Tai Pan House
My brother has been telling me to try this restaurant and today he treated us for lunch. The place and ambiance is okay. Overall, it is clean, including the restroom. But we came here for the food and it is amazing. The taste, the serving size, the freshness is all good. This is one of my favorite spots now for Chinese food. Similar to Sam Woo (no longer in business) in Nogales and Gale Ave. Definitely coming back for more.
Recently visited. This place gives ZERO service. The female owner sat us down (the second group of customers in the entire place) then forgot about us. She went back to her seat and played games on her cellphone behind the front counter (we could hear the game, sounded like slot machine). The counter was so high, from where we sat, we couldn't see the lady = the lady wouldn't be able to see us without coming to us. We waited for 10-15 minutes, finally I had my husband to go get her attention. I honestly started to think she forgot about us. I can understand not getting service/attention if the place was busy, but there were a total of two tables of customers at the time! We ordered. See for yourself, nothing special, seriously. It was pricey compared. I wouldn't mind paying the high price if the service was good and food was good. However, what we've received, it was horrible. My family will not be returning. I will not recommend this place to anyone. I can get much better Chinese food for cheaper with MUCH better service.
China Point
How does this place have so many positive reviews and stars?!!!!! China Point is awful. I mean, just awful!!!!!!!!!!! This place used to be good in the 90s. I thought I would take a trip down memory lane. Never again. Do not waste your money or time! Plus, the restaurant is extremely dated with ripped and torn booths!!!! Also, the restrooms are filthy!
I went there with high expectations because of the good reviews and ratings. Unfortunately, the food I ordered was not that great. I couldn't finish it. Still, they were very friendly and the atmosphere was great. I will try other dishes later. I personally don't recommend the Jjamppong. It wasn't the spicy and refreshing style I was looking for. I will order it again later and update. Other people around me ordered the lunch menu and they all seemed satisfied and enjoyed it. I think the food will suit Chinese people.
Fresh Wok
The orange chicken was all batter no actual chicken meat, even the bigger pieces were just frying batter. The rest of the food was just okay.
Quantity of a combo is huge. I don’t know how can they put 3 plate of food into a single box. Tastes like normal Chinese Fast food.
