Szechuwan Garden
Placed an order for pickup at 6:30. When I arrived at 6:35 and inquired about it the woman who seemed the owner mumbled something and disappeared to pick up another call. I call them on the phone and see her pick up my call from the back and answer my call. She tells me that the order isn’t ready yet (instead of updating me at the front where I was waiting). I patiently wait… When she finally makes it to the front to take a walk in order she tells the other customer they suddenly got busy in the last 10 minutes after a quiet while at the restaurant. I’m confused why my order that was placed at 6:05 online was delayed if they “were not busy”. When remind her that my order was 15 minutes late she rudely said “then leave it” after someone in the kitchen had just brought it over… what followed after was a horrific display of childish behavior when she asked me to hand over the food I was just given (!?). Do not recommend. I heard her yelling after me once I paid. My husband said I should’ve just left the food, but when you’re a mom who’s picking up food for their kiddos while on a tight schedule, you don’t let the rudeness of strangers get in the way. Having said that, never again will this owner get my business. There’s Panda Express down the road for a quick and satisfying Chinese food craving!
I ordered takeout—got the Sesame Chicken and wonton soup. This was easily the worst Chinese takeout I’ve ever had. I took one bite of the chicken and threw it away in the outside dumpster, I didn’t even want it in my kitchen garbage. It was dry, soggy, tasted like it was fried in the same peanut oil they’ve been using for years. The soup seemed fine, but I tossed that too, because I couldn’t trust anything that came out of that kitchen at that point. When I picked up the food, there was no one eating inside. So I’m guessing this isn’t a popular spot with in-person diners either. I’m really baffled by why this spot has such good reviews. That’s why I’m posting mine—I don’t want others to be misled like I was.
