Based on recent customer feedback, Asian Lantern provides a pleasant and inviting atmosphere for diners. One returning customer, who had previously frequented the restaurant over 30 years ago, specifically mentioned enjoying the "soft Asian music in the background," contributing to a relaxing and authentic dining experience. While detailed descriptions of the decor are not available, Chinese restaurants often aim to create a comfortable and culturally inspired ambiance for their guests to enjoy their meals. Whether you are looking for a quiet dinner or a place to gather with friends and family, Asian Lantern appears to offer a welcoming setting.

As a dedicated Chinese restaurant, the primary focus at Asian Lantern is to provide a wide selection of traditional and popular Chinese dishes. While a complete menu is not provided in the available information, we can glean insights into some of the offerings based on customer reviews. One satisfied customer detailed their enjoyable meal, which included:

  • Hot tea, a staple in many Chinese dining experiences.
  • Chicken and rice soup, a comforting and classic dish.
  • Moo Goo Gai Pan combination plate, which typically features sliced chicken and mushrooms in a light sauce, served with fried rice and an egg roll.

The same reviewer also noted that their husband enjoyed the chicken and noodle soup and chicken fried rice, further indicating the availability of these familiar Chinese favorites. Another customer mentioned trying the General Tso's chicken with fried rice, describing it as "pretty good." General Tso's chicken is a popular dish known for its sweet and slightly spicy sauce.

In terms of appetizers, the reviews highlight the deliciousness of the egg rolls and the crab Rangoon. One customer particularly enjoyed the crab Rangoon, describing it uniquely as tasting "like I was eating a cream filled doughnut," suggesting a possibly sweeter or richer filling than typically found. This positive feedback on the appetizers indicates that Asian Lantern pays attention to the quality and taste of their starters.

Regarding the main courses, one reviewer noted that, similar to many Chinese restaurants, the quality of the chicken dishes can be "hit or miss." This suggests a potential variability in the preparation or consistency of different chicken-based entrees. However, the positive mentions of the Moo Goo Gai Pan and General Tso's chicken indicate that many of their chicken dishes are well-received.

A unique feature mentioned in one of the reviews is the offering of "orange slices for dessert." This light and refreshing palate cleanser is a common practice in some Chinese restaurants and adds a thoughtful touch to the dining experience.

I used to go here when I lived in the area over 30 years ago. I just moved back to the area and I'm delighted that they're still here and still just as good. Had dinner there with my husband tonight and it was delightful! I had hot tea, chicken and rice soup, and the moo goo gai pan combination plate with fried rice and egg roll. My husband had the chicken and noodle soup and chicken fried rice. I loved the atmosphere with the soft Asian music in the background. They also give you orange slices for dessert. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and I'll definitely be back for more!

The food was mostly good. As most Chinese restaurants, the chicken is hit or miss. The egg rolls were delicious, and the crab Rangoon was one of my favorite. To me, it tasted like I was eating a cream filled doughnut. I had the General Tso's with fried rice. It was pretty good. I will give it another try.

First visit after reading a lot of positive reviews. I was craving beef with broccoli. Ordered lunch portion and since I don't eat a lot, plenty leftover to take home. The broccoli was cooked perfectly. I would have liked a bit more "gravy." My friend ordered shrimp chow mein, altho I believe she really wanted shrimp lo mein. She loved it even tho the chow mein was served with dry noodles instead of wet. The parking lot is hard for me as I am mobility challenged, and use a cane due to poor balance. I'm sure paving would be a big expense, but it would make the restaurant more accessible. The only other negative I will cite is the carpet in the restaurant. It is far beyond it's lifespan and needs to be replaced. Again, another big expense, and I know these are tough times. We were the first customers of the day, and only one other person came in for a carry-out order during the time we were there. I think advertisement may be needed. Perhaps some coupons or specials posted outside? The woman who greeted and seated us was smiling and very pleasant. The young man, whom I believe was the son of the woman, was not nearly as outgoing or pleasant. I got the feeling he would rather be doing anything else. Our food was good and plentiful, and the pricing was fair by the current standards.

We were seated quickly. Server was quick with drinks. Their hot tea is oolong, my favorite. We ordered crab Rangoon 6 pcs. Crunchy on the outside and creamy sweet /savory on the inside. We had General TSO dinner and bourbon chicken. The portions were large enough that we had leftovers for today's lunch. The cold orange slices were refreshing. The restaurant is clean and employees are kind. Thank you for making dinner.
