City Dragon
Looks like the portions are a little smaller but, in these times, I can understand. Once again, Men star the on line ordering screws up by charging my card, telling me it was declined and not sending my order. Save yourself the frustration, go in and order it call your order in.
I hadn’t been here since it stopped being fast casual. That was a surprise. Unfortunately, that means everything is made to order and I didn’t know what it looked like. We got 4 dishes and besides the noodles, the 3 other chicken and seafood dishes were fried which was disappointing. If you like fried Chinese food with sauce, then you’ll like this place.
Minh Ky Restaurant
This is the best beef tendon look fun I had in San Diego so far. The broth looks spicy, but it was mild and flavorful. I would order this again. Some other dishes looks good too that l am willing to try next time.
I love the food here! Duck egg noodles were great, also the chef’s special steak was amazing! Big portion with reasonable price, definitely will return.
New Maxim's Palace
Great place for Chinese food and close late too. We came here for dinner after visiting the local zoo. Eight dishes were ordered and they made them quickly. The lady taking the order was very friendly. The restrooms were clean but had a strong smell of moth balls. There is free parking but most of the spaces are small.
Another little gem in the city of San Diego, I only had an issue with the portion size was too small for the price, but on a good note, their honey walnut shrimp reminded me of my visit to Chinatown in San Francisco. That was very hard to do because you have never tasted Chinese food until you tried it in Chinatown in San Francisco. And they practically mirrored the flavor.
Great Wall Express
Chow mein here is amazing, for some odd reason it just reminds me of how it tasted the first time I ever had it. Which is why I would always come here for the chow mein. But it’s really all about the one two…chow mein and black bean soup. So so good, easy for college kids and suburbs to get to as well. Super affordable and if you have this place as an option while you’re in the area, go for it over anything similar, especially if you’re on the go.
Large portions, hot fresh food. We got 2 orders of three items for $8.99 each but we would have had enough food for both of us just ordering one. The orange chicken was perfect along with the sweet and sour chicken. My husband got fried chicken, also delicious. Service was fast and the cashier was really nice! I forgot to take photos, sorry! We were really hungry! I will get photos next visit!
