Sunflower Garden
The food was mid, nothing to rave about but it wasn't bad. I was surprised that if you order a plate of sweat & sour chicken or any other that it doesn't come with any side of rice, broccoli or anything. Just the protein. I ended up ordering the pork chowmein which was ok. The food was brought to us very quick though and hot which was impressive.
Our new go to downtown. Excellent food. Always tasty and always fresh. Now they have dim sum and we tried it tonight. Delicious!! Friendly staff and consistently good. Love this place.
Aberdeen Cafe 香港仔
Really great food, very friendly staff. The food was super hot and fresh, we watched them cook it up in the nice open kitchen by the dining area. Flavourful and perfectly cooked. Good selection of both main dishes and dim sum. Will definitely be back soon!
Had the sweet and sour pork lunch set. Sat at the bar and watched the 2 older Chinese guys cook my meal. Tasted nice, service was quick and attentive. No overwhelming amount of oil at the plate bottom. Best part of my jury duty day.
Bamboo Garden Restaurant
Let me preface, We love Bamboo Garden. I’ve had about 10-15 orders over the past year or two. But man the order we just got was by far the worst Chinese food ive ever had. The fried rice was bland as can be, had maybe half an egg, and had zucchini in it! Never seen that before. And the sizzling rice soup tasted like watered down chicken broth. I hope that their normal kitchen staff was gone or out of town because if this continues I can’t be spending my money here.
With all my due respect to the hospitality and deliciousness of this kitchen - kudos to the chef! - I’m downgrading this place to 4 stars with hope to see some renovation soon. Other then that, here you go: From the moment we’ve entered, our team was greeted with respect and offered seating (yes, it was about 2 PM on Tuesday, so it was not busy). We’ve noticed that customers kept coming and going on average 3 to 4 tables occupied for inside dining, and that’s outside the fact that in one hour they’ve served over 20-30 to-go customers including cool guy in a wheelchair in no time, in-n-out just providing your cell phone number and picking up pre-packed lunch. Our dishes served at no time steaming fresh with Green Sautéed String Beans standing out over Cumin Lamb. House Fried Rice, if you are to order one, will fill you and two more accompanying friends. Dumplings with Szechwan Sauce from Chef were soooo juicy to die for. Make sure to kill ’em while they hot. Service - there’s no way you gonna be ignored! This private owned biz has the stile in serving fast and with the smile. Just don’t waste time. On top all of that you’ll be pleasantly surprised with the bill, that’s cheaper then some fast food restaurants. Overall we glad that we’ve discovered this gem, that’s so close to our home. Xie xie sister Dan add will see you soon.
New Peking
Ordered pepper steak at lunch. Included fried rice, spring roll and tea. Attentive service and quick food served. Happy with good quantity and price. I will return. Pic attached
Small strip mall shop that just recently changed owners. They are SUPER nice and the combo special plate was delicious. I upgraded my fried rice to BBQ pork fried, ordered cashew chicken, added a spring roll and waited to see what happened. First to arrive was delicious hot and sour soup. Then my lunch special plate. There was so much food on it there was no way I could even eat half of it (and I am a big dude who arrived hungry.) Next thing I noticed was real undiluted soy sauce bottles on the tables. This is the only place I've been to in decades that doesn't water down the soy sauce to extend it down the street and around the corner. So I used one dash instead of half the bottle. Thumbs up ACME for that! Bill not incl a tip was $18. What a deal . I'll be back to get some things to go. Acme - my new favorite to-go spot!! Check my pix:
Sunny Wok
2025-02: Got some food to go and the lady working was very pleasant. The food was good, fresh, and hot. It was ready in about 10 minutes. The sweet tea was good. 😊 The restaurant itself was clean and orderly. I would return here.
Sesame chicken & egg rolls was very good. Fried rice was not bad but wish it had a little more green onions and flavor but wasn’t bad . Definitely will be back.
Formosa's II Chinese Restaurant
If you don’t come here, you are missing a true hidden gem when it comes to Chinese food!!! Generous portion at a reasonable price. Awesome wait staff too! The photo is the chicken 3 ways dinner.
People that know my reviews know I don't give out 5 stars easily. Our waitress was fast and efficient. Tried this out for lunch and despite being busy food came within 10 minutes. Their food is VERY reasonably priced and has excellent flavor. The restaurant was clean and comfortable. We have been going to chain Chinese restaurants as we thought they would be quicker. Think again. We WILL be back.!!
Happy China
This place has outstanding quality Chinese food that you don't have to pay $15+/plate for. Usually ready in less than 20 minutes, and the folks that run it are always really busy, but very friendly. There are several Chinese take-out places in the CSRA that are similar, but this one is the most consistent.
Pretty tasty. Fresh. I loved the wings. Egg roll was good too. The house fried rice didn't have any beef in it tho. My only complaint.
Top China
2024-11: I think it's safe to say this is my favorite Chinese place in the area. The people are super nice and grateful for your business and the food is delicious and consistent. I would suggest if you want delivery, to call them directly and put an order in to give them your delivery business instead of one of the Fee-For-Everything-And-Inflated-Prices Apps. 😊 (Plus they are faster and more considerate than a lot of the delivery app drivers - as a rule.) Let's keep this business around. 2023-06: I've eaten from here several times and everything has always been tasty and the orders have always been correct. Their prices are pretty decent for what you get. I always call the restaurant directly for delivery. Will return.
Great, excellent, tasty, and hot food. They will never disappoint! I'm always very happy with their food. I especially like the lady taking the calls. She is calm and polite and gives you that friendly grandma feeling. The food deliveries are very timely. The food is always packaged very good, and it is hot! Great job, guys! Thank you very much for your kind service!
Panda Express
The restaurant stops making food an hour before close. If it's within an hour of close, DEFINITELY go to the one in pleasant hill. This is a poor people's panda express. It's half the quality of any of the other ones in the area. I live right next door. Trust me, I know. They no longer have vegetarian options like eggplant tofu. As soon as they stopped serving vegetarian options, I stopped going. Trust me! Go to pleasant hill. It's way better
Hard to beat for quick takeout Chinese when you really don't want to cook (or can't). Very few vegetarian options, but otherwise a good variety is always available. The food is always good and the service is amazing.
