About Asian Express
Asian Express is a Chinese Restaurant located at 1356 N Church St in Burlington, North Carolina. Serving the local community, Asian Express offers a variety of Chinese dishes, with a notable emphasis on affordable lunch specials. They can be contacted at (336) 639-7231 or +1 336-639-7231 for placing orders and inquiries. Based on customer reviews, Asian Express presents a mixed picture, with some customers praising its value and certain dishes, while others have reported significant issues with food quality and service.
One positive review highlighted the exceptional value of the 8-piece wing and pork fried rice lunch special, priced at $7.95. The reviewer found this to be an unbeatable deal for the quantity of chicken and rice received. They specifically noted that the chicken was fried crispy, which they personally enjoyed, and that the rice was cooked very well. This positive experience led them to consider Asian Express as their new go-to spot in Burlington.
Another customer shared a positive experience with the general tso's plate, which was paired with shrimp fried rice for an additional $2 upcharge for the shrimp. They described this meal as "great and fresh," and the total cost for both lunch plates was $20.50. This also contributed to their positive impression and their decision to make Asian Express their new favorite in the area. This reviewer also commended the cashier for being "really nice" and helpful in assisting with their chicken selection.
However, not all experiences at Asian Express have been positive. One customer reported a severely negative experience, citing multiple issues with their order. They stated that their wontons were burned to a hard crisp, and their chow mein was missing chow mein noodles and had an unpleasant "fish taste." Furthermore, this reviewer recounted an unprofessional interaction with the person taking their order, who allegedly complained that tips are not shared unless given in cash and that they had no money. This overwhelmingly negative experience led this customer to declare it a "one n done" situation and strongly advise against recommending the restaurant.
Considering these contrasting reviews, it is clear that the quality and service at Asian Express can be inconsistent. While some customers have found excellent value and fresh, tasty food, particularly with the lunch specials and certain dishes like the general tso with shrimp fried rice, others have encountered significant problems with food preparation and unprofessional staff behavior.
Information regarding the restaurant's environment and dine-in services is not explicitly mentioned in the provided reviews. Both positive and negative experiences seem to be related to takeout orders. Therefore, local users interested in dining at the establishment would need to contact Asian Express directly to inquire about seating availability and the restaurant's ambiance.
As a Chinese Restaurant in Burlington, NC, Asian Express offers potentially attractive lunch specials and has garnered praise for the freshness and taste of some of its dishes. The affordability of certain combinations, like the 8-piece wing and pork fried rice special, could be a significant draw for budget-conscious customers. However, the reported issues with burned food, incorrect orders (chow mein without chow mein noodles), and unprofessional staff conduct are serious concerns that potential customers should be aware of.
For local users in Burlington, NC, who are considering ordering from Asian Express, it would be prudent to weigh the potential for good value and tasty lunch specials against the risk of inconsistent food quality and service issues. The positive reviews highlight the affordability and freshness of some items, while the negative review raises red flags about food preparation and staff professionalism.
Without further information or more consistent reviews, it is challenging to provide a definitive overall assessment of Asian Express. The available feedback suggests a restaurant that may offer good deals and satisfactory meals at times, but also one where quality control and customer service can be problematic. Local users might want to proceed with caution and perhaps focus on the specifically praised lunch specials if they decide to try Asian Express.
To obtain the most current information about their menu, hours of operation, and any potential specials, it is always recommended to contact Asian Express directly at the provided phone numbers. Supporting local businesses allows the community to enjoy a variety of culinary options, but it is also important for customers to have realistic expectations based on available feedback.

8 piece wing and pork fried rice lunch special for $7.95!!! WHO can beat that for 8 pieces of chicken with rice?? Chicken was fried crispy, which I like but I know not everyone does. Rice was cooked very well too. Fiancé got a general tso’s plate with shrimp fried rice (shrimp was a $2 up charge) but it was great and fresh! $20.50 for both lunch plates. Found our new spot in Burlington. Cashier was really nice too and helped me choose between what chicken to order.
My wontons were burned to a hard crisp my chow mein had no chow mein noodles and too much fish taste and the guy taking my order complained my tip doesn't go to him unless it's cash and he doesn't have any money... one n done for me. Would not recommend!
Ordered wings with fries and an egg roll. $13 n some change. Got home to only have some burnt unappetizing wings and crunchy fries. Took it right back to the place and the lady (the chunky one) said that all the chicken is like that. She said I can make u some more or give u your money back. I got my money back cause why would I want u to make it again for it to come out the same way 🙄. Then she gon snatch the bag off the counter like she had an attitude which idgaf! Girl bye! I knew I should have went to Shanghai.
It's really crazy to spend your money and end up with a burnt meal. And the girl behind the counter is always rude
Asian Express was really good. I recommend the shrimp fried rice. Will be back for sure.
