About Asian Tea House

Welcome to Asian Tea House, your local Chinese restaurant located at 117 Columbia Turnpike, Rensselaer, NY 12144, USA. You can reach us at (518) 449-2030 or on mobile at +1 518-449-2030.

Based on recent customer experiences, Asian Tea House offers a diverse menu that extends beyond traditional Chinese fare. One customer who attended a sushi event praised the well-balanced flavors, excellent preparation of the sushi, and attentive service, also highlighting their exceptional sweet and sour soup and expressing intentions to return.

However, another customer had a mixed experience. While they found the Mongolian steak to be satisfactory, they noted that the Cali roll was not up to expectations and the gyoza was just average. They also commented on a steak and vegetable dish where the steak itself was considered below restaurant standard, and the rice was not to their liking. This customer also mentioned a minor service oversight regarding cutlery but acknowledged the waiter's overall pleasantness.

Asian Tea House appears to offer a varied dining experience, with some customers highly recommending specific dishes and the overall service, while others found certain aspects of the food to be less impressive. We encourage you to visit Asian Tea House to explore their menu and form your own opinion on their offerings.

I recently attended a sushi event at this restaurant, and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Although it was my first time there, I definitely plan to return. The flavors were well-balanced, the sushi was prepared well, and the service was attentive. On a side note, they also served the best version of sweet and sour soup I’ve ever had.

Cali roll wasn’t as good as I’d expected. The gyoza was ok , nothing too crazy. Mongolian steak was a 6/10 (which is good for me). Tried my friend’s dish which consisted of steak, stir fried vegetables and a side of rice. The steak was brought out then mixed in with the vegetables. Steak by itself was probably the worst steak for a restaurant standard and the rice was also not to my liking. Waiter forgot to give us knifes and forks but other than that he was nice. Overall a 5/10.

Unfortunately I was a bit disappointed in my latest order. Ive always had love for this place, but our relationship had fizzled out long ago. l am always pleased with the Hot and Sour soup, but do not recommend the sushi. It was a bit fishy, and I even had a bone. The website didn't have descriptions of the specialty rolls, so I took a gamble and was disappointed. Even the sweet potato roll, which is often a safe option anywhere, wasn't very good. The service is usually pleasant, but I was reminded why I'd stopped ordering anything other than the Hot and Sour Soup from here.

Idk maybe just the sushi is good from here ? I ordered from the Chinese food side the egg foo young to be exact and i have never had eggfoo young that looked and tasted like that! NASTY! It was nasty it comes with pork fried rice and an egg roll there was like 4 scoops of rice no exaggeration and the egg roll was so oily. Ughh I was so upset i wasted my money on that!

I like sesame chicken for its sweetness and crunchiness. The sesame chicken here was not crunchy whatsoever and the sauce itself was smothering the chicken breasts I received. There were also small pieces of plastic wrap in the rice which I thought were maybe kosher salt crystals at first but upon further inspection it was plastic/ cling wrap. Didn’t get a photo of that because I ended up throwing the meal out after that. There’s better Asian places to eat in the area. Me personally, I won’t be back here.
