Fish With you 鱼你在一起(韩国城)
I had an amazing lunch here with their signature hot oil sour pickled black fish m. The broth was perfectly tangy and spicy, with tender fish and just the right amount of pickled mustard greens. The portion was generous and you can chose one or for two person. You can eat as many rice as you like. Their maoxuewang is good too—rich, numbing, and packed with tender duck blood, tofu skin , chewy noodle and bean sprouts are swimming in that addictive mala broth. The service was friendly and quick, and the restaurant had a clean, relaxed atmosphere. Great value for the price too! If you’re craving Sichuan spice this place delivers!
This new place is a pure hidden gem if you love Chinese foods! Everything so fresh and the restaurant is super clean. Single portion can actually be enough for two but we still finished all. Will come back again soon!
Lin Asian Bar + Dim Sum
Delicious food. I’m Chinese-American, grew up on real home cooked Chinese food, and have visited China many times. Lin’s makes authentic Chinese dishes and it was so delicious!! Honestly loved everything we had here. Sat at the bar and was able to see the workers making dumplings—they stuffed the dumplings with so much filling. That’s another awesome thing about this place- the serving sizes are generous and well worth the price. Nice and clean ambience as well and friendly service.
Upscale popular Chinese and dim sum with great ambiance and excellent service. A great place to take family and less initiated friends for dim sum. It’s very popular so make reservations or be prepared to wait an hour or more. It’s upscale in ambiance and service as well so the prices are higher accordingly. The decor is on point and the murals on the side of the building are gorgeous. One of their signature dishes is their seafood soup dumpling. Think a giant soup dumpling containing a whole bowl of soup with large chunks of seafood in a rich and a flavorful broth. It looks really cool. It’s a little difficult to eat without making a mess. The regular soup dumplings were very juicy. They give you a small cup to help you eat your soup dumpling instead of a traditional soup spoon which worked out well. All the dishes we had were delicious and upscaled from more traditional dim sum. Asian owned by Chef Ling. Love to support local small businesses with a great story. Parking is a little tricky. There’s spots in the back and a lot near by with a few more spots as well as near by street parking.
QI Austin: Modern Asian Kitchen
Qi Austin is a charming spot, perfect for a date night. They offer creative cocktails and a great wine list, allowing you to customize your drink of choice. Be sure to reserve a table in the cozy dining area. During my dinner, I tried a variety of dishes, and everything exceeded expectations. The soup dumplings were a highlight, but the scallop caviar dumplings were truly phenomenal. The truffle fried rice was a unique and delicious discovery, and the duck was cooked to perfection and served with delightful little buns. The hot and sour soup was also spot on in consistency and flavor.
Their soup dumplings are absolutely delicious! You can even watch the staff making these tasty dumplings on-site! I especially love soup dumplings, and this is already my second visit because of them. The hot and sour soup is flavorful and is also the second time I’ve ordered it. The lobster dumplings are amazing, similar to the shrimp dumplings you’d find at dim sum, but with fuller meat. The salt and pepper shrimp go perfectly with rice, and they even include a small bowl of rice and soup for free. But! Why would a chef cut ginger into such thin and tiny pieces that they look like shredded cabbage?!
Hong Kong Chinese Restaurant
I was surprised to see this restaurant still in business, as I came here as a young girl in the late 70's. They have been in the same location for over 50 years! Small number of booths in the room we sat in;I believe they have larger tables in other rooms. Employees are not only attentive and polite, but they seem happy! I felt truly welcomed inside! Large menu, all reasonably priced, including the alcoholic beverages. We ordered a Combination dinner for the 3 of us. Dinner came quickly, and all items were delicious. They don't skimp on any ingredients. nor do they over-sauce any of the dishes. So happy this little restaurant has stood the test of time!! We will be back!
Always have had good food and service. The restaurant is a little tired. Same wall decor etc that has been there for decades so it could use a facelift. However the food is good and the place is clean so we are happy to go back. It was nice to have good Chinese food and be able to support them during Covid several years back. Glad they were able to survive that.
China House
Sunday visit with our son and our KU/Lawrence go-to for “Chinese/Oriental” food was CLOSED. Looking at all the available options, this place had about as many reviews as the others. It’s usually a roll of the dice when trying to make an informed decision based on reviews. To be clear, we never review POSH dining spots - not our lane. So when it’s asking for atmosphere, this place looks as any other restaurant you are expecting serving this type of food - traditionally a take-out/delivery cuisine. But now what we all want to know - what about the food?? Good portions for the $ spent. Freshly cooked made it across from West Lawrence to son’s school apartment and it was as awesome as it looked, HOT & FRESH. Looking back, almost all the NEGATIVE reviews for this spot were 5 years old or older so don’t let them deter you from giving this place a visit. And your to go order comes inside a nicely designed marketing carry sack!! Happy eating!
I've ordered from here before and it's always been great but my delivery order tonight was definitely off. Sesame chicken was a weird color and tasted more like honey mustard. Crab rangoons were just plain cream cheese. This is very odd from my normal experience from this place. Not sure if they are having a supply issue or changed recipes. It was edible just not exactly normal. Staff is always nice though.
Beijing Express
Great, fresh Chinese & Latin cuisine at reasonable prices. No indoor dining during Covid-19 pandemic.
Lots of food for the money. Steam table items did not look fresh or hot or stirred in a while. The rice was oily. The fish fillet I had lacked seasoning. I think they're trying to be too many things and nothing seems to be excellent.
China Bowl express
Me and my family always come here. The guy who always serves us is so nice and generous. This time the person who served us was a woman. She is so stingy with the chow mein. Let me tell you I was 🤔. So I asked for more and she had the worst attitude. I never had a problem before regarding portions. We love coming here for Chinese food. Maybe next time we get the guy hopefully or someone else. I took away my 5 star.
The lineup seemed promising: teriyaki chicken, beef and broccoli, white rice, chow mein, and some spicy wings to add a kick. The teriyaki chicken looked pretty unappetizing and tasted as gross as it looked—salty overload! The beef in the beef and broccoli? Too salty. Broccoli was surprisingly good, though. Then came the spicy wings... or should I say, not-so-spicy and yet again, too salty. Talk about a trend here! Chow mein? Overcooked noodles swimming in the sea of salt. Thank goodness the white rice was alright. If I'm honest, I wouldn't bother giving it another shot. Photos might make it look appealing but it was not at all.
Gold Medal Chinese Food
Definitely a place that deserves a "Gold Medal" 🏅 for their affordable food, and delicious options. I Love their Teriyaki Chicken and Orange Chicken!
Great place for fast Chinese food. Been coming here for years...
Magic Wok
I ordered the three fried shrimp was not the picture that I ordered is totally different from what I ordered. I ordered the teriyaki chicken and it was burnt. I contacted the store very rude. Hung up on my face and told me they don’t have a website. I’m disputing it with my bank because how did I order it if I did not go to their website
I don't like giving bad reviews but this one is one of my worst experience. Noodles were ok. Service was bad. The female server was rude. She didn't want to put an order for more orange chicken when I ordered double orange chicken she tried filling the to go container with alot of rice and noodles and gave me whatever was left of the Orange chicken. When I called her out on it to make sure it was a double order, not single, she got mad and was talking loud in her language. Rudeness at its finest. I made sure she knew that I knew she was not saying nice things about me. Bless her heart. Won't be going there again. Will stick to chop sticks instead. So sad.
