led to a back-and-forth discussion before the manager conceded these points. The reviewer expressed strong dissatisfaction with what they perceived as dishonesty and poor customer service, questioning the logic of potentially losing loyal customers over cost-saving measures on a relatively inexpensive dish. This feedback suggests a decline in the quality of at least one key dim sum item and raises concerns about transparency and customer relations.
In terms of services, Atlantic Seafood and Dim Sum primarily offers a dine-in experience, particularly emphasizing the traditional dim sum cart service. This allows customers to directly interact with the offerings and make spontaneous choices. The positive review mentioned good service, while the negative review highlighted a significant issue with customer service related to addressing concerns about food quality. It would be beneficial for local users to consider that service experiences can vary.
The features of Atlantic Seafood and Dim Sum include a potentially larger-than-average selection of dim sum, catering to a wide range of tastes. The continued use of the traditional dim sum carts is a notable feature that many dim sum enthusiasts appreciate, as it provides a visual and interactive dining experience. The current promotional discount on dim sum prices, offering a more affordable option on both weekdays and weekends/holidays, is also a significant feature that could attract new and returning customers.
However, the reported decline in the quality of at least one popular dim sum item (xia jiao) and the associated issues with customer service transparency are important points to consider. While the restaurant may offer a large selection and a traditional service style, the consistency and quality of their ingredients and their approach to customer feedback appear to be areas of concern based on the negative review.
Information about the environment of Atlantic Seafood and Dim Sum is limited in the provided reviews. The mention of a "dim sum stop" and the use of carts suggest a typical bustling dim sum restaurant setting. However, details about the ambiance, décor, or seating arrangements are not provided. Local users might want to look for photos or more recent reviews online to get a better sense of the restaurant's atmosphere.
The current dim sum discount ($4.38 on weekdays and $5.38 on weekends/holidays) serves as a clear promotional offering. This could be a temporary promotion to attract more customers, and local users interested in dim sum at a reduced price should take advantage of it while it lasts. It is advisable to confirm the duration of this promotion with the restaurant directly.
For local users in Monterey Park seeking a Chinese restaurant specializing in dim sum, Atlantic Seafood and Dim Sum offers a traditional cart service and a wide selection, currently at a discounted price. However, it is crucial to be aware of recent feedback regarding potential declines in the quality of certain dishes and concerns about customer service transparency. While the promotional pricing and the traditional service are appealing, the reported issues with food quality should be taken into consideration.
If you value a large variety of dim sum and enjoy the experience of selecting dishes from circulating carts, Atlantic Seafood and Dim Sum might be worth a visit, especially while the discount is in effect. However, it would be prudent to be mindful of the recent negative feedback regarding ingredient quality and customer service when making your decision.
In conclusion, Atlantic Seafood and Dim Sum in Monterey Park offers a traditional dim sum experience with cart service and a currently discounted price. While one reviewer praised the selection, taste, and service, another long-term customer expressed significant concerns about a decline in food quality and unsatisfactory customer service related to these changes. Local users should weigh these contrasting opinions and the attractive promotional pricing when considering dining at this establishment.

Customer Reviews
Good dim sum stop. Currently the dim sum is at a discount, $4.38 on weekdays and $5.38 weekends/holidays. Go while the promotion is on. I feel that they have a larger dim sum selection than most places and they still use carts to let you see and pick what you like. Food tastes great and service was good.
I have been coming here for years and it is so unfortunate they are cutting corners. The xia jiao used to have actual shrimp in it; now it is all mashed up like a meatball and according to their manager it has pork and flour in it. He refused to admit anything about the quality declined and that there was flour in it until we went back and forth and he finally admitted pork and flour were indeed added to it. At least admit to the changes don't bs and lie about it, then admit to it and then try to gaslight us into thinking we can't tell the difference. Why lose loyal customers over a five dollar dish? Very foolish and poor customer service and poor attitude he knew what we were talking about he admitted to the change in quality which made it worse
I know they are good and that's only BEFORE. Yes sure portions are huge but filling was a joke and taste becomes a bit bland. Inconsistent
I recently visited Atlantic Dim Sum in Monterey Park for two events, and I’d give it a solid three-star rating. The food was good, with a wide variety of options that impressed me—there were even plenty of choices for vegetarians, which isn’t always the case at dim sum spots. I don’t have a clear sense of the pricing since I was there for events, but I can say the complimentary parking was a nice touch and made things hassle-free (it's in a mall). This place could have easily been a four-star experience, but the language barrier was a significant drawback. Very few staff members spoke English, so people at the events had to communicate in Mandarin to confirm which dishes were vegetarian, which was a bit inconvenient. If you speak Cantonese, I’d say this spot might feel like a four-star gem, and if you’re not vegetarian, it could even be a five-star experience given the quality and variety of the food. Overall, it’s a solid choice for dim sum in Monterey Park.
Great dim sum for a great price. The Baked Salty Egg Yolk Bun 菠蘿流沙包 is to die for. I would go back just for those. Love that they have the cart service. The food is fresh, hot, tasty and on demand.
