Little Hunan Restaurant
Updated review 11/16/2023: Little Hunan has re-opened! They were closed for eight months. As a customer for over 15+ years, I was really happy to see the same people working there. Indoor dining is finally back. When I was here back in July of last year, they were to-go only. The food is still good. I got my usual beef chow fun, combo chow mein and salt and pepper deep fried spare ribs. It was awesome to taste their food again. Original review: Indoor dining has not re-opened. I spoke with the counter lady and they don't plan on doing it anytime soon. Tonight I tried their dinner combo A $32 for two people. It comes with a small wonton soup, egg rolls, sweet & sour pork, broccoli chicken and BBQ pork fried rice. In terms of taste, they usually nail the traditional American/Chinese dishes spot on. They have been there for decades. If there aren't that many people waiting, they are fast on the orders. In the past, I usually order their Hong Kong style pan fried noodles (they put the noodles on top of the sauce so that it doesn't get soggy when you get home), salt pepper spare ribs, salt pepper chicken wings, chow fun and other noodles. Little Hunan is solid.
I ordered mongolian beef and a kung pao with rice combo and it was legit great! Leftovers for the day after! Food was quick and smelled so good!
Pacific Restaurant
Best salt and pepper pork chop and chicken wings in all of Daly City! I've been coming here since 2005 and it's the same employees to this day!!! New ownership as of 5 years ago but is still the same and going strong!
Still NO dine in and buffet at this time and everytime I visit them I asked when will they start buffet and dine in and they don't know as well. Oh, and lastly the prices has gone up, you will need to go there and pick up an updated take out menu but even this they were out of. Will give 5 stars once they stat to serve buffet, the best for lunch!
Spicy House 川香小館
This was SO good. Stopped here after a quick google search for food and we got so much food because we were starving and every single thing was great. Now we have leftovers for days. Super happy we came across this place, the service was lovely and the prices are good
In the top 10 Chinese restaurants I've been to. Service was impeccable and friendly. Our server was intuitive and was genuinely kind. The food is amazing, and I'm blown away that they don't charge more for their dishes. We got a large spread of food from shrimp dumplings to soup dumplings, scallion pancakes to mapo tofu, and extra rice. We had won ton in chili oil and only spent $60, which included a 20% tip. I want to go to so many more places, but I am thinking of catching a last-minute meal prior to flying back out in a couple of days. I HIGHLY recommend this establishment. I have an affinity to mom and pop shops, especially delicious ones such as this.
Fung Wah Restaurant
Good food with a very affordable price. The salt and pepper fish was light and crispy, the war won ton was full of items and great flavor, the only thing I didn’t like was that the chow Mein noodles were a bit undercooked. Good service and the place looked clean. Again the prices are the most affordable in the area.
I passed by here many times and never knew if it was open because the curtains block the interior view. Today I finally have this place a shot on a hungry mindset. It’s like a hole in the wall that serve authentic Chinese dishes at great prices. Also the service was great and the food was very delicious. I definitely will be back to try out other dishes.
Canton Restaurant
Fast, friendly service. Been coming here for years. Consistent, high quality food. Can do many dishes vegetarian. Can also make custom dishes upon request. Family & kid friendly.
I like the Buddha delight. I always order this with other plates. Ordered wor won ton. This is another of my prefer plates in here. Ordered the combination chow mein, which only had one shrimp, and black mushroom with bitter melon… they can change some vegetables for another if you ask them. The Chinese style food is always recognizable for its distinctive Cantonese flavor
Panda Express
Excellent customer service, the food is freshly made, nice and hot. It's delicious. I had a great experience eating here. Great job 👍 👏👏👏👏👏
In the past: The food tastes fine, but the workers are ALWAYS somewhat rude in that they are NOT friendly at all. I don't like their attitude of not being friendly. No hello. No thank you. No goodbye. Nothing. It's like they're prisoners. I rarely buy their food, because the workers appear to be sad, unfriendly, & there against their will. 1/15/20: I went back today. The workers were all happy & polite this time. This was the 1st time I engaged with positive attitude workers there. The food was fresh. I was happy!!! 10/10/20: the food was good & so was the service. 5/13/21: Always tasty. Polite service. 5/27/21: Their food was good the next day for breakfast. June, 2021: The workers were polite & smiled. The food was consistently very good. 10/13/22: Their new fake orange 🍊 chicken 🐔 is incredibly tasty! It tastes just like chicken 🐔! I'll choose it each time!
Suily's Cafe
I really like this place. Nice and quiet on the corner street. They give a lot of food worth the price.
