Yongzi Ji Restaurant
Came here with my boyfriend and it was a great chill date spot! Good: - The value of the family dinner is insane - we got the Hong Kong style and it came with like 5 different dishes - I liked the eggroll, very crispy and came with a super tasty sauce - The fried rice was really good - We ended up with so much food we had another meal to bring home - and for less than $20 each! - Service was incredibly fast and also they were very nice Bad: - It's a bit hectic inside since it gets busy! Overall, it was such a good deal and the staff were really efficient and nice and would come back!
Incredible stewed beef tendon & wantons! Wantons were fresh & plump, encased in a delicate wrapper. The soup tasted incredibly moreish & homey — no sign of msg (a rarity). Family run & cooked with love. Well worth a try!
Jade Cafe
I stopped by this restaurant after attending a nearby Junkjournal event, looking for a quick bite before heading home. At first, I considered the spot next door (which was completely empty), but this place was packed with families enjoying their meals—always a good sign! I ordered the duck wonton noodle soup. The presentation was on point, and the duck itself was flavorful. However, the broth? A little underwhelming. Nothing that a couple of spoonfuls of soy sauce and chili oil couldn’t fix! Once added, the flavors instantly came to life. I asked if the soup came with vegetables, the waitress said yes, but I only saw two pieces of bok choy. When I ask for vegetables, I mean an array of vegetables. I should’ve been more specific? Service was solid—attentive staff, no complaints there. The restaurant itself, though, could use a bit of upkeep. Would I go out of my way to eat here? Probably not. But for a quick and decent wonton soup when you're already in the area? Sure! 🍜
Jade Cafe I pass this place all the time and wonder what it taste like. There’s usually a homeless guy sleeping in the front but don’t let that stop ya(lol). This place is a hidden Gem. The plates are hefty and flavors are awesomeness. -Crispy Honey walnut prawns: had this dish at other places many times and Jade Cafe gave the biggest serving along with the biggest prawns I’ve ever had from a restaurant. Must try! -Mongolian Beef: not too spicy, beef was ok but the over all flavor was spot on and the plate was hefty. Would definitely come to Jade cafe again.
