China Gourmet Restaurant
I took note of this place from an "Eat Your Way Through Chinatown"-type of article. The recommended dishes in said article were the fried chicken with chilis and the Pig's feet soup. Of the two dishes I tried the Golden Pig's Trotter dish, as I like to try weird stuff. It was a little intimidating to eat, but it was really good, and you got a large portion for a reasonable price. I would order it again, and I plan to go back to try the chicken dish sometime.
Amazing food, me and 3 friends went out to eat here and had an great time. The staff were also extremely nice when we had a card related issue and needed a moment to sort it out. Highly recommend their mini pork dumplings. There was a decent amount of drink options but all pretty standard stuff that were in bottles or cans.
Gaga Seafood Restaurant
Worth a try to have different rice plates and crispy chicken. Not a great place with nice ambience however, the food we tried filled the gap. Food portion was good enough for to for a single menu item. Service was not that great as we would prefer some one to talk a bit and explain the menu and serve happily however, it seemed they prefer more of local clientelle. Seafood is definitely overpriced. Would recommend to try this restaurant for takeaway (choice of rices, crispy chicken and dim sums).
I came here for lobsters because they have a special for 2 lobsters for $46 but tbh other than beef chow fen I can't recommend anything else. The lobsters are small but given the price I will let it slide. The satay beef is super weird. They give large portions but they also added clear noodle which is super weird and not very delicious with not enough satay sauce. The steamed giant clam is priced $7 a piece but they basically spread 1.5 clams with a lot of clear noodle to make it look like 3 giant clams with 3 shells so if you do the math they are not as cheap as they make them out to be. I'd rather they charge full price like $10 but gives you the actual full amount. I know this because I cook at home and then I know how much meat is in 1 clam. As for lobster I have a feeling they just cook a bunch and give you pieces with 2 heads but they are alright. The best is beef chow fen which is surprisingly good. This is a cheap restaurant so ambience sucks with noisy diners and crammed seating. Don't take your date unless you've been together for a long time. Service is typical Chinese service fast and efficient but not attentive.
Shōjō Boston
This place is so good! I love chicken and waffles and someone recommended I check it out for this reason and I was not disappointed! The chicken and waffles were delicious along with the kimchi fried rice and the burger! The cocktails were also delicious and so perfectly crafted! The prices were very good, especially for Boston! It has a very cool vibe and they were playing great Latin music! Definitely check it out!
We had the pleasure of lunch at Shōjō Boston on a Wednesday afternoon, and it was a truly delightful experience. From the moment we stepped in, we were impressed by the restaurant's beautifully decorated interior—modern yet inviting, with a unique flair that made it feel special. The service was exceptional. The waitstaff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, ensuring that our experience was seamless from start to finish. Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor, showcasing the restaurant’s commitment to quality and creativity. We truly enjoyed every bite, and the food was both delicious and visually stunning.Overall, Shōjō Boston exceeded our expectations. Whether you're looking for a casual meal or a place to celebrate, this spot is definitely worth a visit. We can’t wait to return!
Show Malatang
Good comfort food, tasty sour and definitely was not stingy with the toppings! Pig ear was good but brought down the rating a bit, because it still had the pig smell to it. I realized it was a self serving place after 5 minutes of looking around because the server didn’t say anything to me, haha super awkward. Overall it was a good experience!
My favorite malatang place in Boston! The broth is super flavorful and spicy. They do not hold back on the portions. Gets you full for a good price. I go here at least once a month lol
China Pearl Restaurant
All of this with tax and tip was $30 which I thought was quite pricey for dim sums…so definitely bring 2-3 people to split dim sums with I liked the shui mai the best, it was plump and juicy and filled with bunch of shrimps and pork filling. Would definitely get that again. It was also the biggest shui mai I ever seen too. The chicken feet was objectively good too. I think it was at least 10 chicken feet for $9 which wasn’t too bad? I don’t know it was my first time trying chicken feet The thousand-year egg congee is the one I have issues with because it left such bitter taste in my mouth like so gross. Also the congee itself didn’t look quite clean and freshly made so I ended up eating only half of it. Also there is $1.50 dimsum charge that’s automatically added to your bill and I think that covers the tea. But the restrooms are super clean and the remodeled place is very spacious and nice so I would give this place another try but make sure to bring 2-3 ppl and avoid congee and order other stuff instead
Nice quiet ambience. This place served dim sum as well. Quite disappointed with the Hong Kong style Lobster, not the usual style I had before, do enjoy their salted fish fried rice..
Mimi’s Chūka Diner
We really appreciate the food here and definitely will come back to try more on the menu. We had 2 kinds of dumplings which made in house and it is definitely one of the best dumpling I had in Boston area. I wish they have pan-fried version of gyoza though which will boost the flavor and texture. We also ordered ebi chilli and subuta. We love flavor which I dont think you can find in the area. They are really delicate with their dish. Their cocktail is also really good though. I would encourage people to come here and explore all the flavor. It’s a fun experience!!
