It is rarely to enjoy 5 stars service (fast, nice, accurate and clear explanation) and food (fast, no msg, enough meat but thin dim sum wrappers) in Bay Area no matter in Chinese or non Chinese restaurants. While waiting for the food, my brother and I were absolutely sure the food must be imported from other factories or stores because the pictures on the menu looked exactly same like other most of restaurants. Then, when we saw the real food. Both of us said we guessed right and laughed. However, after we tried the dim sums, we were pretty sure the food were truly made in this small restaurant!!! hahaha!

Actually surprised about how good the food would be. I would have never known if I went with the reviews. But the pan fried was coated lightly and perfectly fried, everything tasted so good and the congee had fine slices of ginger. The tripe was fresh and delicious in flavor. And the beef rice rolls had a really thin layer… everything was delicious and perfectly portioned!

The dim sum here is top-notch—everything tasted fresh and flavorful, especially the shrimp dumplings and pork buns. The staff was attentive, ensuring our teapots were always full. However, the restaurant gets quite crowded on weekends, leading to longer wait times. Also, some dishes felt a bit pricey for the portion size. Overall, a solid spot for a hearty dim sum brunch.

While photographing venues for Alameda Restaurant Week, I made sure to include East Ocean Seafood Restaurant, a dim sum institution on the island. Everything tastes notably fresh, and it's a massive, perfect spot for large parties. The place is never not packed - a testament to its popularity and quality.

♿️Chef’s Wok has a wheelchair accessible seating, entrance and toilet. For entrances, there are no steps to enter. Amazing dim sum, great family friendly restaurant. Definitely worth the wait. Siu Mai, Shrimp Dumplings, Peking Duck, broccoli were our table’s favorites.

We planned a get together with 35 people. More people showed up than expected. -40 Our contact had pre-negotiated a flat rate (tax & tip included) for a fixed menu. Everyone paid cash on the spot. Service was okay. Apparently they needed to swap out one item for another. The food was fresh and tasty. I tried things I'd never tried before like a black sesame roll I would have preferred a menu that includes some vegetables, soup and less balls/dumplings. I presume such things are available, they just weren't included for our event.

Many of my favorite dim sum spots have closed over the years, and thankfully, we found Ming's Tasty, and I will keep coming back. The service is excellent! The food is delicious! Be sure to have the chicken feet with Peking sauce. Thank you Ming's for many delicious meals.

A classic authentic Chinese cafe with delicious quality dim sum. Service was friendly and fast. You know it’s good when all the Chinese folks eat here. It was a little loud and busy at lunch but soon was quiet and relaxed, even though all the tables were full. This will be my go-to spot in Oakland.

Apparently it used to be a restaurant, but it’s now a bakery. Breads are very mediocre. Cakes and buns are ok. The white milk bread loaf is not good. It’s soft but quite chewy in a bad way, even fresh.

Wonderful restaurant. Although they have a bakery portion, they still serve noodle dishes. As a noodle fiend, I love their river snail noodles. How to describe it? Don't let the name deter you. It's like a melody of different contrasting textures and flavors, from the sour bamboo to the condiments and hearty broth, and as a whole, bursting full of flavor. It's a perfect combo with their soy milk. Yum! The restaurant staff always are so friendly too.

I was in Oakland Chinatown for a bazaar. Since it was during lunch time, I stopped in at this restaurant. So many choices on the menu. I ordered a dish that I haven't had in over 12 years. Eats: Shrimp and scrambled eggs over rice. It was yummy delicious. The portion was generous with at least 10 pieces of shrimp. Beverage: a pot of hot tea. Weather was cold. The freshly prepared food was comforting and soothing. Future visit? Yes, to try other items on the menu.

The soups always hit at Yung Kee!!!! I always come here for the roasted duck soup with egg noodles, and this time did not disappoint. It’s simple but rich and delicious. My family’s favorite was the Wor Won Ton; it was filled with all kinds of delicious goodies including won ton, shrimp, chicken, Chinese sausage, squid, and bok choy. Super flavorful and filling. We also tried the Mixed Vegetables, which was alright but not a stand out. The atmosphere is casual and small business

Really enjoyed our visit! Maybe family run? They seem to speak Cantonese and Mandarin. The herbal soups were good! We tried #8 and #11 chicken with ginseng. Both tasted healthy but I think I preferred #8 a little more. The soups are in the little cylindrical ceramic containers and make a good appetizer/side dish. Fun to get as a part of one of their special combos. The special dim sum of garlic clams was tasty and pretty fresh. Excellent value for $6.50! Enjoyed the sticky rice too - well balanced flavors and not overly salty. The beef tendon with noodles was tender and had a good texture. A smidge salty for my taste but flavorful and a good size. Fast & friendly service - there was a bit of confusion about how many soups we ordered but got it sorted out. The bathroom seems to be upstairs so might be a challenge if there are mobility limitations. Look forward to trying other dishes next time!

This place slaps my taste buds, I got lamb noodle soup (flavor), beef shank over rice noodles (succulent), shrimp dumplings (delicate), the chicken buns (the best). Get a rice or noodle dish and the all day dim sum

Had the dimsum here and it is very good, so we figured dinner was going to be just as good 👍 and we were right! The salted fish fried rice is literally the best I’ve ever had! Clams were yummy and the beef with chow fun is very good. They had these chicken wings also that were very good, crispy but drenched with this flavorful sauce! Really good spot :)

Delicious Cantonese restaurant! The staff are so welcoming and make it feel like you are eating a home-cooked meal. Super generous portions and always leave feeling happy and full! Barbecued goose, steamed oysters with garlic, and clay pot dishes are a must.
