About A-1 Chinese BBQ

A-1 Chinese BBQ is a Chinese restaurant located at 2014 Pacific Coast Hwy, Lomita, CA 90717, USA. They can be contacted at (310) 325-6709 or +1 310-325-6709.

As a Chinese restaurant, A-1 Chinese BBQ offers a variety of dishes, with BBQ likely being a notable feature. According to customer reviews, the food is generally considered very good by some, with one reviewer mentioning that they do not feel thirsty after eating there, suggesting a minimal use of MSG. The prices are described as compatible with the area, and the portion sizes are noted as good.

The restaurant itself is described as a "tiny hole in the wall" with a minimal atmosphere and a maximum of about 10 tables. Despite its size, it offers a good amount of shared parking in the back of the lot. The servers are reported to be friendly. A-1 Chinese BBQ also offers daily lunch specials at great prices, which can make the small dining area busy during these times. Many customers seem to order multiple dishes and take home leftovers.

However, another review described the food as "just okay" and not particularly outstanding, noting a lack of flavor that required additional seasoning. This reviewer also pointed out that American Express is not accepted, and mentioned some issues with shrimp not being properly deveined. For three items, the cost was $50.

In summary, A-1 Chinese BBQ is a small, local Chinese restaurant in Lomita known for its good food and compatible prices, especially the lunch specials. The atmosphere is minimal, and the dining area is small, which can lead to it being busy. While some customers highly recommend the food and friendly service, others find it to be just average and have noted issues with flavor and payment options.

Food is always very good. Doesn't seem to have much MSG as we don't feel thirsty after eating here. Atmosphere is minimal as A1 is a tiny hole in the wall type restaurant. Max 10 tables total. Servers are friendly. Very compatible price for the area. Good amount of parking sharing with the businesses in the back of the parking lot. Lunch special daily are great prices n get busy because it's a tiny dining area. We always order at least 4 dishes n take home the leftovers for next day lunch or dinner.

Just okay Chinese food nothing to brag about. They don't accept American Express and i always wonder why go into business if you restrict your customers. Some Shrimps not devain well. Overall also lacking flavor had to add seasoning. And was $50 dollars for 3 items but good portions given.

You guys almost didn't get a picture because I was inhaling my food. This restaurant was so scrumptious 😋. We had shrimp fried rice, sautéed scallop, Kung pao chicken 🐔, and Walnut shrimp. When I tell you my food was cooked to perfection.... it really was. My Walnut shrimp I'm going to say is the best hands down in my entire Walnut shrimp career. That crisp crunch and tender shrimp was so delectable. 🔥I'm just shocked this place doesn't have more views. It's in the local area and the waitresses are so kind and like to recommend dishes you might like better and the recommendations are spot on. I love this place! All of my dishes were prepared well and tasted delicious.

This place rocks! D-lishousness all up & down the menu. I have been to many Chinese restaurants throughout Southern California and this hole in the wall is one of a kind. I have been here with my fiancee & our little one of 7 years. So far we have sampled their Crispy noodle Chow mein *all styles*, Fried rice *all styles*, Wonton noodle soups *roasted duck/BBQ-pork*, Chinese broccoli with garlic, Bok-choi with garlic, Mao po tofu, Fried Chicken *appetizers* Egg Rolls, Salt & Spicy Jumbo Shrimp *tapioca battered* (a must try), Roasted Duck, BBQ-pork, General Tsao's Chicken. It gets busy and packed all the time so arrive early with a big appetite. They have excellent service and will accommodate your every salivatory needs. We will be back for the rest of the menu, til then I am most sure whatever you decide to sample, you won't be disappointed. Enjoy!

The food is taste great and original at Taiwanese and Cantonese restaurant. Lots of take outs from local Chinese. A place I would often come when home sick.
