Based on the recent customer reviews, the experiences at Annie's Wok appear to be quite varied, with some significant concerns raised about the food quality and preparation. One customer expressed complete disappointment with everything they ordered. They described the Pork Potstickers as seemingly pre-cooked, possibly deep-fried hours earlier and then reheated, resulting in a dry and hard texture. This suggests potential issues with the freshness and preparation methods of this appetizer.
The same reviewer was also highly critical of the #3 Chicken Lo Mein combo. They described the lo mein as an unusual three-layer concoction consisting of what tasted and looked like chow mein sauce and vegetables, a mass of thin noodles, and strips of stir-fried chicken breast on top. This presentation and taste deviated significantly from their expectations of traditional lo mein. The combo also included fried rice, which the customer found to be "colossally gross," resembling rice stir-fried with only soy sauce days prior. They reported spitting out the rice due to its unpleasant taste and discarding the rest, indicating a severe issue with the quality and flavor of this staple dish.
Furthermore, the Curry Tofu ordered by this customer was also unsatisfactory. They described the curry spices as tasting raw and seemingly added as an afterthought to the rest of the dish, suggesting a lack of proper integration of flavors in this vegetarian option. Based on their overall experience, this customer, who orders Chinese food from various restaurants, concluded that Annie's Wok was the worst they had ever encountered, as nothing they ordered was considered good or even passable.
In contrast, another customer who ordered from Annie's Wok for the first time reported a more mixed experience. They found the price to be great and the portions to be generous, which could be appealing to budget-conscious diners looking for value in terms of quantity. They also noted that the staff were friendly, suggesting a positive aspect of the service. However, this reviewer also had concerns about the food preparation. They mentioned that the cream cheese wontons had hardly any cream cheese filling, which would be a significant disappointment for those expecting this key ingredient. Additionally, they observed that the lo mein was not properly mixed, with all the vegetables concentrated in the top half of the container and the noodles clumped together in the bottom half. Despite this issue with the distribution of ingredients, they did find the flavor of the noodles to be great. They also expressed strong satisfaction with the egg rolls, indicating that at least one item met their expectations. Despite the positives of price, portion size, friendly staff, and the taste of the lo mein noodles and egg rolls, this customer was unsure if they would order from Annie's Wok again, suggesting that the issues with the cream cheese wontons and the unmixed lo mein were significant enough to cause hesitation.
Considering these two reviews, Annie's Wok appears to be a restaurant with significant inconsistencies in food quality and preparation. While the price and portion sizes might be appealing to some, the reports of poorly prepared potstickers, unusual and unpleasant lo mein and fried rice, under-flavored curry tofu, and inadequately filled cream cheese wontons raise serious concerns about the overall culinary standards. The positive note about friendly staff and the good flavor of some items like the lo mein noodles and egg rolls are overshadowed by the more critical feedback.
Information regarding the environment of Annie's Wok is not provided in these reviews. As a local Chinese restaurant, it likely offers standard takeout and possibly dine-in services. However, without specific comments on the ambiance or cleanliness of the establishment, it is difficult to describe the dining environment.
Similarly, details about the services offered beyond food preparation and order fulfillment are limited. The mention of friendly staff suggests a positive aspect of customer interaction. However, the inconsistencies in food quality could negatively impact the overall service experience. It is not clear from the reviews whether Annie's Wok offers delivery services or has any unique features that distinguish it from other local Chinese restaurants.
Promotional information is also absent in the provided text. Local restaurants often have specials or discounts to attract customers, but there is no mention of any such offers for Annie's Wok in these reviews. To inquire about any current promotions or special menu items, it would be necessary to contact the restaurant directly.
In conclusion, Annie's Wok in Circle Pines presents a mixed picture based on recent customer reviews. While it may offer attractive prices and generous portions, there are significant concerns regarding the quality and preparation of several key dishes, including the potstickers, lo mein, fried rice, curry tofu, and cream cheese wontons. The staff are reported to be friendly, and some items like the lo mein noodles and egg rolls received positive feedback. However, the inconsistencies and negative experiences reported by other customers should be carefully considered by local users. To gain a better understanding of the current environment, full range of services, and any potential promotions, direct contact with Annie's Wok is recommended.
Annie's Wok in Circle Pines appears to be a local Chinese restaurant where experiences can vary widely. The appealing aspects of price and portion size are contrasted by significant criticisms regarding the quality and preparation of multiple dishes. While friendly staff are a plus, the inconsistencies in food, ranging from poorly cooked appetizers to strangely prepared main courses and inadequately filled wontons, raise red flags for potential diners. Local users might want to proceed with caution and perhaps consider ordering less common items or inquiring about the preparation methods before placing a substantial order. Further investigation into more recent reviews or direct communication with the restaurant could provide a clearer picture of the current dining experience at Annie's Wok.
For those in the Circle Pines area seeking Chinese food, Annie's Wok offers a local option with potentially budget-friendly prices and generous servings. However, the recent customer feedback highlights substantial concerns about the quality and proper preparation of several dishes. The stark contrast between a completely negative experience and a mixed one suggests a lack of consistency. While the friendliness of the staff is a positive point, the issues with food quality and execution could outweigh this for many diners. Local users are advised to carefully consider these reviews and perhaps seek additional information before deciding to dine at or order from Annie's Wok. Inquiring about popular dishes and preparation methods might help in making a more informed choice.

Everything from Annie's Wok was a complete disappointment. The Pork Potstickers (6) seem to be lightly deep fried hours ago and reheated; they were dried and hard. The #3 Chicken Lo Mein combo has the strangest Lo Mein I've ever encountered. It was a three layer concotion of what looked and tasted like Chow Mein sauce and vegetables, a mass of thin noodles, then thin strips of stir fried chicken breast in the top; it didn't look or taste like Lo Mein from other restaurants. It came with colossally gross fried rice that looked like rice that was stir fried with only soy sauce days earlier. I spat out the rice as soon as I tasted it and threw the rest into the trash. We also had the Curry Tofu and the curry spices tasted raw and added as an afterthought into the rest of the dish. I order Chinese food from a variety of restaurants, and Annie's Wok was the worst I've ever encountered as nothing was good or even passable.
I ordered from here for the first time tonight. The price was great and the portions were generous. The staff were friendly. However, there was hardly any cream cheese in the cream cheese wontons, and the lo mein really wasn't mixed. The first half of the container was all vegetables, and the noodles were all clumped together in the bottom half. The flavor of the noodles was great, though. We really loved the egg rolls. I'm not sure I'd order from here again, though.
First off. The place was extremely dirty. Not messy but dirty. The food was just ok. Edible but bland and a little pricey for what you got. Serving size was generous but overall not somewhere I want to go again.
Amazing nostalgic Chinese food for take out or delivery. They are a staple at our home, especially for celebrations. It’s always what friends and family want to order when we gather at our home. Friendly staff as well!
This place has GREAT food for a really afforadable price with table service. Could not find a better quick comfort food place. Also their cream cheese puffs are phenomenal. If you want a more authentic Chinese lunch this is your place.
