HK Macau Bistro
busy Hong Kong style cafe. Best dish is Macau style curry beef brisket. We got the curry fish ball as appetizers, taste alright could be better. Everything else is pretty good except the Hainan chicken, I never have cold hainan chicken before, it’s weird to me.
We visited for lunch with 5 people and got seated quickly. The ordering took a bit of time, a lot of good options so that's on us. The food came very quickly, everything was delicious. Well seasoned and plenty if "wok" power. The service could put off some people, but it felt like a very authentic HK "no time for your BS" attitude; it was great lol. I would definitely come back, so many good dishes I haven't tried yet.
Chong Qing Special Noodles
Chong Qing Special Noodles is the first Sichuan restaurant I’ve been to and I feel as if I’ve already set the bar too high for any future Sichuan restaurants because the food here was nothing short of incredible. The Chongqing Noodles were unlike anything I’ve ever tasted before — the tingling, numbing sensation the mala leaves in your mouth is near-revelatory. And while the noodles were excellent as you’d expect, the steamed soup dumplings were equally as impressive (and better than anything I’ve ever had at Din Tai Fung). No matter where you are in LA, the trip out here is worth it.
The food here is fantastic if you like spicy and numbing. The handmade Chong Qing special noodles are my favorite. The gele mountain fried chicken is one of the best I've had, the Dan Dan noodles are delicious, we've had several versions of their dumplings and love the spicy and sour ones. The staff here are very friendly.
Sam Woo B.B.Q.
One of our favorite Hong Kong style BBQ restaurants in the area. Generally no wait necessary. They offer a large menu. You will for sure find something you like.
The lobster with noodle (with yee main) is really delicious. The wonton is flavorful. The morning glory is ok. Plenty of choices to choose from. Enormous parking lot . Fast service. The restaurant can fit almost 100 people
面馆山西
The waitresses work hard and efficiently. The Chinese food is consistently delicious. The customers are usually Chinese/Taiwanese. Do yourself a favor and try their food! Recommendations: Beef Roll Combination Fried Rice Cake Tea (to wash the palate afterwards) The photo is proof of how much I enjoyed the combination fried rice cake ;)
It is one of those authentic Chinese restaurants in the SG area. You will be able to find tasty northern Chinese noodles and pies. Nothing bad so far.
Yunnan Restaurant
We’ve been visiting Yunnan Restaurant off and on for many years. I would say they have improved and stayed consistent the last 10 months. My wife really likes the large selection of Yunnan appetizer options. Pick 3 for $14.99 for meats and $9.99 for vegetarian appetizers. Surprisingly, the services have improved as well. Food was brought to us promptly and they provided extra napkin and checked up on us. If you haven’t visited in a while, I think it’s worth a try.
I ordered 3 rice noodles, a side dish, and salt and pepper fish fillet to go. But when the food arrived, there was a huge wad of tissue papers inside the noodles. I almost threw up just looking at it—so disgusting. I threw all the food away and didn’t dare to eat it.
Golden House (Temple City)
My parents came here to eat multiple times and told me this place had good food, so we came here together for dinner. They have a good amount of tables and 3 private rooms. We were seated fast since it wasn't that full inside. We ended up ordering the lamb soup, thick green onion pancakes, duck, sauteed green beans, and pork dry tofu. They were served in around 10 minutes, not too long. The duck didn't really match my tastes but my parents enjoyed it. As for the green beans and dry tofu, both were too salty and I had to eat it with rice to stomach it. I guess people with heavier taste buds would not have a problem with those. As for the pancake, it was alright but it was seasoned a bit too heavily with black pepper. The soup was probably the best of all of them (close second would be the pancake) but was a bit too oily. The dishes overall well pretty average and somewhat lacking compared to its prices. There are much better tasting Chinese restaurants in this area at around the same price. The portions are also average. For some reason, they like to use very large plates that take up a lot of space on their small tables even though portion isn't that much. I wouldn't come back again. Probably would recommend for those who just want to give this place a try once.
Came back and saw they remodeled! Still plenty of parking in the back. Inside, the layout isn’t open anymore and has a private room. The hostess led me to this room without me asking and I was shocked/pleasantly surprised! My party had only 4 people and yet we were given the nice room (I think cause when we arrived, there weren’t many customers there). The service was great in providing water refills and when we needed to order more food. Their beef rolls are impressive!! They are crispy and super tasty! The soup dumplings are very good and flavorful and the stir fried noodles are delicious too! We ordered the house beef noodle soup but forgot to ask for it without spice, it is pretty spicy! I also loved the decoration inside the private room. Very beautiful! They also have really cool dragon chopstick holders.
Kang Kang Food Court
Best cheap and quick Chinese food eateries in town! 3 item combo only $10 and I got a bunch to go, ranging from all sorts of chicken, pork, beef dishes, grilled fish, veggies, tofu, and come up with a side of rice and seaweed egg drop soup. They also have other dumpling dishes but I always stick to the quick and dirty combo meals. Yum!
Food was all fine when we dined in in the morning. Our kids loved the Shao Mai so I got three big ones to go. When we got to eat them at night, I found mold on two of them after eating the first. The lady sold me these told me “take them all, they are all freshly made!” I can’t believe freshly made food will develop mold the same day….
