Hong Kong Fastfood
Impressed on My First Visit! It was my first time at Hong Kong Express, and I was really impressed! The food was fresh, flavorful, and the portions were generous. The staff was welcoming and the service was fast. I’ll definitely be coming back!
I usually come to this place 2 to 4 times a month-not too often, but often enough because the food taste really good. In my opinion, their best item is the barbecue pork. Unfortunately, today I had a bad experience. Their portions are usually generous, but today, I felt like I was at panda Express the portion was very limited. I don't mind paying more for my food if the portions are fair, but today was very disappointing, I'll give this place just one more try to see if it was just the older asian worker serving poorly, or if this is their new policy-serving worst portions than panda.
Long Life Vegi House
I’ve been a big fan of Long Life since 2012. Local mom and pop spot with one of the best lunch specials in the Bay—$15 for delicious hot and sour soup, spring roll, and a huge plate of delicious vegetarian food. My go-to is the broccoli “chicken” add mushrooms in spicy garlic sauce. Sooo tasty.
All vegetarian, can be made vegan. Squeaky clean new facility, family run with pride and enthusiastic service. Paper plates, not trying to be Chez Panisse. Very fair prices. Street parking. Look for address, sign in front is small. I love these family run ethnic restaurants. Went to old location for decades.
Ben Ben Hot Pot
Authentic and affordable unlimited, personal Chinese hot pot spot. They have a lot of great options with delicious soup (recommend their house made pork and chicken broth). Besides accessible toppings behind glass doors, they also have a sauce bar, small side dishes, and a dessert area that also has a few beverages. It wasn't too busy when we visited on a weekday night, but their lunch pricing is very affordable. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, helping clear plates and provide direction!
I recommend this place 100% AND I MEAN ONE HUNDRED PERCENT!!! This place has the best tasting soup, the best and friendliest staff, and the lowest prices of any Hot pot place in the East Bay! And their self-serve system means nothing goes to waste, you control the heat of the hot pot, you decide what goes in the pot, and the selections are incredible! If the prices are a little steep at Hot pot Nation, and you don't like the attitude at tasty pot, (they have been rude with me several times for no reason, I don't go there anymore), then. THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. 5 OUT OF FIVE STARS. 最好的口味!最好的服务,最好的价格!
Nash Café
In a nutshell; great chinese food in the day, even greater at midnight. Stopped by here to get some good food and something to warm the eve. As the nights were cool and breezy after a days activities. Parking can be a pain as you can only get lucky with street parking and can be tough when there's an event nearby or the aftermath of one. Nonetheless, place served great food even when you're the only customers during the late nights. Overall would stop by again if ever in Berkeley.
Delicious and authentic mainland food! The meat skewers were seasoned to perfection, the cold dishes were refreshing and tasty. Everything came super fast and piping hot. Excited to come back and try more!
Wong's Golden Palace
Stopped by for dinner, didn't look like much, thought it was closed but wow was I surprised, the food is authentic Cantonese fare which was tasty but the best part was the full bar that's attached to the restaurant, it almost looks like a separate place but the bartender was a sweetheart, nice heavy pours, reasonable prices and really great friendly locals, I'm going back for sure!
Who ever the manager is should be highly ashamed of themselves. This poor older waitress was running the bar, dining room, and phones all by herself. Poor thing was so so beyond her mental means. Anyways, food was good. Seating is small if you have an infant. The windows I smelt cig smoke through from the outside (gross). The prices are alittle steep. They offer quite a bit. I would say staff if friendly but only one person was working. But she was great. No baby changing station. Decent parking.
Wei Wei Asian Express
This was my first visit, and I came for the salt n pepper chicken wings. Counter and table service was friendly and welcoming. We also ordered the house fried rice to go with our wings. It was moist, really tasty, and flavorful without adding any soy sauce.
I love salt and pepper chicken wings. After seeing an Instagram video online about this place rivaling a National City legend, I had to check it out. I went on a Saturday afternoon. There was plenty of parking and available seating inside. I ordered a dozen wings, vegetable fried rice, and a lemon black tea. The wings were crunchy and satisfying. They were crispy without being greasy. The flavor was awesome. The tea was great and the rice was decent.
Panda Express
I come here all the time and get same thing . Plate white rice and double black angus steak which they charge extra for . Blown away on how many vegetables and barley any meat is reason for my review. I even paid for another small side of steak and once again mainly vegetables. Over price for vegetables! Zero star if I was able to.
im not the type to leave reviews usually because i also work customer service and am very understanding i dont have high expectations for fast food, this place used to be okay idk if its the new staff or something but after making us wait as usual, then getting our order wrong, they dumped out part of my plate and gave it back to me instead of replacing it, blamed us for their mistake, and after further inspection i found hair in it. never coming back, gross and rude.
