Lucky Chef Chen
Very delicious and affordable American style chinese food. I always get the 4 item box, every time it's packed full. For less than $15 you can easily get 3 full meals out of this option. Honestly almost 4 meals. They always have the options you want like noodles, fried rice, orange chicken, broccoli beef, sweet and sour pork... don't sleep on the sesame chicken either. The value here is pretty unbeatable in my eyes. Quality has been more than acceptable for what it is too. Service is always prompt and friendly even when busy, which it usually isn't too busy. Inside isn't much going on but there is seating. I always get food to go.
Everything you want in a fast Chinese take out place. Yummy food. Big quantity and inexpensive. My only complaint wish they put more char siu sauce on their bbq spare ribs but otherwise a very good restaurant.
New Ocean Food Market
Overall, the food at New Ocen Chinese fast food is good, and there are a variety of choices. They also do reservation parties, and the price is affordable. The location is located on the bustling International Avenue. Today I ordered stirfry beef with broccoli, it was ok but too salty, and there were a few flies flying around in the cafeteria. Hope to improve with suggestions.
Me and my family have been coming here for years! Pretty consistent and delicious
NYC Buffet
We went on. Friday around 5:00 before dinner rush. The main course food was great especially seafood . However, the whole salad section was only chunks of lettuce and cucumbers. No variety of desserts and they were out of two of them while we were there. The 6 tubs of ice cream were empty. When I told the receptionist, she didn’t seem to care or there wan’t much she could do about it.
Adequate buffet, good value for seafood lovers. When you enter, you'll be greeted and you'll pay $27 per person. The seating forms a U-shape around the food area. I decided to sit in a booth, but there were tables and chairs available too. They seemed reasonably clean and I spotted an employee wiping tables. There isn't a vast selection of food, but there is a variety. The fries were too salty and not crispy, the Jell-O was a bit chewy like there wasn't enough water used, the chow mein and fried rice were decent, the ice cream had to be scooped with the tiniest scoops I've ever seen and didn't have the flavors labeled, and the beef (?), lumpia, and fried chicken were really chewy. The pizza wasn't good, but was edible. The items I enjoyed were rice pudding, California roll, a green ice cream, and fried plantains. The ice cream didn't taste like any flavor, but it was good. Surprisingly, the California rolls tasted like they were made with real crab. Speaking of seafood, they have plenty of it. I don't like seafood, but I know it's sort of expensive, so I'd recommend coming here if you want to fill yourself up on it. I'd avoid the sashimi though. Other reviewers have said that the food is cold. During my visit, the cooked foods weren't piping hot, but I could feel through the plate that they were warm and they cooled down a bit after I had walked around the food area. The restroom didn't smell bad, but it had graffiti and some of the partitions were rusting. At least there was hot running water. Most of the customers seemed to be families. At $27/person, this restaurant is an affordable place for groups to fill up on foods that are barely a step up from the Burger King across the street. I don't expect much from buffet restaurants. This restaurant isn't great, but it's not horrible, which is why I'm rating it three stars. I don't plan on visiting this place again, but I wouldn't dread coming here.
China Gourmet Express
I've been here to pick up lunch a couple times now. I usually get the 1 item combo and so far I've tried the sesame and general chicken! Both were good, flavorful and the rice and noodles are also delicious. Service is really great. They are very friendly!
It was mid, I've had better . I don't reccomend the orange chicken, didn't like it. Chow MEIN was nothing special either. It's too many other better places in Oakland, I'd say skip
