Do Eat Restaurant
I ordered some spinach and soups. Restaurant contacted me saying they don't have spinach and wants to know what else I want instead I told them I'll keep the soup and nothing else. I asked for refund. The female didn't respond and never refunded my spinachⁿ portion of the bill. They're dishonest and greedy I will never order from them again. The restaurant replied my review saying they don't have my card info. What a loaf of crap. They know how GrubHub works. They contacted me for a replacement order. Now they said they don't have information on my card for a refund? They can always call me to obtain the information. They knows after 48 hours they can keep the money for themselves. These greedy dishonest people I will not order and refer them to anyone else. As for GrubHub I'll never use their services again. The restaurant replied my recent update on my review. Now they're saying I ordered on GrubHub app etc ..... Once again what a loaf of crap At least they can contact GrubHub to refund me and reduce the fees paid. GrubHub and the restaurant conspires to make money the easy way to scam consumers that use their services. These greedy services providers cannot be trusted I'll contact CNN and other news media to advice consumers not to trust and use their services. To the restaurant owner you don't need to reply for further excuses. I have enough BS from you Thank you good day. I almost forgot that day I didn't speak English I spoke Chinese Cantonese to be extract. So, don't give me that your staffs not good with English. Total BS. TO ALL CURRENT AND POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS OR PATRONS BUYERS BEWARE!!!!!!!
This is my favorite go-to place to order on Doordash. I order the duck + crispy pork rice and crispy pork and rice entrees. They are always very generous with portions and flavors are consistently amazing. It is a wonderful value for the price. The scallion pancake is decent too! You won't regret it.
CHOPSTICKS CHINESE FAST FOOD
You know this place shmack when the place looks like it barely passed the safety inspection. The place is mainly ran by the old dude that smokes that cigarette before he preps your food. End result? Bussin food at an affordable price. And i mean real affordable. I’ve been going to this place as a child and i’m still living. It wouldn’t hurt to try it out, you won’t regret it.
I love this place. However, it has been closed everyday since mid November. Closed for over three months now. I'm afraid something happened to the owner. Fingers crossed they're okay and on a much deserved vacation and will return soon.
Chef Hunan
As a Chinese customer, I sincerely suggest to the owner that this restaurant needs significant improvements in both its food and service. The style of the food is quite American, which does not match its price. I ordered a fried rice and a soup. The fried rice was acceptable, but the soup was extremely unpleasant. I didn’t even finish it. When I was about to take a break and check my phone, the staff unexpectedly urged me to eat quickly. I really don’t understand this behavior. In short, I hope this restaurant can make changes and improve their food and service.
This is a mystery place that looks super old with really good affordable Chinese food but no one except locals seem to go to. Anything fried, they do exceptionally really really well. Their fried rice is top quality and their ingredients are fresh. You can tell everything is freshly made. Ok so the dine in experience isn't the best. Their rundown indoor and table almost look like it could be dirty but they are not. You get a fresh pot of tea even if you dine alone and not many places in SF you can dine in for lunch under $15 that actually has food you want to eat. Oh forgot to mention their chili oil. Don't know it's in house or bought but it's so good. Not brunt and clear deep red with just the right amount of heat and flavor. Recommend.
Dim Sum King
The ABSOLUTE BEST dim sum i’ve ever had!!Plus it was a great price. A real hidden gem! You don’t come to a dim sum place for the atmosphere, you come for the quality!!!
What a good find. Food was above average and extra star for the price. We got 5 dim sum items, a bun, and a milk tea for $22. The crispy BBQ bun is EXCELLENT. The rice noodles rolls and pot stickers were really good too! The shrimp dumplings and glutinous rice dumpling were mid tho. The place had some seating so you can eat there. Parking is difficult. Have to spend over $20 for credit card use so bring cash or bring an empty stomach.
Ying Hui Chinese Restaurant
A non descript neighborhood Chinese restaurant near the intersection of Geneva and Mission, Ying Hui offers a broad selection of low priced Cantonese food. Located in front of the bus stop near a gritty intersection, Ying Hui isn't a great dining destination but for those in the know, and those in the neighborhood know, this restaurant offers good food at low prices. A popular item is their roast duck. It looks like they use fresh and not frozen ducks for roasting. It is apparent when you eat it. Currently a roast duck is $20 Call and Order ahead on the phone and have someone drive you over there to pick up. Take it home (whole), heat it back up in an oven to crisp the skin and then cut it up Chinese style into bite size pieces. It's worth the effort . Their roast pork is delicious too.
I hate to write a bad review since so many restaurants in SF closed and went through the pandemic, but I left this restaurant feeling very upset and angry after having lunch here with my parents and aunt. I ordered the medium clay pot with chicken and mushroom, cauliflowers with pork belly, and beef rice roll. They gave us complimentary tea which is nice, but no food came out until 20 minutes later after we complained. She said the clay pot normally would take at least 30 minutes, but because ours is medium size, then they need more time. She didn't warn us about the time when I ordered and nothing was stated on the menu about how long it'll take. I said what about the other food. Then she bought out the beef rice rolls. It was yummy but not what I expected. I expected the dim sum style which is wider and thicker, but these are the skinny kind with 4 long rolls. The cauliflowers with pork belly was too salty with too much soy sauce added. The clay pot finally came out, but the rice was still kind of hard and I saw redness on the chicken. I complained angrily so the waitress brought it back in to cook longer but with no apology. Thank God I have sharp eyes and realized it was undercooked, or else we could've gotten foodborne illness. After 15 more mins, the clay pot came back out and this time it was yummy. By then we were already there for 1 hours 45 minutes. We were not in a rush today, but they should've written on the menu that the medium clay pot can take up to 45 minutes to cook. At other restaurants I've been to, usually they prep it beforehand so it would only take 15 minutes. But here everything is done from scratch so it took a really long time. At the end, I left the minimum tip 10% due to my frustration but the waitress still had the audacity to complain that my tip was low. I'm definitely not coming back though after the poor service, undercooked clay pot, and overly salty vegetables. Also, they left the door open the whole time probably due to being Covid cautious, but no one closed it even when there was a guy outside smoking. We complained about the cigarette smell, but no one did anything about it. The only thing that’s nice about this restaurant is there are 2 restrooms on the first floor with no stairs so it’s easily accessible for my aunt who is on a wheelchair.