Mimi’s Chuka Diner is a unique and delicious establishment, tucked away inside Aeronaut. I may be biased, but I’ve followed Mimi’s Chuka and its owner Ted since they initially started as a frozen gyoza delivery service during the pandemic. I am very happy to see them growing over the years, now with its own space. Of course, you have to try their original pork gyoza, but their other dishes are also worth exploring. The matzah ball and wonton soup is great for sharing (or just as an appetizer for one). I love the mabo tofu and ebi chili dishes, with a big side of white rice. The rotating drinks menu also is excellent and worth a try, blending Asian flavors like lychee, jasmine tea, shiso with spirits. Overall, I highly recommend visiting Mimi’s Chuka Diner inside the Aeronaut.
Fortune Express Cuisine
You remember that old saying “you get what you pay for?” Fortune express is yet another example of when this old timey phrase rings true. The quality of the food is the best in Pittsfield, bar none. The teriyaki beef sticks were tender and delicious, and the sesame chicken stayed crispy despite a short drive home. Everything here tasted fresher and lighter than nearby competition. We’re willing to pay a little extra to come back again and again!
I stopped here after discovering that they had Japanese, and Asian Cuisine. The food was delicious and rivaled any Asian food I had had in the Pittsfield Massachusetts area. I was so excited to find this unknown gem with excellent food. The quality and portions are sure to please a hungry soul.
Panda Garden
Have been ordering here for years, its always been just "okay" quick and reasonably priced take out. Got food yesterday and have to say that I feel as though they have significantly stepped up their game as of recent. Everything was exceptionally fresh, hot and spot on.
Edit 2/21/24 this place never fails me. Sweet and sour chicken is delicious, big chunks of real white meat chicken that are juicy and full of flavor, egg rolls are always crispy and golden brown, and they pay so much attention to the small details that quickly make a dinner a dinner or make a dinner a favorite. The smallest request is always met and exceeds expectations. I love this place for Chinese food I have nothing but good things to say still to this fay 10/27/23 if you haven’t had Panda Garden or haven’t in awhile, get it you won’t regret it. okay panda garden, you guys really out did yourselves this time. AMAZING. Perfect. We are STILL raving about it hours later. UgEdit 2/26/23 I put in so many little requests on my online order tonight and Panda Garden didn’t miss a single detail. I enjoyed Chinese cuisine more tonight than I ever I have before it was completely perfect. They are always good but tonight was just really perfectly done I am so pleased and so is my family. Thanks guys! FAST SERVICE GREAT FOOD!
P.F. Chang's
Always great food and service every time we come here. The waitstaff is very attentive and helpful. The food is always good and timely. The ambiance, the lighting, the noise level, is just intimate enough. Always a great experience.
My curry noodles were wet and too sweet. I didn’t like the skinny hard noodles. Happy hour is no longer everyday and all day. It is now 3-6 Monday to Friday. On the menu they spelled desserts wrong 😑
Jade Garden
Jade Garden is a long standing Chinese restaurant specializing in Southern Chinese cuisine. It is open late, making it a perfect space for late night eats or larger celebrations. Staff are friendly and accommodating, does help if you speak Cantonese but many staff speak in English as well. The food is pretty good for Chinese American dishes. The salt & pepper squid is pretty good at this establishment, lightly fried but has good flavor with the pepper. The soups are also pretty good and has many other dishes that are staples for Chinese cuisine. The dishes are served family style like many other establishments, making it very worth if coming with a large party.
Twin lobster for $52.95. The stir-fried lobster with garlic and scallions is a masterpiece, featuring juicy, fresh lobster chunks that are perfectly bouncy and tender. Free red bean soup is good too!
Su Su Gourmet
The most authentic food that I have ever had in the US, also very new customer friendly. It is an experience you should never miss out on.
Hidden gem! Very tasty and authentic food! We ordered lotus root with braised pig trotter and stir fried green pepper and tofu. The next door ordered bao zai fan and it smelled so good! Wish it’s warmer during winter though as the door opens directly to outside.
Winsor Dim Sum Café
I’ve found my go-to dim sum spot!! Windsor Dim Sum Cafe is absolutely awesome. Every dish we tried was packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. The food was fresh, hot, and absolutely delicious. Plus, the service was quick, and the staff was super friendly and welcoming. Already planned my next trip here ♨️
Google reviews scared me but Reddit locals swear by Windsor so we stopped in on Sunday for lunch. We loved everything, the staff was helpful with the menu, the hot tea was very good. The dim sum arrived to the table fast and was very fresh! Since there were only 2 of us we did share a big round table with 3 others patrons with no issues. It’s a very small place but we didn’t have to wait. We recommend the soup dumplings, steamed pork buns, sticky rice in lotus leaf wrap, and the scallion pancakes. That’s everything we ordered, didn’t have a bad bite at all. All dim sum was 6.95 per plate. 2 plates per person (shared) was all we could do before we were full.
