Dim Sum Box
Open daily from 8am to 3pm, Dim Sum Box in San Gabriel, California, in the SGV (San Gabriel Valley), has the best value with most of their dishes priced at $5.49. That’s 24 traditional dishes to choose from, both savory and sweet and everything in between🫶🏼 First time trying dimsum or don’t know what to get? Order this lineup and thank me later: 🥟Shrimp Dumplings (Har Gau) 🦐Shrimp Siu Mai 🍗Chicken Feet 🧁Malay Sponge Cake 🐷BBQ Pork Bun 🍘Sticky Rice Chicken Wrap Turnip Cake with Dry Scallops 🍮Baked Egg Custard Tarts 🥐The Embassy Kitchen Special Buns 🦐Shrimp Rice Roll 🍘Sesame Red Bean Balls 🫔Seafood Egg Rolls 🍲Pork Congee
The egg yolk bun is sooooo good! Even better than the ones I’ve had in other popular dim sum places on the area!
澳門茶餐廳 Macao Cafe
Macanese is an exotic result of Portuguese and Chinese food combined and known as quite possibly the first fusion cuisine ever? You can find generous portions of just that at Macao Cafe in San Gabriel in my very own SGV (San Gabriel Valley)🫶🏼 First time trying this fusion cuisine? Order this lineup and thank me later: 🍞Macau Milk Toast 🥘Roti Candi with Curry Chicken 🍜House Signature Fried Noodles 🐷Pork Chop Rice 🥟Shrimp Wonton Soup 🍋Iced Lemon Tea
Whenever I don’t feel like cooking, I’ll bring the whole family here for a meal. The decor reminds me of a Hong Kong street-style diner from 20 years ago, and the flavors are pretty authentic too. Highly recommend the Stir-Fried Beef Rice Noodles, Macau Milk Toast, and Baked Bolognese Spaghetti—these three are our must-orders every time. We’ll add other dishes depending on the day. The stir-fried rice noodles have tender beef and are packed with wok-fried aroma. The toast is crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and tastes amazing with condensed milk. The spaghetti is for the kids—every time, it manages to fill up our two little picky eaters.
Tam's Noodle House
It's an okay place. Tug in the corner of the plaza i usually missed its existence. Very old school HK cafe. For what I ordered - wonton noodle and beef stew dry wide egg noodle, it's pretty good. Better value then down the street at Alice's Kitchen. I think the outside section fares better for lunch than sitting inside, it's kind of on the small side. Sadly the outside patio doesn't have much view to speak of but it is a distance away from the busy streets unlike other venues- definitely a good distinction from others where you would feel the draft from traffic. They have bulk frozen dumplings of various meats for sale as well. Good place for a quick lunch.
Delicious food. Porch chop in honey sauce was amazing as well as the beef rice roll. Parking sucks up too but there’s a structure directly behind and a short walk up. Definitely coming back.
