About A+A Sichuan China

A+A Sichuan China, located at 8650 Spicewood Springs Rd #133B in Austin, Texas, positions itself as a Chinese restaurant offering a taste of Sichuan cuisine along with other Chinese dishes. They can be contacted at (512) 258-5445 or via their mobile number, +1 512-258-5445. Based on the limited customer reviews available, the restaurant seems to offer a somewhat inconsistent experience, with some dishes receiving high praise while others have been criticized.

One customer's experience at what appears to be a pop-up event at IBM was quite negative. They ordered a scallion pancake and an eggroll. The scallion pancake was described as having "barely any scallions," being "overcooked," and "barely edible." The eggroll was reported to be "soggy." This negative initial experience led the customer to avoid trying other items that were part of a combo meal, as they did not look appealing. This feedback suggests potential issues with the preparation and quality control of certain standard Chinese appetizers.

In contrast, another customer who ordered takeout of the combination Singapore noodles had a significantly positive experience. They mentioned that upon entering the restaurant, the "outdated look" led them to have low expectations for the food. However, they were pleasantly surprised, describing the noodles as "so so so sooo good." They had requested the dish to be spicy, and it met their expectations in terms of heat. Additionally, this customer found the staff to be "super nice," contributing to a positive overall interaction. This positive experience led them to state that they would "definitely be back" on their next visit to Austin.

The stark contrast between these two reviews highlights the potential variability in the food quality or perhaps differences between the restaurant's regular offerings and what was served at the pop-up event. The positive review of the Singapore noodles suggests that A+A Sichuan China may have some standout dishes that are well-prepared and flavorful, particularly when specific preferences, like spice level, are communicated and met.

The mention of the restaurant's "outdated look" provides some insight into the environment. It suggests that the ambiance might not be modern or particularly appealing aesthetically. However, this did not deter the customer who enjoyed the Singapore noodles, indicating that for some, the quality of the food and service can outweigh the visual appearance of the establishment.

The fact that one customer found the staff to be "super nice" indicates that A+A Sichuan China may prioritize good customer service, at least in some interactions. This positive aspect can contribute significantly to the overall dining experience, even if the environment is not the most contemporary.

Given the limited information, it's challenging to definitively assess the features of A+A Sichuan China. They appear to offer a range of Chinese cuisine, including at least one Sichuan specialty (implied by the name) and popular dishes like Singapore noodles. The ability to customize spice levels, as noted in the positive review, could be a feature that appeals to customers who enjoy spicy food.

Currently, there is no information available regarding any promotional offers, discounts, or special menus at A+A Sichuan China based on these reviews. Local users interested in such information would need to contact the restaurant directly via phone or visit their location in the Spicewood Springs Road area.

In conclusion, A+A Sichuan China in Austin presents a mixed bag of experiences based on the limited reviews. While one customer encountered poorly prepared appetizers at a pop-up event, another had a very positive experience with the Singapore noodles at the restaurant, praising both the flavor and the service. The restaurant's environment is described as having an "outdated look," but the staff was noted to be friendly. Potential customers might find it worthwhile to try some of their specialty dishes, particularly if they enjoy spicy food, but should be aware of the possibility of inconsistencies in food quality based on the available feedback. Further investigation or more reviews would be helpful to form a more comprehensive understanding of what A+A Sichuan China consistently offers.

Tried their food at a Pop-up at IBM. I ordered the scallion pancake and an eggroll. There were barely any scallions in the pancake. It was overcooked and barely edible. The eggroll was soggy. The other food combo didn't look appealing that's why I only tried the 2 items I ordered.

Got combination Singapore noodles for takeout. When I first walked into the restaurant I didn’t expect much of the food due to the outdated look the restaurant had. I was wrong it was so so so sooo good. I asked for it to be spicy and it was definately just as spicy as I wanted. Plus they were super bice. I definately will be back to the next time I’m in Austin.

The ChongChing is legit!!! I’ve been trying to find a place who knows how to make it properly for years. Not too salty, not too dry. Perfect! C25. Chongching Stir-Fried Chicken with Chili / 重慶辣子雞 (Poultry / 雞鴨)

I was incredibly happy that A+A was not murdered by the covid reaction. They transitioned from a good-sized sit-down restaurant to a take-out place, but their food did not suffer. True Sichuan cuisine, and it's fantastic! Pork & Mustard Greens, Cumin Beef, and Green Beans w/ Garlic are our mainstays. I do ask them to make everything appropriately spicy, which I highly recommend! Their soups, dumplings, and noodles are very good, but they really shine with their meat and veg entrees. I could eat the pork and greens dish every day and not get tired of it - there's probably half a fresh garlic bulb in every dish! Great flavors and textures. The bubble tea is also a nice treat while waiting for takeout.

I have ordered here before, but today I seen their ridiculous online prices. Outrageous! Straight up price gouging. No way I will be ordering from them with the listed pricing.
