About G & H

G & H is a restaurant located at Westchester Community College-Peekskill Center for the Digital Arts, 11 N Division St, Peekskill, NY 10566, USA. They can be contacted at phone number (914) 930-7447 or mobile phone +1 914-930-7447.

While categorized as a "Chinese Restaurant," customer reviews indicate that G & H specializes in Jamaican food. One reviewer described the food as the most delicious Jamaican food they had ever had, noting the large portions, rightful spiciness, and authenticity. They also praised the helpful and cheerful service provided by the front staff.

However, another reviewer had a significantly different experience, finding the oxtails overcooked and flavorless, and the rice equally bland. They felt that excessive gravy did not improve the dish and, despite the aroma reminding them of home cooking, the taste was not satisfactory enough for a return visit. Another review simply stated that while the portions are large, the food is "just not a winner," suggesting a lack of overall appeal.

The environment of the restaurant is not explicitly described, but the positive mention of the staff suggests a potentially welcoming atmosphere. The primary feature seems to be the Jamaican cuisine offered, with large portion sizes being a consistent point across reviews, though the quality and taste appear to be inconsistent.

For local users in US, G & H is located in the United States, making it geographically distant. The mixed reviews regarding the authenticity and taste of the Jamaican food suggest that experiences may vary. There is no information provided about specific services beyond dine-in (implied by the reviews) or any promotional offers. For those in US interested in Jamaican cuisine, it would be advisable to seek out local restaurants specializing in Caribbean or international flavors to find options closer to home.

The food was the most delicious Jamaican food I have ever had. The portions were big . Food were rightfully spicy and authentic. The lady in the front was very helpful and cheerful.

So I wanted to try a taste from home, unfortunately this was NOT IT. The oxtails were over cooked and had little flavor and the rice was also flavorless. They drowned everything with gravy and it was not a good idea… I would say it smell’s like my grandmothers house but definitely not taste good enough to come back. They give large portions but it’s just not a winner.

Just discovered this restaurant today as I moved to town a few weeks ago. I had to visit immediately. The oxtail was good- it was tender and I loved that. The rice had great texture but just needed a different coconut milk to make it perfect! I look forward to visiting again as the food was good but needs some more love in the seasoning. The host was good. He greeted us and was pleasant. The place was too dark and needed some love- it did look like a Jamaican restaurant back home but a very old school one with the table cloths and lighting. Looking to visit again and see the improvements in this place.

So so place. The place needs some tlc. The oxtail was ok not bad not good. The rice and peas were dry. Hubby and I got turned off. I’m not sure if I’m going to try again. I really love Caribbean food. Specially Jamaican, but that oxtail with rice and peas were not up to the part.

A small is really a mini, and you get two small pieces of meat and with the medium you get an extra small piece of meat just more rice…anywhere else you get plenty of meat and rice and peas and a true small size.
