Kung Fu Kitchen
Small place but big servings. Not recommended for dine ins because of only 4 tables. Menu is vast and food is excellent. Funky comedic name but not the dishes. Hours is 11:30am-3pm & 4:30pm-8pm
I was just wondering why did my Salt and Pepper Squid taste like Curry. I like the texture but I was not expecting that taste. Hong Kong Noodles could use more sauce. Very Good Orange Chicken!!! Great Meat and Batter!!!
Yan's China Bistro & Bar
I’ve lived in Concord for the last three years and could not find any Chinese food tasted good. Finally found one fried rice was on point and the sweet-and-sour chicken was delicious. 9 out of 10 must try again
We ordered the beef noodle soup, Sichuan chicken, fried rice and salt and pepper tofu. The beef noodle soup did not take likes traditional Lu Rou Mian the sichuan chicken tasted great but not as crispy as it could have been and the tofu had minimal flavor.
China Palace Restaurant
Usually, we went to this place only and take order to go. After today’s order we will never c come back. They dish beef with ginger is more like ginger with a little bit beef. We are very disappointed. P.S. The place is worse than I expected. Today Friday, March 28th we tried to give them one more chance. However, they firstly used their language without knowing that I understood what they said about our review. After that when my husband went to pay for this, the guy said: “I remember you, you do not like ginger beef.” Instead of improvements, you tried to put us to spot, and make us feel uncomfortable. We actually love real GINGER BEEF. Not your version if this, with a few pieces of beef. For now we are done, your place will never improve. You guys are cheap and have zero understanding how to use criticism for improvements. We will never come here again. I would not recommend this place for my friends and family.
Food was very good, specifically we had the wonton soup for 2, the house version of Hong Kong crispy noodles, bbq pork fried rice and sesame chicken. (The crispy noodle pic is after I tossed them to start softening the noodle with the sauce, they were truly crispy upon serving)
Sichuan House
Humongous portions, very flavorful. We wanted to try a couple different things and were not prepared for how much food would appear! Our favorite was the thick, round noodles served with lots of veggies.
The only reason that we are returning to this restaurant is because we have a few dishes that are absolutely amazing and is worth driving to pick up the food that we order once in a while. On the other hand, the Chinese lady at the counter is there just to collect your money without any appreciation for ordering or keeping their business alive. She is extremely rude all the time, never offer utensils and if you ask for, she is rolling her eyes. The kimchi that is always offered from the house, she only give you a super small sample lately, no matter if you order 10 dishes. If you ask for another one, always replies that they are out! She messed up the order several times and never offered to fix the problem. She make you pay for it, and she just offer to add your initial order if you pay again. Not a very good business person, not a good customer relation person, especially that she gets in contact with almost all customers. She never say thanks for ordering or anything else. She takes you money and runs away to not be able to ask for anything extra. Besides her, the food is great, like I mentioned before, but she is bringing down the business!
Panda Express
Service was very good at this location. The main item I always get was low, and instead of giving the last old bits, they made sure it was made fresh. I had to wait a few extra minutes, but that is worth it for the fresh items. Really appreciated this level of service.
Neatly maintained Panda Express. Food looked fresh and great choices including healthy one. Ordered super greens instead of rice, teriyaki chicken and string beans with chicken. Loved the food and good portions (portion was bigger for a person on keto so I shared it with my wife)
Creek House Dim Sum Restaurant
Dimsum: shrimp was fresh, chow mein was horrible, so dry, overcooked, too much oil, beef chow fun was bad, too much oil,no taste, also they put too much meat softener in the beef, made the beef taste weird. Clay pot beef stew was no taste, the beef was so chewy. Daikon cakes was too soft, the siu mai, shrimp har gaw were good. They automatically add 18% of tip on the bill if your party is 5 people or more.
So expensive. Sweet and sour pork cost $20. So tiny and not barley one person portion. See how tiny the take out tray is. You might as well go to 99 ranch for their cooked take out. Tastes the same anyway. See attached pics. and a dim sum shrimp fried meatballs are $8.99. That’s way too expensive for 3 tiny balls. We bought this for dinner. The total is over $30. Not worth it. Don’t waste your money.
Dumpling Hours
After a neighbor served up delicious food from Dumpling Hours earlier this week we had to try it for ourselves! The food did not disappoint! The Braised Beef Noodle Soup was pretty mild...The Beef was very tender. The String Beans sauteed in Garlic Sauce was fantastic!
