About 9 Thai Kitchen

Located at 8470 W Desert Inn Rd h3, Las Vegas, NV 89117, USA, 9 Thai Kitchen is a local establishment offering Thai cuisine. You can contact them at (702) 570-6350 or +1 702-570-6350.

Initial impressions from some diners describe 9 Thai Kitchen as a pleasant and casual small restaurant with fresh and delicious food. The decor has been noted for its appealing elements, such as a sign stating “This Kitchen is Seasoned with Love” and etched glass details. The service, as highlighted by one reviewer who mentioned their server Nice, has been commended as great.

The menu features a variety of Thai dishes, including appetizers like Fried Tofu served with sweet and sour sauce topped with crushed peanuts. Main courses mentioned include Spicy Eggplant with Tofu (available with brown rice for an extra charge) and Spicy Basil with ground beef, typically served with white rice. Customers have enjoyed dishes like the Spicy Eggplant with Tofu, praising the perfect cooking of the eggplant and tofu, along with the well-balanced seasoning and sauce. The spice level of dishes like the Spicy Basil can be adjusted to preference.

However, more recent feedback suggests some changes at 9 Thai Kitchen. Several long-time patrons have expressed disappointment, indicating that the restaurant may have new ownership. These reviewers mention the removal of favorite menu items and alterations to the recipes of previously beloved dishes. One customer reported a smaller portion size and the inclusion of unlisted ingredients in their usual order of drunken noodles, along with a decline in taste.

Another concern raised by a recent diner was the portion size and price of the coconut ice cream. They felt that a single small scoop was not commensurate with the $13 charge. Additionally, the interior ambiance has reportedly undergone a significant redesign, described as having lost its original personality. The Thai street scenes and sounds previously playing on TV have been replaced with mainstream pop music.

In summary, while 9 Thai Kitchen was once a highly favored local Thai spot known for its fresh food and pleasant atmosphere, recent reviews indicate potential changes that have negatively impacted the dining experience for some regular customers. If you are in the area and looking for Thai food, it might be worth trying, but be aware of the recent feedback regarding menu changes, portion sizes, and the restaurant's ambiance.

9 Thai Kitchen a pleasant casual small restaurant serving fresh delicious food. I like the decor in the restaurant, the sign on the wall that says “This Kitchen is Seasoned with Love” to the etched glass of floral design in the bathroom. Why did I wait so long to dine here!? Our dining experience was great, our server his name was Nice was great too! On the menu: Fried Tofu with sweet & sour sauce topped with crushed peanuts Spicy Eggplant with Tofu & brown rice (extra charge) Spicy Basil with ground beef & white rice Our appetizer Fried Tofu paired well with the sweet and sour sauce topped with crushed peanuts. I loved my dish - Spicy Eggplant with Tofu. The Eggplant and Tofu was cooked perfectly it was firm and tender at the same time with just the right amount of seasoning and sauce. So delicious! The Spicy Basil with ground beef spice level one was perfect. If you haven’t been here, when you’re in the area and want to have Thai food check this place out.

Used to be a regular but unfortunately, I'll have to find a new favorite Thai place. Must've changed ownership because they've removed a few of my favorite things off of the menu, and changed the recipe to my favorite dishes. I dined in a few days ago and ordered the drunken noodles like I usually do. The portion was smaller than usual, there were ingredients in the dish that aren't listed on the menu, and it did not taste as good as it used to. My girlfriend ordered the coconut ice cream which tasted alright but we imagined it'd be more than one little scoop, especially when they charge $13 for it. Least importantly, the interior has been completely redesigned and scrubbed clean of any personality. Where there were once the sights and sounds of Thai streets and street food playing on the TV, there is now the same pop songs you hear on the radio everywhere. It really broke my heart to see this restaurant that has been my favorite Thai spot for years, change so negatively like this. I hope more regular customers feel the same and it inspires the comeback of the old 9 Thai kitchen greatness

This used to be mine and my boyfriend’s FAVORITE Thai spot. I would recommend it to everybody. It was my favorite spot for years. I moved away from the area and just ordered it last night for the first time since probably September or so. Like others are saying, it must have changed ownership, which is truly unfortunate. The prices were way higher, the portions were smaller, and the flavors were not good. The quality of the rice was noticeably worse as well. I ordered the pad Kee Mao, which I normally get, and there was just a random assortment of vegetables that didn’t match the flavor profile at all and that never used to be in the dish. It also wasn’t spicy - which was one of my favorite things about 9 Thai previously, that I could get TRUE Thai spice. I used to order a level 8. They now only have 5 spice levels instead of 10, and they gave me a 4, which was not spicy at all. They also changed the ingredients in my boyfriend’s favorite dish. Also, they don’t have coconut milk anymore. I’m vegan and used to order the Thai tea with coconut milk, but now they only have half and half. I got it without milk, but the new Thai tea servings are MUCH smaller than previously. They are also sickly sweet, whereas they used to be more of a true tea flavor. My boyfriend picked up the food and showed me photos of the inside, which is super depressing as well. It used to be so fun and had such personality, but now it’s sterile-looking and decorated with tacky decor. We used to be regulars here and the cashiers and servers knew us, but he didn’t recognize the man working last night, and when he asked if ownership had changed, the man had zero knowledge or info to give. Really unfortunate. Guess I’ll have to find a new spot which really sucks

The food was some of the best Thai food I have ever had. I ordered the green curry with crispy chicken with a 4 spicy level. The waiter saw it was too spicy for me and gave me a free drink on the house to help with the spiciness. I highly recommend everyone come check this place out. The family that owns it is very kind and overall great people!
