Lumpia & Company
Been waiting to try this place. Got the small adobo bowl and the lumpia sampler. Had the classic, Gouda bacon burger and the Philly cheesesteak lumpia. The bowl was absolutely fantastic. The lumpia were good as non classic lumpia. Definitely will be back to try more
A very pleasant surprise! The food was phenomenal. The fries were sooooo tasty. My husband loved the dessert. The staff was excellent, and the chef came out to bring some food and greet us. It's a small place but still room to seat people (maybe 30 people or so). There was Christian music playing in the background, which was another pleasant and soothing element. Safe and respectful.
Hot Wok Bistro
Hot Wok is a tiny, non-descript restaurant off the grid in a commercial-office neighborhood. It doesn’t look like much inside or out, but the service is good, the food good to fantastic, the prices reasonable and the food is serviced quickly and hot. They process a lot of take out orders for the lunch crowd when I visited. The only downside; the dining area could use some updating….it is a bit dingy. Also, it is difficult to find street parking at lunchtime although the walk is not as far as it seems.
Such a lovely hidden place! Portions are huge, prices are affordable, staff is so friendly!!! Looked like all the dishes, whether rice or noodle dishes, can be made vegetarian. My friend and I had lunch specials - combo of a soup (for us it was sweet and sour) and your choice of protein with rice or salad. The sweet and sour soup was made with eggs so the lady kindly offered me to make a veggie soup for me, can you imagine?! So sweet! My tofu dish she said is vegan, no fish sauce or anything like that! If you’re in the area I strongly suggest you stop by!
Zen Noodle Bar
Small place, food was good. Price is fair. We had pork belly noddle soup, loved it. Combination noodle soup, beef wraps. All very good. Will go back again..
I was excited to try Zen Noodle Bar because the menu has lots of classic Szechuan dishes. I had the Spicy Beef Noodle Soup and Beef Wrap. Both dishes were overly sweet and had the same foul taste of cheap vegetable oil. The Spicy Beef Noodle Soup didn't have any Szechuan peppercorn numbing spice, or really any spiciness at all. The service was good, so I do appreciate that!
China Express
The Lady who was helping me had poor customer service. She spoke low and had a mask over her mouth which made it extremely hard to hear her. When I'd ask her to repeat herself she appeared to be irritated, that I couldn't hear her low tone. When my order was ready she didn't call out the order or notify me.. the other employees were professional. All that to say.. SWEET N SOUR SHRIMP is where it's at!! I'd Definitely recommend that.
China Express is a great spot for tasty and inexpensive American style Chinese Food. The menu is big and the amount of dine in seating is small. This takeout focused little place has been serving up generous portions here in Pasadena for over thirty years. My wife recently tried the Hot Szechwan Shrimp and really enjoyed it. They serve it with the chili oil on the side so you control your own spice level. We are looking forward to trying more of the menu when the next craving arises. If you happen to be craving American style Chinese food then I recommend you give this good old place a try soon.
New Wing Fat Chinese Restaurant
I’d say this place might be decent if you want family take out of crazy Chinese food. I’m sure it can be very filling. I had missed the lunch special and just wanted a plate to feed my son and I. I mentioned I just wanted orange chicken and chow mein, and they said they could do it no problem. Come to find out my small takeout plate cost $18. Not worth it.
Did not taste right and portion is very small
Fusion Bowl
Not the best fast Chinese food we’ve had - but definitely not the worst. The potato chicken and orange chicken were good; the black pepper chicken wasn’t bad, either. I also tried the barbecued pork, which was decent. However, the chow mein and fried rice were bland and needed salt; I added soy sauce to mine, which helped a little - but the chow mein noodles just weren’t great tasting at all. Ended up throwing the noodles and rice away. Service is very prompt and while not overtly friendly (I think it’s mainly a cultural thing), it was efficient and fast. The gentleman ringing me up did say to have a happy Christmas, so that was nice - nicer than many other employees we interact with this time of year. The dining area is clean and plain - nothing fancy but nothing ghetto or gross. We got our food to go, so we didn’t stay and eat. Would we go back? Honestly, probably not. But would we tell people to avoid this or go elsewhere? No. I’d say just be wary of bland chow mein; stick with the fried rice and add that soy sauce. The prices were low - so no complaint there. I guess in this case, you get what you pay for. Quick and simple fast “Chinese” food.
