Asian Wind offers a dine-in experience with a focus on providing a variety of Asian flavors. Based on customer feedback, the restaurant boasts a "very pretty decor," suggesting a pleasant and inviting ambiance for diners. This attention to the aesthetic environment can enhance the overall dining experience, making it a comfortable place to enjoy a meal.

One of the standout features of Asian Wind, according to customer reviews, is the availability of vegetarian options. One patron expressed their delight in finding "so many vegetarian options" and indicated their intention to return, highlighting the restaurant as a noteworthy choice for those seeking plant-based meals. Additionally, the menu includes Malaysian dishes, such as the "kwachic," indicating an effort to offer a broader spectrum of Southeast Asian cuisine beyond the typical Chinese restaurant offerings. A customer who tried the kwachic described it as "good" but noted a similarity to "seitan bignets in an orange sauce" and desired more spice, which was partially addressed with the provision of chili oil.

In terms of service, customer experiences appear to be somewhat varied. One reviewer mentioned observing younger staff engaged in personal conversations and giving "weird looks," which suggests a potential lack of attentiveness or professionalism in some interactions. However, this same reviewer also highlighted a positive interaction with an "older lady with an incredible voice" who served them, contributing to a "quiet dinner" that they appreciated. Another customer described the service as "fast and friendly," indicating that positive and efficient service is also a characteristic of Asian Wind, particularly noting a lack of wait time and a quick server.

Portion sizes at Asian Wind seem to be generous, with one reviewer mentioning "large portions" for dishes like sweet and sour chicken and chow mein, which were also described as "very delicious." This aspect can provide good value for money, especially for those with a hearty appetite or those looking to share dishes. The large egg drop soup, priced at $4.99, was noted to be sufficient for four people, further emphasizing the generous portion sizes.

A specific item that received high praise in the reviews is the crab Rangoon, described as "to die for." This suggests that Asian Wind excels in preparing certain appetizers that are particularly popular among their clientele. The combination of large portions, amazing taste, and generally fast and friendly service, as mentioned by one satisfied customer, positions Asian Wind as a "definitely worth going to" option for those craving Asian food in Lexington.

Very pretty decor. It's nice to see almond cookies for sale at the counter. I was really excited for vegetarian Malaysian food, especially the kwachic. It was good, but more like seitan bignets in an orange sauce. Would have liked more spice. They brought out some chili oil when I requested it hotter. The chili oil was good, but not very spicy. The younger staff seemed very caught up in their personal conversation and shooting me weird looks after I took a seat. I was served by an older lady with an incredible voice. I was glad to have a quiet dinner by myself. I'm very glad that there are so many vegetarian options here. I will be back next time I'm in town.

Large portions, amazing taste, and fast and friendly service! There was no wait, and our server was quick and friendly! We got the large egg drop soup for 4.99 and it was enough for 4. The crab Rangoons were to die for. The sweet and sour chicken and chow mein were both large proportions and very delicious. Definitely worth going to if you’re in the mood for Asian food.

I’ve been a customer for 20 years plus. I hate leaving a negative review but I tried to address it with them over the phone but it wasn’t resolved satisfactorily. Instead of the vegetarian kwachik that we ordered (and was on receipt), they gave us chicken. My vegetarian daughter recognized after taking a bite of. Rather than refunding the item they expected us to turn around and return to the restaurant (their policy) even though we were at home 20 minutes away or return the next day with the item. In addition, the other item we ordered was inedible. If they had just refunded the $11 for the vegetarian meal they would not have lost a long term customer. In response to your answer, you didn’t find any order for orange chicken because we DIDN’T ORDER Orange chicken!!! We ordered orange kwachik. Own up to your mistake.

Last couple of times we have gotten food the quality had gone down. Tonight got bourbon chicken and sweet and sour chicken; however both were salty and bland at the same time. Bourbon chicken dry and overcooked with a very watery sauce.

I order hot and sour soup and two order vegetables roll and a chicken lomien. The soup is soooooo sweet feel like someone just put bowl of sugar in it and I trash it straight up after tasting and this place went so down the hill after new owner took over.i will never order again. Chicken lomien and vegetable roll taste ok.
