About Asian Express

Asian Express is a Chinese restaurant located at 909 W Main St in Charlottesville, Virginia. As a local establishment categorized as a Chinese restaurant offering food for sale, Asian Express has garnered some attention in the online review space. However, based on recent customer feedback, it appears that this restaurant has faced significant challenges in the areas of customer service and order accuracy, leading to considerable dissatisfaction among some patrons. This introduction aims to provide local users with an objective overview of Asian Express based solely on the provided customer reviews, highlighting the reported issues with professionalism, order fulfillment, and service attitude.

One customer recounted a strikingly negative experience involving a delivery order. According to this review, the staff member who took the order exhibited highly unprofessional and rude behavior. The incident began with the payment being processed before the customer's address was even confirmed. When the discrepancy in the address arose, the staff member reportedly directed an "attitude" towards the customer. Furthermore, this employee cited personal "family problems" and abruptly asked the customer if they still wanted the food. Due to this "nasty attitude," the customer declined the order. The staff member then stated that a refund would be issued and allegedly hung up on the customer while they were still speaking. The reviewer expressed uncertainty about the staff member's role within the establishment but vowed never to patronize Asian Express again due to this severely negative customer service encounter. The review also noted that refunds apparently take a week to process, adding to the customer's frustration.

Another customer's experience, while involving multiple orders over time, also paints a concerning picture of the restaurant's reliability. This reviewer stated that they order from Asian Express approximately once every three weeks and have encountered an issue in roughly half of their orders. Initially, the primary problem was significant delays in order preparation, with promised 45-minute wait times often stretching to 1.5 hours. To mitigate this, the customer began ordering earlier and waiting to pick up the food, which reportedly helped with the timing issues.

However, a more recent experience involved a complete error in their order. Despite the bag being correctly labeled, they received the wrong sushi. Upon contacting the restaurant to report the mistake, they were offered a redelivery, but this was estimated to take an additional 45 minutes or more. The customer requested a credit for the incorrect order, assuring the restaurant of their continued patronage. However, the staff member they spoke with refused to issue a credit, citing the large size of the order ($87). A partial refund was eventually offered and accepted. This customer also reported that the staff member was "quite rude and yelled at us on the phone," despite the error being on the restaurant's part. As a result of this experience, this customer also stated that they would no longer be ordering from Asian Express and felt compelled to warn others about their negative interactions.

The recurring theme in both of these detailed reviews is a significant lack of professionalism and poor customer service. One incident involved rudeness, hanging up on a customer, and a potential issue with address verification. The other involved yelling at a customer over the phone regarding an error the restaurant made with their order, coupled with an initial refusal to provide a full credit. Additionally, the first review raises concerns about the accuracy of financial transactions (though rectified) and the extended timeframe for refunds.

Beyond the severe customer service issues, the second review also highlights problems with order accuracy (wrong sushi despite correct labeling) and significant delays in order preparation. While the customer found a workaround for the long wait times by picking up their food, the issue of receiving incorrect orders remains a serious concern for reliability.

Neither of the provided reviews offers any insight into the environment or ambiance of the restaurant itself. Both experiences seem to have been primarily related to takeout or delivery services, minimizing interaction with the physical premises. Therefore, no objective description of the restaurant's interior or atmosphere can be derived from this feedback.

Similarly, the reviews primarily focus on the negative aspects of service and order fulfillment. There is no mention of any unique features or specialties of the restaurant that might be considered positive aspects. The primary service discussed is order taking, preparation, and delivery/pickup, all of which were areas of concern in the reported experiences.

Finally, there is no information whatsoever regarding any promotional offers, discounts, or special deals that Asian Express might be running. The reviews focus solely on the negative service interactions and order issues encountered by these two customers.

For local users in Charlottesville, Virginia, considering Asian Express at 909 W Main St, the recent customer reviews present a significant cause for concern. The reported instances of highly unprofessional and rude customer service, coupled with issues of order inaccuracy and long preparation times, should give potential customers pause. While these reviews do not represent all possible experiences, they are detailed and recount serious negative interactions with the restaurant staff.

The lack of any positive feedback in these recent reviews regarding service or order accuracy, and the absence of any information about the restaurant's environment or unique features, further complicates any potential recommendation. Local users who prioritize polite and professional service and accurate order fulfillment may want to exercise caution when considering Asian Express based on this feedback. The reported rudeness, yelling at customers, and refusal to initially rectify order errors are significant red flags.

In conclusion, the recent customer reviews for Asian Express in Charlottesville, VA, paint a concerning picture of unprofessional and rude customer service, as well as issues with order accuracy and preparation times. Local users are strongly advised to consider these negative experiences when deciding whether to patronize this establishment. The absence of any positive feedback in these reviews regarding service or order reliability suggests that there may be significant areas for improvement at Asian Express.

VERY UNPROFESSIONAL, RUDE! Literally took my payment before asking my address, then got an attitude with ME because she had the wrong address. Told me she had family problems and do I want the food or not. Def did NOT want the food after her nasty attitude, says she sending my refund and hung up while I was talking. Not sure if it’s her establishment or what but will NEVER eat here again. Very poor customer service. Not the lady with the glasses but the other one. If you having family problems maybe take the day off or come in later but taking it out on your customers is unacceptable. Also refunds take a week apparently. If I could give negative stars I would!!

We order from Asian Express approximately once every three weeks. Every other order it seems we have an issue. Usually, it's just that it takes 1.5h for our order to be ready instead of 45m as promised, so we have started ordering earlier and waiting to pick up the food which has alleviated some of these issues. Most recently - they completely messed up our order. As in- gave us the wrong sushi even though the bag was correctly labeled. When we called to report the issue, they offered to deliver us a new order but this would have taken 45+m. We asked that they credit us on the incorrect order and we assured them we would continue to order from them. She responded she couldn't credit us as it was a big order ($87). She then offered a partial refund and stated it wasn't her fault since she was not present when the order was prepared. We accepted the partial refund. We will not be ordering from them again. She was also quite rude and yelled at us on the phone, even though the mistake was theirs. Wanted to warn others.

6/1/23 ORDERED VEGES AND NOODLES. Delicious if you don't want spicy. Best of all you don't feel bloated from eating their food. Enough for 2 people. (pic #4) 3/31/23 ORDERED HUNAN BEEF - AMAZING - pic 3. Sauce is delicious. Not overly spicy; just perfect. 1/25/23 Charlottesville, VA. Ordered Amazing Chicken (darker pic with mushrooms). Very good with a sweet spicy sauce. Large pieces of chicken and lots of mushrooms, onions and those tiny corn things. Previous Order: Moo Goo Gai Pan. Vegetables crisp, chicken tender, lots of water chestnuts and zucchini. Wonderful light flavor. Enough for 2 lunches. Highly recommend if not in the mood for something spicy or heavy.

Ordered delivery from this place and had to get a refund because it was so greasy. The entire bag was drenched in grease and all of the food had a pool of grease at the bottom of their boxes. There was also a pool at the bottom of the bag. One of the sides of the boxes was so covered in grease that it molded to the bag and I had to tear it off. Really hate to write this review because I know they’re a small business serving college students, but the amount of grease made me lose my appetite.

I paid $16.95 for BBQ Ribs with bone in and they were cut up into tiny, tiny bits. Not only is this a choking hazard but impossible to get any meat off of—total waste of money. I found the rice to be dry. Sesame chicken was okay (chicken had a lot of fat on it though). Too many other places to choose from.