OMG! so much value for your money in the middle of Pasadena! we got the 3 item combo & it was more than enough for two (just look at the photo - only 10 bucks!) - you can see the pepper chicken on the left (looks a lot like orange chicken) & there is fried rice & steamed veggies (and shrimp) completely buried in there! 🦥 because of the sheer volume of ppl coming thru this place & how much they give, the turnover of food is quick so we found the terriaki chicken to be excellent!
Y&J Gourmet
Solid Chinese-American restaurant ran by Cantonese people. They seemed short-staffed due to COVID so please be patient. I called in for order and was told 30 min wait time - no biggie! SUPPORT LOCAL !! We got the pepper and salt pork chop - juicy and fried to perfection! Recommended. The fish with black bean sauce is solid too. I will ask for spicy next time for that extra kick. Great service. People wear masks.
New restaurant, delicious food, we eat string beens and beef chao fun. This was a rice noodle gluten free and we asked to have later gluten free soy sauce. Staff were courteous and we liked the service. A must visit. They have delivery with Uber Eats!
Red Corner Restaurant
MuLan noodle and grill
Loved the name so had to try it out! Also, any Chinese restaurant that have soup dumblings, I am going to try them! Their pork soup dumplings were good but their crab soup dumplings were phenomenal! I would have to say that it was the perfect wrapper, filling, soup ratio! And they had chili oil that actually was flavorful for dipping along with vinegar and soy sauce. Now the curry dry noodles were overly salty and the pork belly didn’t have great flavor or texture. Also, the soups were very salty. But the dumplings are a must!
A small Chinese restaurant which is actually quite good. The place is modern, comfortable with lots of noodles and dumpling options. There are also good variety of entrees as well. The sweet and sour chicken and braised tofu were delicious. Soup dumplings were not bad. Glad we discovered this restaurant today.
Yaya's Thai Restaurant
Had the pepper steak lunch. The portions were good but I thought the food lacked flavor. I wanted my plate spicy and it was mild at best. I'm glad I tried this restaurant but I will not be back. My coworker had the opposite experience .. her plate was too salty but our waitress was so nice about it and made things right.
What a cute tucked away little eatery. Found this spot after our first choice was take out only. So glad we did. It was quiet, the atmosphere was relaxing, and the decor was pleasant. The best part was the food. It was all fresh and delicious. You can tell this was made to order. We chose a variety of dishes probably enough to feed 7 people even though there were only 4 in our party. Large portions and so tasty!
Taste of Thai on Blvd.
Highly recommend this Thai restaurant coming from a frequent VA Beach visitor. Writing this review as I’m eating my food. Very fast service, cashier was very friendly. Hot and fresh food. Love the open kitchen setting. Tried almost all the appetizers we could get with the sauces which are all delicious. Loved their Thai green tea. Definitely check out this place if you want amazing Thai food.
We had an amazing adventure with a lively group of 27, including kids, after a fun-filled day at the beach! All we wanted was a quick bite, as we were tired and a bit sweaty, but our spirits were high. After a quick search, we found this gem of a place and decided to give it a go! From the moment we stepped in, the staff welcomed us with such enthusiasm it was infectious! They worked like each second mattered, and it truly showed in the delicious food they prepared for us—better than we could have imagined! The service was lightning fast, and the flavors were out of this world! I wholeheartedly recommend making a stop here, whether to grab a bite to go or to enjoy a meal in the cozy restaurant. The bathrooms were sparkling clean, and there’s plenty of parking, which is a huge plus for families with little ones. Overall, it was such a delightful experience, and we left with full bellies and big smiles!
Oahu Hawaiian BBQ
After walking past the Peruvian chicken place and the Bagle Bakers Deli (which both smelled AMAZING) my wife and I decided to stop in here. The menu was reasonably priced and everything on it reminded us of the time we spent in Hawaii. I almost ordered the Loco Moco but instead went for the chicken combo platter. It was served up fresh and hot with a generous portion of macaroni salad on the side. My wife got the fried fish which was also freshly prepared and came out to the table - also delicious. This is one of those genuine local eateries that you can goto on a budget and still come out feeling full of delicious food. Ono-licious!
Finally got to try it out. It was excellent, had the chicken mix plate. Chicken katsu was crispy and the sauce killer. Not usually a fan of macaroni salad but this one was fantastic. Also had the wing combo. Got the breaded wings but won’t get them breaded next time. Got the sweet and spicy sauce, just wasn’t as spicy as I would have liked.