My place to have Chinese brunch. Ordered scrambled egg with beef fried rice and sweet & sour pork over beef fried rice. I give it 5 out of 5
Wong's Cafe
This is our 2nd time visiting and both times, the food was very hot and delicious! The portion sizes are acceptable for the price, definitely able to share with 2-3 ppl and/or have left orders if buying individual plates. All dishes came out hot & fresh and very quickly. I love Orange Chicken, but they don’t have this item. As a very good substitute is the Lemon Chicken ($10), highly recommend, as it’s now my favorite dish there. The Beef w/ Broccoli ($11) was delicious, but very saucy. Steam Rice Large ($3); we had leftovers… great portion size. Beef Chow Mein ($9), highly recommend. Vegetarian Hot & Sour Soup ($9 or $10); husband loved it! Definitely had leftovers. Overall with taxes, spend $55 (not including tip) for 2 ppl & leftovers. The only negative is they only accept CASH, VENMO, or ZELLE. NO CREDIT CARDS. Parking is very limited. Customer Service is awesome! Very friendly! We’ll definitely be back.
This is one of the best Chinese restaurants in Daly City. Awesome service, clean tables! I cater exclusively from them now when my church hosts events. I cannot stress how clean the dining area is. I have visited many times over the years, and it is always clean.
Pop Kitchen
TLDR: first time I’ve had such good Hainanese chicken and they debone it for you when you dine in! We had the steak, the large pea sprouts with garlic and the hainan chicken. The hainan chicken was smooth and moist, but the best part was that it was deboned! It takes a lot of skill for that to happen and it makes it so much easier to eat so I was happy with the food
This place has very interesting concept in cooking their food. The food here was good and had good variety of seafood with good flavours even though it was being steamed. The staff was very friendly and very attentive. Our waitress gave us recommendations on what to eat and how to enjoy our food and would also tell us if we’re over ordering. The ending of the seafood congee was great. Nice and flavourful. It was definitely a fun experience and a quick way of eating steamed seafood.
Koi Palace
The honey walnut shrimp was very good! The breading was thin and the shrimps were juicy and not overcooked. The sauce had traces of acidity, i am guessing from lemon juice — very much needed and often neglected in many honey walnut shrimp dishes. The baked cod was very good! This recent one was a tad overcooked. Thankfully because the cod had a high fat content, it was more forgiving, otherwise it would be totally dry inside. The marinade worked well, so was the dipping sauce. The lobster noodles were spot on! The lobster was cooked perfectly, so were the noodles. The sauce for the noodles was not too much, the noodles were perfectly soft. The beef cubes were excellent! The beef were cut a tad too big. The sauce worked, and was aromatic and semi sweet. The mushrooms and other veggies worked great to give the dish its vibrant color. Found a shrimp with the intestine still intact. Some inconsistencies here and there. I have been here many times.
Still quite popular after 30 plus years, Koi Palace offers upscale and expensive Cantonese dim sum and seafood dining near Serramonte mall. Dim sum is one of their claims to fame, but I found the wrappings too soft and they fell apart when picking up a dumpling with chopsticks. Perhaps they added too much water to the four mix. Picky. The savory dishes were sweet, and the sweet items were too sweet. The recessed lighting and darker atmosphere adds a little sophistication, compared to the bright white LED lighting you find in most Chinese restaurants. The central dining area has nice lighting and higher ceilings. The area off to the side has lower ceilings and makes the noise level very high. Everyone has to yell to be heard. Many tables ordered their more expensive seafood items such as Lobster noodles, steamed crab, crab noodles, abalone noodles. Maybe that's the ticket. Service was good. Our waiter was quite friendly and accommodating. We weren't bothered by the rude and pushy guys in the dark suits with the earpiece. Koi Palace is a good place to go to if you want to splurge and or impress your family or friends with an expensive Chinese lunch or dinner. Just go on a weekday...if you want to be heard or even hear yourself talk.
YGF Malatang
I enjoyed this malatang!!! The broth is so flavorful and fragrant. I like it more than Tang Bar in Stonestown. Even though the item selection is smaller, it has most of the things I want (but my favorite is fried bean curd roll, please consider adding that to your selection). And bonus, it’s closer to my house! Delicious and fast. Give it a try!
Really solid-for mall food, this is great. A little bit on the expensive side, but you do get what you pay for so definitely reasonable. Ingredients are fresh, selection is actually very solid despite looking like a small location, and workers are nice there. It does take awhile for mall food though, since they cook it to order-in a perfect world you’d order then go to Dick’s to pick something up and go back for your food. Still, a very solid four stars and probably 4.5 if that was an option.
T C Pastry
An average dim sum eatery. Quality is okay, not like the sit down traditional teahouse. For sure your in typical Asian hole-in-the-wall place. If you go here to pick up some food items, it's not quite the same as in SF... or even 99 Ranch, Dim Sum King, etc. I'd say just "okay", if you need something to satisfy your urge to eat dim sum.
Review only for their cilantro shrimp dumpling. Again another place I go to for this item only. Social distancing at four customers in the shop. They have an assortment of things to purchase here. What I love about their cilantro dumpling is they have water chestnut inside. Decently priced. If you need chopsticks or a container for sauce ask.
