About Amy's Chinese Kitchen
Welcome to Amy's Chinese Kitchen, a Chinese restaurant situated at 8577 Gravenstein Hwy in Cotati, California. As a local Chinese restaurant, Amy's Chinese Kitchen aims to provide a variety of Chinese-American dishes to the community. While specific details about the restaurant's ambiance and comprehensive services are limited based on the provided reviews, we can piece together an overview of what potential customers might expect.
One recent customer who visited Amy's Chinese Kitchen for lunch shared several observations about their experience. They noted the service as "very friendly and insanely fast," which could be a significant positive for those looking for a quick meal. Regarding the environment, the reviewer found the place to be "clean, but chilly inside," suggesting a potentially simple and perhaps not overly warm atmosphere. This is something to keep in mind if a cozy dining environment is a priority for you.
In terms of food, this reviewer's experience was less enthusiastic. They described the food as being "on the low end of mediocre," clarifying that it wasn't necessarily bad but rather "pretty bland." While they acknowledged that the portion sizes were "enormous" and the prices were "ok," they stated that nothing they ate provided a compelling reason for a return visit. Specifically, they found the wonton soup to be the most flavorful item, while the egg rolls were "meh," and the chicken and broccoli with fried rice was "not very good at all." This feedback suggests a potential inconsistency in flavor profiles across different dishes, with some items being more satisfying than others.
Another customer described Amy's Chinese Kitchen as a "very quaint and simple restaurant." They ordered sweet and sour chicken with veggie fried rice and found the flavors to be "perfectly flavored and well balanced," noting that the sauce was not overly sweet and the rice was "delicate with lightly crunchy vegetables." This positive feedback on specific dishes indicates that Amy's Chinese Kitchen might have some well-prepared and flavorful options. However, this reviewer also raised a significant concern regarding the quality of the chicken, describing it as "very poor quality" and "like biting into a stack of toothpicks." Despite the perfect breading, the poor quality of the chicken itself was a major drawback, preventing this customer from considering Amy's as their go-to Chinese restaurant.
Considering these two reviews, Amy's Chinese Kitchen appears to be a local establishment that offers fast and friendly service in a clean but potentially chilly environment. The portion sizes are noted as generous, and the prices are reasonable. However, the food quality seems to be inconsistent. While some dishes, like the wonton soup and the sweet and sour chicken sauce and veggie fried rice (in terms of flavor and texture), receive positive mentions, other dishes, such as the chicken and broccoli and the chicken in the sweet and sour dish, have been criticized for being bland or of poor quality. The egg rolls were also described as unremarkable.
For local users in Cotati considering Amy's Chinese Kitchen, it might be beneficial to contact them directly at (707) 794-9828 or +1 707-794-9828 to inquire about their current menu and any daily specials. Given the mixed reviews, asking about the preparation methods or popular dishes might provide further insight. If you value fast service and large portions at an okay price point, Amy's might be worth trying. However, be aware of the potential for inconsistent food quality, particularly regarding the main proteins in some dishes.
To form your own informed opinion, you might also consider looking for more recent reviews on other online platforms to see if there are any consistent themes or if the restaurant has addressed the quality concerns raised. Keep in mind that taste is subjective, and your experience might differ from those who have already shared their feedback. Trying a few different dishes, perhaps starting with the wonton soup or the sweet and sour chicken (while being mindful of the reported chicken quality), could help you determine if Amy's Chinese Kitchen meets your expectations for local Chinese cuisine.
In conclusion, Amy's Chinese Kitchen in Cotati offers fast, friendly service and generous portions in a clean but possibly cool environment. While some aspects of the food, such as the flavor of certain sauces and the texture of the fried rice, have been praised, there are also concerns about blandness in some dishes and poor quality in the chicken. We encourage local users to contact the restaurant directly for more information and to consider the mixed feedback when deciding whether to dine at Amy's Chinese Kitchen. Your personal experience may vary, and exploring their menu might lead you to discover some satisfying options.

Customer Reviews
I had lunch here recently. It was my first visit. The service was very friendly and insanely fast. The place is clean, but chilly inside. The food was on the low end of mediocre. It was not bad, per se, but was pretty bland. Portion sizes were enormous and the prices were ok, but there was nothing that I ate that would give me any reason to come back again. The wonton soup was the most flavorful thing. The egg rolls were meh, and the chicken and broccoli with fried rice was not very good at all. Very disappointing given the high rating and rave reviews. That just wasn’t my experience.
This is a very quaint and simple restaurant. I ordered sweet and sour chicken with veggie fried rice. Everything was perfectly flavored and well balanced. The sauce was not too sweet. The rice was delicate with lightly crunchy vegetables. The chicken, on the other hand, was very poor quality. It was like biting into a stack of toothpicks. I can't say it was overcooked since the breading was perfect. If the chicken was better quality, I'd make Amy's my go-to Chinese restaurant. But after this first impression, I'll find another.
I have never been a fan of Chinese food, but we have eaten at Amy's Chinese Kitchen twice in the past month, and both times the food was very fresh and tasty. We have tried several dishes and soup and loved everything we've eaten. Servings size is generous. In fact for takeout lunch, my husband and I share one main course. Service has been great. Atmosphere is simple and clean. Don't go if you want atmosphere. But if you want excellent Chinese food at a very reasonable price, we highly recommend Amy's, our new favorite Chinese restaurant!
Based on the reviews, we decided to give this place a try. We ordered the Peking dinner for three that came with hot & sour soup, egg rolls, fried chicken, pork fried rice, lemon chicken, orange chicken, and Mongolian beef. It came with generous portions. We could feed six people with amount that was included. However, the quality and flavor of the food was poor. The hot and sour soup lacked flavor and included several pieces of low quality tofu which didn’t do much to benefit it. The egg rolls were mushy inside. The lemon and orange chicken that came with it were exactly the same apart from one had too much lemon glaze and the other had too much orange glaze. Both had somewhat mushy battered chicken. The Mongolian beef and pork fried rice were decent, but not exceptional. Bottom line, if you’re looking for a lot of food at a reasonable price, this is the place; however, if you’re looking for good Chinese food, you may need to look elsewhere.
The food did not taste fresh It tastes like it had been in the refrigerator. I have been to the restaurant before. This time can't eat what I ordered. Maybe you should prepare it as it's ordered, and not food that taste like it's been sitting around all day.
