Ta Chen Chinese Restaurant
First timer.. and I was amazed by the service and the food quality. Family owned and operated this family puts all their love into their food and you can just taste it š!! I order the szechuan beef and I ate every bite.
I finally got to try Ta Chen. I read the reviews beforehand but I was between errands so I only got take out. I got the sweet and sour pork lunch plate and ordered extra egg rolls and egg flower soup. You could tell it wasn't some frozen stuff that they warmed up and threw sauce over. The sauce was more sweet than sour but soy sauce fixes everything š. The pork was a little bit overcooked but cooked through so that's okay. The egg rolls were basic veggie and the egg flower soup was piping hot, the way I like it. I can't wait to go back for a proper sit down meal. The restaurant reminds me of the old Chinese food places my parents would take us to in Hawaii wayyyy back when. No frills, no extravagance, just freshly made food eaten on Formica covered tables and upholstered benches. It's a tiny place but the woman that helped me was kind and may've been the owner. A good first time experience and alternative to the stuff they sell in those Chinese fast food places where everything tastes the same and costs too much.
Panda Express
Shout out to the friendly staff especially the tall Hispanic guy who work in the kitchen and the girl who re-prepared my food. I placed an online order to pick up at 1:00PM but wasnāt able to pick it up until 7:30PM and he offered to re-do a new order for me because it had been sitting there for a while. Thatās very kind and thoughtful of you to make sure your customersā best experience! Thank you so much! šÆ
Itās a Panda Express location⦠Nothing better, nothing worse. Just Panda and all of the standard Panda Express food you know and with either love, or hate. They are most definitely NOT true classic and authentic Chinese food. It is VERY Americanized and bland on flavor and bite. But, that what they are known for. Itās Chinese style American made fast food with basic decor and flavors. They recently had some price hikes and are slowly working their way to a price point where real authentic will be the go-to over them hands down. The Orange Chicken is 75% breading and doesnāt really have an authentic mandarin orange kick and bite orange chicken lovers, loveā¦.. The Fried rice has no real flavor and the chow mien seems to be a bit too oily for a good taste palette. The Kung Pao is not bad, but the chicken is fatty. This goes for the chicken in general, including the teriyaki chicken. They used to serve the teriyaki sauce hot, not you get in a packet at room temp. Big loss in the points section on this review. The sad thing is, the sauce had the most flavor out of everything else⦠So you be the judge. But spending $25 on a couple of plates of basic fast food American Chinese is a real, HARD PASS, net time we are thinking Chinese for lunch in the area. From picture, you can see, this place is NOT crowded and low in customers who feel the change like I doā¦. * PIC taken at 12:30 on a Friday lunch rush on a busy road in the middle of a shopping strip mall⦠*
