About 7 Mission Restaurant

Welcome to 7 Mission Restaurant, a Chinese restaurant conveniently located at 150A 7th St in San Francisco, California. Situated not far from the SoMa (South of Market) district, 7 Mission Restaurant has quickly become a go-to spot for locals seeking tasty and satisfying Asian cuisine. While the reviews indicate it might not be a fancy establishment, it excels in providing flavorful food that "hits the spot" at a modest price point, making it an attractive option within the Chinese Restaurant category for those prioritizing good food over elaborate ambiance.

One enthusiastic reviewer expressed that 7 Mission Restaurant is "definitely going to be one of my go to spots!" This positive initial impression highlights the restaurant's ability to create a loyal customer base, particularly among those working in the vicinity. The reviewer, who was surprised it took them so long to discover the place, explicitly recommended it to anyone who loves Asian food, emphasizing the quality of the dishes despite the unpretentious setting.

A standout dish that received high praise is the crispy pork chops, which can be ordered with either steamed rice or fried rice. One customer who visited with coworkers mentioned that they all ordered the same thing – the crispy pork chops – and described it as "bussin (very good)!" This dish was awarded a 5-star rating by the reviewer, suggesting it is a must-try item on the menu. The reviewer also expressed confidence that the other dishes on the menu are likely to be equally great, indicating a generally high standard of food preparation.

The service model at 7 Mission Restaurant offers flexibility for customers. Patrons have the option to order either at the counter or from their table. Once the food is served, payment is made at the counter on the way out. This system appears to be efficient, as one reviewer noted that the service is "great" and there is "not a very long wait to get your food." This efficiency is a significant advantage for those looking for a quick and satisfying meal, especially during lunch breaks or busy periods.

In terms of environment, 7 Mission Restaurant is described as looking like a "mini cafe." Despite its smaller size, it can reportedly seat around 40 people, give or take. The restaurant is noted to be clean, which is a positive aspect. However, it can get "crowded a bit loud," suggesting that it is a popular spot and might not be the best choice for those seeking a quiet and intimate dining experience, especially during peak hours. The reviewer also mentioned that there is "plenty to choose from in the menu," indicating a diverse range of Asian dishes beyond the highly recommended crispy pork chops.

Another dish that received exceptional praise is the braised tofu combo hotpot. One customer described it as "really exceptional" and highlighted the "good wok hei flavor" and "excellent ingredients." Wok hei is a Cantonese term referring to the slightly smoky, charred flavor imparted by a hot wok, which is often a sign of skillful cooking in many Asian cuisines. The reviewer enjoyed the hotpot so much that they "gobbled it up" quickly, regretting that the rice at the bottom of the pot did not have time to form a crispy crust, which is often a desirable part of hotpot dishes.

This reviewer characterized 7 Mission Restaurant as a "basic, hole in the wall place," emphasizing its unpretentious nature. However, they concluded that if the quality of the braised tofu hotpot is representative of the standard of food offered at a modest price, then 7 Mission Restaurant is "a gem not to be missed." This sentiment reinforces the idea that while the ambiance might be simple, the quality and flavor of the food are the main draws.

Based on the provided reviews, 7 Mission Restaurant focuses on delivering tasty and affordable Asian cuisine in a casual and clean environment. Its standout dishes, such as the crispy pork chops and the braised tofu combo hotpot, have garnered high praise for their flavor and quality. The service is reported to be efficient, with a flexible ordering and payment system. While the restaurant can get crowded and a bit loud, its convenient location and delicious food make it a popular choice for locals, especially those working nearby. There is no promotional information available in the provided text, but the positive word-of-mouth regarding the food and the reasonable prices likely serve as its own form of promotion.

In summary, 7 Mission Restaurant offers a no-frills dining experience where the focus is on delivering flavorful and satisfying Asian cuisine at an affordable price. Its convenient location, efficient service, and highly recommended dishes like the crispy pork chops and braised tofu hotpot make it a worthwhile spot for local users seeking a tasty and unpretentious meal. While the ambiance is casual and can get noisy, the quality of the food appears to be consistently praised, making it a "gem not to be missed" for those who prioritize flavor and value.

This place is definitely going to be one of my go to spots! This place is not too far from my work and I cannot believe this is the first time I’m coining here. If you love Asian food, you need to come eat here. I mean it’s nothing fancy but the food is good and hits the spot! Came here with my co-workers and funny enough we ordered all the same things. The crispy pork chops with steamed rice or fried rice is bussin (very good)! I give that dish 5 stars! I’m pretty sure all the other dishes are great too. So the way it works is you can order at the counter or at your table. They serve you and then pay at the counter on your way out. The service is great, not a very long wait to get your food. The restaurant looks like a mini cafe but it can probably seat about 40 plus or minus. It’s clean but it can get crowded a bit loud. So there’s plenty to choose from in the menu. You better believe I’m coming back!

Had a tasty braised tofu combo hotpot which was really exceptional Good wok hei flavor, excellent ingredients. I gobbled it up so quickly that the rice in the bottom of the pot didnt get to form that crispy crust that can be such a treat. This is a basic, hole in the wall place and if this is the standard of food at a modest price, it is a gem not to be missed

It’s so delicious! Wonderful beef fried rice noodles just $ 13 and looks like made in the Professional Chef. I never eat it for a long time. Perfect lunch for me!

I really wanted to like this place, but I ordered 5 entrees and they all pretty much tasted the same. I was getting too much liquid smoke flavor from all of them

Clay hot pots! So, so good. Rice gets crispy from the pot, served super hot. Yummy. The chicken wings are the best I have ever had. I would go here just to eat the wings. Spicy salt and pepper with peppers on the side. Always cooked to perfection. Prices are really reasonable too.
