About Alamo Beer Company

Located at 202 Lamar St in San Antonio, Texas, Alamo Beer Company is described by patrons as a "very chill" and worthwhile destination. While categorized as a Chinese Restaurant by the platform, Alamo Beer Company primarily functions as a bar, specializing in its own brewed beers and hosting a food truck on the premises.

The environment of Alamo Beer Company is noted for its relaxed atmosphere and unique location beneath the Historic Hays St. Bridge. It boasts a "huge patio" with outdoor games and shade provided by the bridge, making it a comfortable space to unwind. For those interested, a skatepark is located next door. The venue also offers free parking, which is highlighted as a significant benefit in San Antonio, and provides Wi-Fi access.

The primary offering of Alamo Beer Company is its beer, which customers consistently praise. The Ultimus beer is specifically mentioned as "really good," and other varieties like the Texas Juicy IPA (described as having a "punchy tropical citrus hit") and the Hayz Street IPA (a "well-rounded Hazy IPA") have also received positive feedback for their quality and reasonable pricing. Visitors express intent to return and try more of their beers.

In terms of food, Alamo Beer Company hosts an on-site food truck that has garnered excellent reviews. Dishes such as chilaquiles with brisket, chicken quesadillas, a pulled pork sandwich, and loaded brisket nachos have all been highly recommended. The brisket, in particular, is described as "world class." Even the potato salad, which one reviewer typically dislikes, was praised as the best they had ever tasted.

Overall, Alamo Beer Company offers a relaxed and enjoyable experience with a selection of well-regarded beers and delicious food from the partnering food truck. Its unique setting, ample outdoor space with games, and convenient parking make it a "hidden gem" worth visiting in San Antonio. The only potential drawback mentioned by a reviewer is a need for more advertisement to increase its visibility.

The place is very chill, and the beer I got (Ultimus) was really good. We got the giant pretzel with beer cheese, very nice. Across the place was a food truck were we got some chilaquiles with brisket 🤤, really vast and fulfilling, and a chicken quesadilla, very good as well. The only thing the place lacks is more advertisement

Hidden gem here is worth a visit. Nice location under the Historic Hays St. Bridge. Plenty of parking (which is starting to be a pain in SA), huge patio, outdoor games with shade from the Hays St. Bridge, and a skatepark next door if that's your thing. Wifi available as well so I'll be back to meander through some work with a pint or two. Beer was great and well priced. I got the Texas Juicy IPA which had a very punchy tropical citrus hit thay was very refreshing. My wife got the Hayz Street IPA, a more standard, less fruity, well-rounded Hazy IPA. Both were great, and we'll be back to try the rest soon. The food truck outside hooked it up as well. I got a pulled pork sandwich that was excellent. My wife got the loaded Brisket nachos, and let me tell you... that brisket... world class. I'm not a potato salad fan myself, but my wife said it was the best she had ever had, going out of her way to tell the cook. Basically, everything on our plate was excellent. Can't find a fault here, honestly.

This is a great brewery in San Antonio. We walked here from the Marriott downtown, which was probably a mistake given the 100 degree weather, plus we got lost trying to find the entrance! But it was worth the trip! The beer selection was great, with plenty of options for all beer drinkers. We ordered a few appetizers, which were all a big hit. Service was super nice and helpful, and it was a nice spot to chill in the AC. They also have a nice exterior area that would probably be nice at night or on cooler days. The view of the Hays Street truss bridge adds to the atmosphere. My suggestion to visitors would be to enter via Lamar Street. There’s a nice big parking lot right there with easy access again. If I get back to San Antonio, I would love to come back to the Alamo Beer Company!

Wow! Big parking lot and friendly staff. Beers are really good, but not great. Food can be obtained from separate vendors. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. Small sales area for merch related to site. This is a great, non-touristy place in San Antonio!
