Hot wok Chinese food
Solid place for cheap American Chinese takeout. Went in person to pick up. Looks like more of a takeout place but they have some seating. I do recommend calling ahead of time because there was only one worker and my order took 30ish minutes. Nevertheless he was really nice and I got two entrees, chow mein, chicken fried rice, and the fried chicken wings. He threw in a free order of rice. All of that was $45 which is crazy good nowadays. Orange chicken was solid, not heavy on the breading like some places and the sauce was well balanced with an ample orange flavor. The Mongolian beef was really good. Very tender. All around solid place if you’re craving cheap Chinese takeout.
This is the healthiest and freshest tasting Chinese I’ve had in the area. It’s worth every penny and more. Some tips for a good experience: 1.Understand and accept that the menu is out of date online and limited. He doesn’t cook pork anymore. He’s eliminated items from the menu that don’t get ordered enough, which I’m sure helps his overhead. For the some of the same reasons.. I also suggest 2. ordering in person…Do not call to order. I can understand why he could be short on the phone. This is a one man show restaurant and he’s cooking, taking payments, everything all at once it seems. 3. Be prepared to pay cash. 4. It’s all cooked to order and I usually wait ~25 minutes or less while he cooks. 5.No dining in, only takeout. So far I’ve ordered shrimp lo mein, sesame chicken, mixed vegetables, chicken fried rice, and Kung pao chicken, all were incredible. Any three of those selections + white rice were $27 total and it’s a lot of food.
Chinese Delight
Delicious food. Really tasty and savory. I have tried the Orange Chicken, Mongolian Beef, Pepper Beef, I would say it’s a 10/10 so far. The hot and sour soup paired with the fried rice is exquisite. They also have a crispy cabbage veggie roll that just crunches and adds depth to the experience. Definitely a must have if you’re in the area. Try it once and I know you’ll return like I have. Compliments to the chefs and waitresses are genuine and honestly nice. Atmosphere is nice. The picture is the orange chicken
Hands down the best Chinese food I've ever had in LA! This was my first time ordering from here. I got steamed potstickers and mu shu pork, super flavorful and large portions for a pretty good price. Definitely my new favorite Chinese spot!
J & J Wok
This is a little secret gym in my neighborhood. The food is delicious. The people are nice. The price is aren't bad. Sorry. No photos but please support this neighborhood gym especially if they have the skinny noodles. This is an added post to this j&j wok. They're very nice people. The food is delicious. This is the only place where you can get two kinds of noodles but they're very consistent on their food. Times are hard. Prices are a little high but they haven't raised them that crazy. Please visit j&j wok. Be patient when there's the line. Thank you. I've added photos
I've been here multiple times and I've never been disappointed. The portions they give here are MASSIVE, I'm always surprised when my dish is being served. The servers are always kind and welcoming! A handful of tables to sit at, and the location has blinds that prevent the sun from coming in and heating up the place.
Dragon Street Chinese
I really wanted to like this place because the staff is so nice. But the food was pretty awful. It felt old and extremely dry. The rice was partly overcooked and mushy and partly dry and crunchy. The entire thing lacked seasoning. I won't be coming back.
Ordered take out The chow fun with beef was amazing. Did not like the Thai tea and I initially got it because it was a buy 1 get 1 free deal. It was so watered down or something it was really strange after taste. The rest of the meal was great just had to wash it down with a coke at home.
Panda Express
I was able to stop by this Panda Express location last night for an event. We were given a small box of chow Mein and orange chicken. If you been to any Panda Express before then you'll know that they offer great food selection. The only issue is the portion size because they tend to not give a lot of food portion unless it's something that suppose to fill you up quick like rice. The refresher drink was my favorite when I was here. I got the watermelon one and it was delicious. The customer service was amazing for me last night.
I order a bigger plate, wow send just little amount. Plus burning chow mein.
