About Asian Garden

Welcome to Asian Garden, a Chinese restaurant located at 3971 Rivers Ave, North Charleston, SC 29405, USA. You can contact them to place an order or for inquiries at (843) 744-2679 or their mobile number +1 843-744-2679. Situated on Rivers Avenue, Asian Garden serves the North Charleston community with a variety of Chinese cuisine options, available for both dine-in and takeout.

Customer reviews of Asian Garden present a somewhat mixed perspective, highlighting both positive and potentially unconventional aspects of their offerings. One reviewer expressed significant dissatisfaction with several dishes. They noted that the lo mein was prepared using spaghetti noodles instead of traditional Chinese egg noodles, which may be unexpected for those familiar with standard Chinese cuisine. Additionally, they reported receiving rice and a "kind of soupy vinegary cabbage" in place of chicken chow mein, which is also typically a noodle-based dish. This suggests that Asian Garden may offer unique interpretations of classic Chinese dishes that deviate from common expectations. The same reviewer also mentioned that the food was "real bland," indicating a lack of desired flavor for their palate. Furthermore, they pointed out that Asian Garden operates as a cash-only establishment, which, while acceptable, is important for customers to know in advance to avoid inconvenience.

In contrast to the negative experience above, another customer had a decidedly positive encounter. They specifically praised the beef and broccoli and the shrimp fried rice (with extra shrimp), stating that both dishes were "so good" that they couldn't finish their portions. This suggests that some of Asian Garden's dishes are well-received and flavorful, offering generous servings. The same reviewer also commended the staff, describing the people working as "very friendly and helpful" with their order, indicating a positive aspect of the customer service provided.

This positive reviewer further described Asian Garden as a "very nice, clean Chinese restaurant" and explicitly recommended it to those seeking such an establishment on Rivers Avenue in North Charleston, reiterating that "They have great food here." This testimonial paints a picture of a clean and welcoming environment with satisfying food, directly contradicting the blandness reported by the other reviewer. This discrepancy highlights the subjective nature of taste and the possibility of varying experiences with different dishes or on different occasions.

Considering these contrasting reviews, it appears that Asian Garden offers a Chinese dining experience that may include some non-traditional preparations, such as the use of spaghetti noodles for lo mein and a rice-based alternative to chicken chow mein. While one customer found these deviations and the overall taste to be bland, another found specific dishes like the beef and broccoli and shrimp fried rice to be very good and plentiful. The cleanliness of the restaurant and the friendliness of the staff were noted as positive attributes by one reviewer, suggesting a pleasant dining environment and helpful service.

For local users in North Charleston considering Asian Garden, it is important to be aware of the potential for variations in dish preparation compared to standard expectations. If you are open to trying unique interpretations of classic dishes, you might find some pleasant surprises, as suggested by the positive review of the beef and broccoli and shrimp fried rice. The reported cleanliness of the restaurant and friendly service are also factors that may contribute to a positive dining experience. However, the cash-only policy is a practical consideration to keep in mind before visiting.

Given the limited information about the environment beyond the mention of cleanliness, it's difficult to provide a detailed description. Similarly, no specific services beyond dine-in and takeout were mentioned in the reviews. Features of Asian Garden appear to include its location on Rivers Avenue, the friendly service reported by one customer, and the potentially unique preparations of some of its dishes. No promotional information was available in the provided reviews.

For those interested in exploring Asian Garden, it might be beneficial to inquire about the preparation methods of specific dishes when placing an order, especially if you have particular preferences regarding noodles or other ingredients. The positive feedback regarding certain dishes and the friendly staff suggests that there is potential for a satisfying meal. However, the report of blandness and non-traditional preparations indicates that the experience may vary. As a local Chinese restaurant on Rivers Avenue in North Charleston, Asian Garden presents an option worth considering, keeping in mind the diverse opinions shared by its customers. You can contact them at (843) 744-2679 or +1 843-744-2679 for more information or to place an order, and remember to bring cash for your payment.

They use spaghetti noodles for their lo mein, and we got rice and kind of soupy vinegary cabbage instead of chicken chow mein (which is also supposed to be a noodle dish?) They also don't take card, which is fine, but it would be nice to know before you get there. Real bland tbh

If my phone hadn't died, I would have taken pictures of our food. I got the beef and broccoli, hubby got shrimp fried rice and extra shrimp. Both were so good, we couldn't eat it all. The people who were working, were very friendly and helpful with our order. If you are looking for a very nice, clean Chinese restaurant, then come here to the Asian Garden restaurant on Rivers Ave. in North Charleston. They have great food here.

Can't say enough positive things about this place. Me and my family have been coming here for years. Food is always great, owner is always wonderful, I go here as often as I can. I've been to restaurants all over the world, and this might be my absolute favorite restaurant anywhere. I don't know what I'll do when the owners retire, as I'll lose the best Asian restaurant I've ever been to. If you've never been here before, you're missing out. We love you Kim!

The food here is nasty and slack. I went here ordered four chicken wings and house fried rice the chicken in the rice was white pure white and undone the shrimp was also pure white and undone and the portion was very much not even full it was a scoop of rice and I paid 15 dollars for a plate of just chicken don’t go here their food is nasty and portions are not real. Rice isn’t that expensive to only give one scoop.

Food seemed fresh, shrimp in the lo mein were a nice size. My wife had sweet and sour chicken and seemed to like it. Only issue waa too many onions in the lo mein but i guess that's just a preferential thing.
