The best Chinese restaurant on campus, and it was an incredible experience! The food was delicious, with a great variety of authentic dishes. The customer service was outstanding; the staff were friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome. The service was impressively fast, making it perfect for a quick, satisfying meal between classes. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for amazing food and a pleasant dining experience. I’ll definitely be coming back!

They've gone through various pricing methods since they've opened. The current one (third version?) is certainly better than the previous one with the pre made bowls because now you can just pick and choose what you want, and they price you based on the weight, Yogurt World style. I have no idea what $0.79 per ounce means, so I tried to be conservative with what I got, but it ended up being $11 anyways. It wasn't super filling. I like that they have rice bowls for $1, two for $1.5. I like rice, and dining halls don't give a decent amount of good rice, so this is passable. There was a free food event with food from Fan Fan, but I didn't see many of the meat options I saw there. Whatever, maybe my eyes are bad. The orange chicken is nice and sweet and I also like the saltiness of the white fish and the mapo tofu is good too. What's truly interesting, though, is their midnight menu. I have yet to try it, but from what I observed and what other people there told me, it's a build your own hot pot where they charge based on the weight of the dry ingredients before they add soup. You put the ingredients in a wiped down bowl and then you wait with a buzzer until they add soup to it. It's $9.99/lb and I don't think I would get a pound of noodles, so this sets an upper limit of $10, which sounds like a great deal. I was skeptical about a "great" Chinese spot in La Jolla, but Chin's delivered in a serious way. The service was very slow to take our order, but once we got started, the service was great the rest of the night. The staff was warm and inviting, and they made sure we had everything we needed. We got the pan fried pork potstickers (solid - more dough-y than I prefer), tangerine beef (a little too fruit-forward with the glaze), Szechwan crispy pork (delicious), ku ting shrimp (a hit across the table) and spicy honey & sesame chicken (the crowd favorite of the night). Not pictured: crispy wontons and seafood fried rice (the table liked both). The space is small, but the portions are HUGE. Four of us were eating, and we took home at least half of three entrees. I'd love to return to try more savory dishes...and hopefully more veggies. Well done, Chin's!

Their food is great. Their spicy scale is 1 to 5 and the 5 is hot, I was not disappointed. Their chicken wings are delish. Be prepared to wait. It is a small dining area and very popular. take out order is a wait as well. They are not fast, but they hustle and it is worth it.

This place has been my go-to Chinese restaurant for 30+ years. It’s so good and. Orbing has changed (in a good way)! The portions are huge; the flavors are delicious; they don’t skimp on the meat/don’t use a bunch of filler veggies; and the service is always so friendly and quick. I just love this place!

Dropped in for lunch. We heard this place can be busy. Lunch is a good time to go. Food was amazing! Better than expected. Thought we would have leftovers, but could not stop eating. Highly recommended. Nelson, GO BLUE

I want to like it so much but every single time, the beef and brocoli is unflavored because they use plain steamed brocoli with no flavor. They combine plain steamed brocoli with lightly sauced beef and the sauce should be flavoring the broccoli as well. Its so plain, its hard to eat when not what you ordered, like chewing a tree when you were expecting some lubrication/flavor. I wish they'd give the broccoli a little toss with the beef sauce together before serving it. And the rice is always so dry it barely goes down the throat. If those things were taken care of, I'd attend more frequently.

Wonderful, quaint place with fresh delicious food! We shared the Fried Dumplings, House Fried Rice and Lemon Chicken. Lots of flavor, generous portions just enough for two (maybe 3 but we were hungry... hahaha) Definitely will be back when in La Jolla... just a short walk from our favorite hotel too.

The food is edible but totally bland and eminently forgettable, if abundant. We ordered egg rolls that were dry and tasteless, but crispy. The crust was the best part. We also ordered shrimp fried rice, which lacked seasoning and required generous applications of soy sauce or sweet and sour sauce for any flavor at all, but had a goodly number of shrimp. Our "spicy" Kung Pao shrimp had a few peppers in it, but totally lacked spiciness. We won't return. Bland, bland, bland.
