Din Tai Fung
Din Tai Fung absolutely lives up to the hype! I’ve been a regular for a while now, and it’s easily one of my favorite spots in the Bay Area. The food is consistently amazing—every visit is a treat. My go-to favorites are the chicken xiao long bao, shrimp fried rice and the spicy wontons (shrimp and pork and chicken). Both are packed with flavor, perfectly made, and incredibly satisfying. The xiao long bao, in particular, are delicate, juicy, and just so comforting. I love it so much that I make sure to stop by at least once or twice every month—and it’s the first place I take friends when they’re visiting the area. The service is usually quick and attentive, although there’s always a wait time- I’d suggest joining the wait list everytime you plan to visit this place, on weekdays-the wait is typically 2 hours and on weekends- the wait is definitely 3-4 hours. Join the waitlist and go shopping for a smooth wait time!
Delicious food and always amazing service. I always get the vegan options and friends get all the meat things. Soo yummy. If you are drinking definitely recommend a lychee martini. Servers are very knowledgeable and have great recommendations. There is always a long wait, but well worth it. Highly recommend.

Great food at great prices. They run a weekly deal for $9.99 and several monthly deals for a reduced price. The portions are generous, it took me two lunches to finish my weekly special. Many things here are self-service and there's additional chili and the likes for your dishes in the middle of the establishment. The toilet was pretty clean. It's nothing revolutionary but they're really good at doing what they're doing. Go here for quick lunch if you're in the area.
Wow. At first, I wasn't expecting much when I walked in, but this place came highly recommended to us. We ordered the special and we were all really impressed! The service was amazing and the server intentionally made sure we had enough soup in the larger pot and that the temperature would stay perfect. The food was so delicious! Of course, we probably all over ate... But what a memorable evening! I highly recommend a visit and I hope to return again! I was very impressed with the service. I would give it 6 stars, if I could.
Liang's Village
Solid Taiwanese comfort food. The sesame and peanut noodles are delicious! The vegan pork belly is good. The wonton noodle soup is so-so -- broth is blandish and the wonton has a dime sized filling. Go for the other soups. The beef noodle soup is quite flavorful. For the noodle dishes, you can request for fresh/hand-pulled noodles. For vegetarians and vegans, they have plenty of options. They even indicate in no meat dishes that lard/pork fat is used. Downside is it's pricey.
Absolutely delicious. Breakfast is amazing, highly suggest eating in store for maximum crispiness. Salivating just with the thought of the delicious food. Wish they have breakfast on weekdays too!
Shanghai Bun Dynasty
Shanghai no 1 now known as Shanghai Bun Dynasty is so yummy! I loved coming here with my family. We ordered so many yummy dishes from dim sum to salt & pepper fish to fried rice, every dish was so good! My favorite would have to be the salt & pepper fish. Everything was seasoned well and the portions were huge! Service was quick and the dumplings were so yummy. You can watch at the window and see the dumplings get made. It was super cool! Will definitely be back again with my family!
This was my first time eating Shanghainese cuisine (with the exception of things I’ve eaten at a dim sum spot before) and I was able to try out a lot of new dishes here that my friend picked out. We got there on a Sunday afternoon, it wasn’t too busy and we got seated right away and had easy access to their menu using the QR code on the table. Ordering was super easy and food started coming out within 5-10 minutes. 蒜香四季豆 Stir-fried Garlic Flavored String Beans *Rating: 10/10* - Absolute fire!! You can’t go wrong with this dish in general and this place made it to perfection. I would’ve eaten all of it if I wasn’t so full. 牛肉卷饼 Beef Roll *Rating: 10/10* - Girllll I’ve never eaten anything like this before it was so delicious. I was skeptical about the cucumber at first, but the beef, the cucumber, the wrap– all of it together was heaven! I wish I could’ve ordered more of this. 鸡蓉玉米羹 Chicken & Cream Corn Chowder/Soup *Rating: 10/10*- I love me some soup, so when I saw this on the menu I begged my friend to order it for us. It was so delicious and soothed my throat. I saved some for the next day and enjoyed it one more time. 蟹粉小笼包 Crab Roe Soup Dumplings (XLB) *Rating: 10/10* - This was some standard crab roe soup dumplings, delicious and didn’t come out TOO hot like they usually do. I was a little sad that two came with the soup spilling out already but it was enjoyable otherwise. 生煎包 Pan-fried Buns *Rating: 10/10* - Loveeed these pan-fried buns. It was the perfect combination of crispy and the typical dumpling texture. The meat inside was savory and could give me a heart attack that’s how fire it was. 葱油拌面 Scallion-Oil Mixed Noodles *Rating: 8/10* - I liked these in general and they were good, but lacking a specific flavor I was personally looking for. Still ate it up though! 糖醋小排 Shanghai Style Sweet and Sour Pork Ribs *Rating: 8/10* - Okay before I say anything this is one of the new items I tried for the first time and they were good but I wouldn’t order it for myself. I’m glad my friend shared this with me. It is indeed sweet and sour. 红烧狮子头 Braised Pork Meatballs *Rating: 8/10* - This was pretty good but I also would not order this for myself personally. I think if the rice we got on the side was more fresh I would’ve enjoyed eating it with the meatballs more. 红烧肉鹌鹑蛋 Braised Pork Belly and Quail Eggs *Rating: 6.5/10* - I was really excited that we decided to order this one but once we got it, the flavor profile did not match what I was expecting is all. It was still good, the meat was delicious but it did have like a… ginger/cinnamon flavor to it that I wasn’t a fan of? Oh loved the quail eggs though.