Big Skyy Bistro
Definitely my go to Chinese food spot in the IE. Their food never fails me, especially the egg drop soup. They also have really good chicken fried rice and their soup dumplings are so yummy. The portions are also pretty big so you can share. I always come here with my family or my fiancé. The service is always amazing and staff is nice. I always get the milk tea as well and it's basically unlimited refills. It's also spacious inside, has good parking and many options to choose from on the menu. :)
Not your traditional push cart dim sum but who cares when the dumplings be DUMPIN’! And by that I mean delicious. We ordered 5 different types and all were amazing. Soup dumplings were our favorite! The staff was very friendly and attentive…definitely will go back next time in Riverside.
Canton Chinese Food
Today was my party, and I accidentally came to this Chinese fast food restaurant. I found that they not only have steamed dishes, but also a lot of items, as well as vegetarian meals. My mother will be very happy to have so many vegetarian dishes. For meals, this store is very tidy overall. There are many customers during lunch time, but I waited about 15 minutes to get all my party trays. The food was served very quickly, and they were very enthusiastic to introduce it to me. When I was hesitant to choose the steak roll, , they let me try the sample, it was amazingly delicious, I believe this is their specialty, I am very satisfied with today’s experience, see you next time!
This is my first visit to this restaurant after five years of absence. I came to this restaurant again after hearing my colleague's introduction and reading the reviews. My colleague said that the owner of this restaurant has changed, the dishes are very good, very fresh, and there are many varieties of dishes. The hygiene of the restaurant is very good and clean. Because I came to this restaurant five years ago, the quality of the dishes was very poor, the taste was really not flattering, there were few varieties, the beef was very hard, and the dishes were very dry. Of course, these were all managed by the previous owner and have become a thing of the past. I came to this restaurant again for the mentality of trying, and when I went in, I found that they really changed people, and then I took a look at the dishes and I liked it because as my colleague said, there are many varieties and they are very fresh. They have chicken, beef, shrimp, fish, just like a buffet. Their staff is also very enthusiastic, and they let me try several dishes when they saw that it was my first time. I finally ordered hot & spicy fish and honey walnut shrimp. When I was checking out, I chatted with their staff and told them that today was my birthday. Then they enthusiastically gave me a steak roll and told me that this was the best-selling roll in their store and that you couldn't buy it anywhere else. It was really delicious and I had never tasted it before. Their hot & spicy fish was something I had never seen in other fast food restaurants. I think it has become my first choice. I can't wait to come back and try their other dishes.
China Wok
I think that China Wok is a 3.5 star rating for me… Due to the average ratings being over 4, I will round down to 3. Although some reviews mention a buffet, this current location does not have one. I believe this restaurant used to be located a block down and did have a buffet space. The takeout is ready fairly quickly. The food is good, but not exemplary. I would definitely eat food here again, but I would also check out other places in the area to see if I could find a better option. The portions are ample for the price. The seating in restaurant is fairly limited. You could certainly eat a quick bite here, but I wouldn’t settle in for a long dinner here.
I lived in Asia for 24 years, more specifically Indonesia. The food at China wok is excellent and very fairly priced. The crew who work here are extremely friendly, accommodating and hard working. They always remember you and do their best to satisfy your every need. I now live across town and still return if Chinese food is on the menu. While I've eaten here many times, it's mostly a takeout type of resto.
QQ Express
I was looking for some fast food Chinese food today and found reviews of this restaurant in the area. I read reviews of peanut butter chicken and generous portions and figured what do I have to lose. Both of these were on point descriptions. Not the highest quality meat but what one could expect in a college basement restaurant. The staff was nice and actually shared a recommendation/opinion which I appreciated. The price was higher than what I expected but likely more in line with inflation. Parking is essentially nonexistent but I suspect most customers come from campus. There is some loading parking on lorch st where about two cars may be able to fit/stop. I would go there again…
The best place to eat if you are broke and you need some protein and calories intake. It gets slightly greasy as you eat it, but you’ll get the random craving time to time. QQ saved me from this economy 🐼🐼
Senjoy Chinese Cuisine
The food was amazing and the portion size was crazy for just $11. The service was nice the owner gave me a free drink to try! Crab Rangoon was really delicious and big. Good price for the quality and the portion. Willing to come back for a different menu!
The GOAT. Huge portions for like $12.50. Huge variety of meats too. Inside looks great and service is fast. Would recommend.
