About Abacus Inn

Abacus Inn is a Chinese Restaurant located at 20329 N 59th Ave A10 in Glendale, Arizona. This establishment has undergone new management, leading to some changes in both the menu and the restaurant's atmosphere.

One customer, who remembers Abacus Inn before the management change, noted that while many of the dishes remain the same and are still enjoyable ("soo yummy"), the egg rolls have significantly declined in quality. They described the current filling as a possibly frozen paste, a stark contrast to the previous filling of real cabbage and other vegetables. On a positive note, this reviewer highlighted new menu items like the pork ribs as delicious and praised the consistently great service. They also observed a change in the restaurant's ambiance, noting that the previous mood lighting, authentic artwork, and plants have been replaced with a brighter, cleaner aesthetic featuring TVs, resulting in a different overall feel.

In contrast, another recent dining experience left customers disappointed. They found the food quality to have significantly declined. The orange beef was described as overly breaded and tasting like it was frozen, while the fried rice was unremarkable. The egg rolls, once a highlight, were now smaller and filled with mushy chicken, indicating a drop in quality. The sautéed spicy beef ordered by another diner was criticized for having an imbalance of far more vegetables than beef, with the spice overpowering the dish. Additionally, the white rice was reported as overcooked and pasty. This review concluded that the meal fell short of expectations, especially considering Abacus Inn's previous standards.

Overall, Abacus Inn offers a range of Chinese dishes with dine-in and takeout services. While some customers appreciate certain aspects like the new pork ribs and the service, there are concerns about a decline in the quality of some established items like the egg rolls and entrees, as well as a change in the restaurant's ambiance following new management. If you are in the Glendale area and considering Abacus Inn, it's advisable to weigh these recent mixed reviews.

Soo yummy and fills up your tummy 😋❤️. I remember how it was before the new management and most of the food is the same which is great but the egg rolls are gross now , the filling used to be real cabbage and other veggies and now i think its a paste that was fz 🥺. They have new items that are delicious like the pork ribs ❤️😋 and the service is always great ❤️ . But the restaurant before had mood lighting and more authentic artwork and plants to enjoy and talk about but now its white, bright and clean with TV's . Its just a different feel but the food is still yumm.

We recently had dinner at Abacus Inn and were disappointed with the experience. The food quality has significantly declined. I ordered the orange beef with fried rice. The beef was overly breaded and tasted like it came from frozen, while the fried rice was unremarkable. The egg rolls, which were once a highlight, are now smaller and filled with mushy chicken—definitely not the same quality as before. My husband had the sautéed spicy beef, and his main issue was the lack of balance—there were far more vegetables than beef, and the spice overwhelmed the dish. The white rice was overcooked and had a pasty texture. Overall, the meal fell far short of our expectations, especially considering the standards Abacus Inn used to uphold.

We waited an hour for an order to be delivered. My actual order had 2 soups, 2 entrees, 2 orders of veggie rols, edamame & a large rice. 8 items. An abacus employee taped a handwritten summary of our correct order to *clearly the wrong bag*, and a single bag arrived with only 4 items, NONE of which are correct, this isn't an edible dinner here. I now have to fight for $90+ back, and have hungry disappointed kids. What happened to you guys???

We highly recommend Abacus Inn. Last night me and my fiance went for dinner. We had the dumplings and crab puffs for our appetizers which were very good. Our entrees were Shrimp Egg Foo Yung and Beef Chow Fun both which we highly recommend. We will definitely be going back. One very pleasant thing was extremely nice staff with smiling faces. Thank you Helen

My husband and I have loved Abacus for some time now. We recently made a trip to have dinner. We live downtown Phoenix, and granted, it's not out of state. We have trouble getting over here. It's no surprise that their food is still so delicious! My husband had the "Happy Family and I'd like to tell you what I had, I am not very good with remembering what I had. Take a look at the dishes below. I love the fortune cooks, even though they are very cornie.