Came here for lunch on a Sunday with a friend and we got here early because we weren't sure how long the wait would be. Arrived at 11:45am because the place doesn't open until 11:30 am on Sunday and it was very easy for us to find parking. I've been to the Milpitas location and wanted to give this one a try since it's the same restaurant and I like it since it's a build your own noodle bowl and you even get to choose the broth base. I went with the tom yum soup base and it was delicious. I will also say that this location didn't seem to have a bottle of mala spice which I was a bit disappointed in. The seating arrangement of the store has the tables really close to each other in the restaurant.
Hi Pot
We shared one hi pot - all vegetarian. It was spicy delicious!! This is my new favorite restaurant. As appetizers, we had the pancake scallions and the hot and spicy cucumber - both were also amazing!
Worst spicy pot I’ve ever had! I don’t know how someone managed to make mala xiang guo taste like this. It looks awful too. I won’t say more—just look at the picture.
DX Braised Chicken Rice 鼎香黄焖鸡
Come here if you want the best experience for a meal. All the food here was mouthwatering. The chicken was so tender and juicy! My favorite dish was the tomato and egg rice noodles. The prices for the food wasn’t high, either. However, the wait for some of the food was a bit long. Overall, I definitely recommend this restaurant.
It’s a small place and you order with QR code. I ordered #1 classic chicken combo. The chicken with peppers tastes good but the rice is too dry, the egg soup is lukewarm. I might not come back.
Soong Soong Restaurant
We had the bamboo shoot soup with pickled and fresh streaky pork, salt and pepper pork chop, steamed sea bass, and sautéed snow pea sprout. Everything was tasty and made me feel like home. I haven't had these types of dishes in a while! The soup really warmed me up, the sea bass was delicious, and I really liked their snow pea sprout.
Extremely tasty authentic northeastern Chinese food. Good portions for sizes. The crepe rolls were very similar to the ones from China, quite large as well. The dough stick is super deep fried and crispy. We enjoyed the soups/congees as well, especially the lamb soup which is hard to find elsewhere. Server was nice as well though I think we scared him with how much we ordered 😌
Dumpling Capital
eating here was just like eating at home as a kid who grew up with parents and grandparents who often cooked for me. everything was super tasty; protein dishes had ample vegetables to help round them out. my only complaint is how msg heavy the food was as someone sensitive to it. otherwise, i would come back! tears were shed over the dumplings.
As a Northeastern Chinese who lived in different regions all across the states for 10 years, I can say this is the best dumpling I’ve had in the USA. They have rare fillings even in China like radish w/ lamb, zucchini w/ eggs, etc., which are rather regional in China. So happy when I had a chance to enjoy such good dumplings in the states. Tastes like home. The service is also very adequate, and the waitress always asks if I need any help. Definitely recommended.
Lock Chun Restaurant
Stumbled on this gem by accident and it couldn't have been any better. The staff was kind, friendly and attentive. The food was absolutely amazing and portions were quite generous! We ordered the following: .Creme cheese won tons: They were deliciously crispy and filled with a very rich cream cheese filling. You could definitely taste the scallions which I personally love. .Hunan chicken: Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, tossed in an amazing hunan sauce. Not spicy despite the peppers. Couldn't get enough of it, I literally had to stop myself from just continuing to eat until I was finished. . Combination chow main: We decided on chicken and beef, again an amazing choice. The noodles were exceptionally prepared in a great sauce, they didn't need any soy sauce or anything, they were perfect. The beef was tender but not soggy, cooked to perfection. I'm obsessed with this place, looks like they do a lot of take-out so don't hesitate to try it out! I will definitely be back, best Chinese restaurant I've found in the area!
One of the great hole in the wall restaurants in San Jose. We love the tangerine beef and order it every time we go or get takeout.
Liukoushui Chongqing Noodles 流口水重庆小面 /汤小福麻辣烫
Food is tasty. The Hainan Chicken rice and the shredded chicken were great, the pork trotter and duck were good as well. Portions are sizable and the price is excellent. Place is well lit. Service was great, waitresses are friendly and reliable. They often came to fill up tea. The desserts were well made and very tasty. Definitely would return again.
Saw there was a new malatang restaurant so had to come try it right away! This is the same setup as most malatang places... you pick out the ingredients, choose a soup base, then they cook it for you! For this place, they charge the same per-pound price for both meat and veggies. I do have to say *all* of their labels are wrong... so if you're not familiar with these ingredients, you may be quite confused. The ingredient selection is decent, but not the best variety I've seen. For example, they don't have the pork rice cake that I like :( Service was great, I was seated immediately and got some instructions since I've never been to this location before. I picked out a bunch of ingredients and chose medium spicy soup base. It was cooked quickly and served to me right away! The soup flavor is great - definitely taste the spiciness but it's not so much that you can't taste anything else. The different ingredients are cooked properly so everything tasted good! Since this is very convenient location, I definitely see myself coming back often whenever I have spicy pot cravings. They have a promotion going on so my big pot of goodies was under $15 (pre tax/tip).
Panda Express
quick easy convenient. Minh did not skimp on the meats. offered very good customer service and made me feel heard. Tram wiped my drink so that the outside was not sticky and wet when the soda overflowed. food was much better, well seasoned, and cooked well compared to other locations. very impressed today.
Margaret is so friendly and professional very friendly . tam has a positive attitude very kind and organized and Luis prepared great flavourful meals at the store, the place itself is small but ultra clean and organize with a positive vibe they definitely deserve a good salary and a great recognition. Every time that i go to the store they made feel welcome. I highly recommend them and panda