Delicious dumplings in downtown WC- we are so lucky to have you! Showed up for dinner on a Saturday night. I worried with the line of people waiting but we were seated about 5 mins after putting our names on the list. We were a party of 2. So many dumplings to choose from. We got the ginger & scallion noodles, pan fried pork buns, pork won tons. All were delicious and perfect amount of food for 2 people. The service was incredibly quick and staff were friendly. We will be back!
Dragon's Arch
Popped in for a quick bite in Walnut Creek. Greeted with charming and attentive service at Dragon's Pond. A very clean restaurant. Food came quickly, but I didn't feel rushed as a customer. Delish! Comes with a classic fortune cookie treat!
Dragon Arch restaurant is a hidden gem in the neighborhood, with consistently delicious food and outstanding service. Every time I go there, the chef, the service, and the Owner never ceased to amaze me. Every bite is a flavor explosion. One's can definitely say the chef clearly has a passion for fresh, quality ingredients. The staff and owner are incredibly attentive and make you feel right at home. The food there is not only cook to perfection but is always the highlight of the day. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a memorable Chinese dining experience in the Walnut Creek area.
Dough Zone Dumpling House Walnut Creek
A wonderful dim sum experience! The soup dumplings are perfect. They came highly recommended and did not disappoint. We also tried the banana naan for desert, and it was light crispy, and refreshing as a palate cleanser. The staff are friendly, helpful, communicative, and down to earth. We would love to come back in the future!
This place had such nice music and atmosphere. Very clean, calm and attentive service. It was my first time at a soup dumpling place and my friend and I had never had it before. The staff was super nice and showed us how to eat the food and it was a lot of fun! I'm definitely coming back later on to try other things on the menu. All of the food together was filling but individually could make for a pleasant light meal. My favorites were the Pork Xiao Long Bao [1] and the Pan Fried Beef Pies [3] (tamale texture)
Peony Garden
We had a lovely dinner tonight for my Mom's birthday! Service was quick, very attentive and respectful. Our server made great recommendations! (Not pictured, salt and pepper wings), Mongolian fried beef, string beans & asparagus in a black bean glaze, wor wonton soup, steamed rice and the house tri dumplings. Everything was fresh, flavorful and served very quickly. I will definitely be back!
Excellent. I'm surprised I did know about this place before. It's literally next to the Las Lomas High School Across from Kaiser on Main Street. They have a private parking lot, street parking and an outdoor seating area that overlooks the creek. The decor is wonderful. Service here was great too. Food, was great. I didn't know they did dim sum dishes. I took a few photos of what we got there. Great date night place too. I added this as one of the better dim sum places to go in my dim sum bookmarks. I definitely planning on coming back, perhaps for dinner. Delicious dim sum.
Modern China Cafe
I really enjoyed the food. My friend and I ordered a variety of different things. My favorite is their pork fried rice and their orange chicken. Yum. I was pleasantly surprised because they also had a dj playing music while we were eating. He was awesome. The music was a smidge too loud but I loved it. Because the restaurant got so packed, out waitress was taking longer and longer to tend to us. That's about the only downfall and their cocktails weren't the greatest but that's not a big deal to me at least. Keep in mind that people will get up and start dancing, so be prepared for that... I definitely recommend to go and experience it.
I haven't been to a worse place to eat in a decade or more matsuri sushi in Vallejo rivals this junk. Modern China Cafe must be broke based on them falsely advertising what they're selling since both dishes (lettuce wraps and Mango Chicken) were half diced yucca or maybe jicama. Either way it was a flavorless filler vegetable that was obviously there to just fill up the plate. Both of the dishes were practically flavorless. The only flavor came from the sauce which I'd bet money was ketchup. Could be banana sauce, which is just Filipino ketchup. Either way that's it for seasoning. Barley cooked yucca and ketchup for both dishes. Sucked bad. Honestly the only food that tasted good was the lettuce and the small bone stock hoisin sauce they managed to squeeze out on a dish. The master chefs in the back nailed the lettuce wrap aesthetic when they served a head of lettuce sliced in half on a plate. Each time the server showed up his nose was running and he was sucking it back in while we were talking. After pointing out how terrible everything was the bill came out unaltered. $35 for half an ice burg lettuce, yucca root and some ketchup. Went to the bathroom and there was no soap and no paper towels. Hope this place goes out of business soon.
