Spicy City
This is a wonderful restaurant that represents Sichuan cuisine excellently. A friend of mine from Sichuan said the food here is even better than in Sichuan. The dishes are very flavorful and not necessarily very spicy. Good white pork and kung pao chicken. Great fish dishes too!
We ordered spicy and non spicy dishes here. Lamb meat dry fried with Sichuan spices on toothpicks was quite good. Also sautéed green pea sprouts were excellent. Shredded pork meat with steamed buns were delicious as well as the steamed carp fillet in sour and spicy soup. There are much more traditional Sichuan dishes here. Highly recommended.
Auction Chinese Food
I've been coming to this place for years since I've lived in colton its actually my favorite spot for Chinese food until my recent visit today, I think the original owners that operated it for years is under new management and the quality of food has gone down drastically with a price increase. Everything tasted like mush including the chicken which I've never ever experienced it's always been really good and crispy crunchy but now it just literally falls apart. Same with the chow mein its usually very thick and golden probably the best chow mein I've ever had but now the quality is very poor and extremely greasy. I was unsatisfied with my visit the only time but like I said it could be new owners, next time I'm not placing my order until I see the owner at the register she is amazing and friendly. If you happen to see this review miss thank you for everything and the years you've served here in colton😊 you will be missed by the community! Update: I found a picture of the serving sizes before COVID and also learned that it is under new management. You will never ever get a box like that to go served ever again 😔 original owner would pack it till could barely close.
This place is so disappointing. I've come here 3 times now thinking maybe this time the food will taste fresh, better since my options in Colton are so limited. Nope!! It always tastes like it's been sitting in that warmer for hours. The people who take your order are just as stale. The lady has no personality with the customers. Just points and moves on to the next person. It sucks there are no better Chinese food options here in Colton
Le Yuen BBQ
Got the half roasted duck and thought it was just alright. It wasn’t very flavorful, and the skin wasn’t crispy like I was hoping. The worker wasn’t friendly, but honestly, that was kind of expected. Overall, I wouldn’t return.
High recommended this Chinese BBQ restaurant. The BBQ food is always fresh and delicious. The staff is friendly.
Tang Dynasty(唐潮酒馆/醉长安)
Recently came across this budget-friendly meal deal—only $11.99 all day for one dish plus a bowl of rice, with 25 dishes to choose from! Do the math, and $100 gets you 8 dishes—basically 8 full rice bowl meals! Honestly, I haven’t had this kind of “eat a lot and eat well” happiness at a restaurant in a long time! [Stir-fried Beef with Chili] This one’s the ultimate rice killer! Tender beef slices with a hint of spice, full of wok hei. I could easily eat another bowl of rice with this. [Homestyle Tofu] Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside—stir-fried with wood ear mushrooms and green peppers. It soaks up the sauce beautifully. [Garlic A-Choy] The light and refreshing option! A perfect balance to all the hearty dishes. Strong garlic aroma but doesn’t overpower. [Pickled Radish & Chicken Gizzards] Super crunchy and full of texture! The sour radish is so appetizing—another perfect combo with rice. [Shrimp with Soft Scrambled Egg] Ordered this one for the kid! Delicately cooked, eggs are super soft and creamy, shrimp is bouncy and fresh—plate was polished clean! [Spicy Stir-fried Clams] Clams are big and meaty, cooked in a savory-sweet sauce with chili peppers. Pretty solid! [Stir-fried Bullfrog] Okay, I cheated and got a non-discounted dish… but I had to. I love bullfrog, and this one tasted super fresh—definitely freshly butchered. Spicy, flavorful, and surprisingly affordable compared to other places. They also do skewers and drinks at night—totally vibey for a night out. I have to come back for dinner next time!
This restaurant is located on the 3rd floor. We came here for the skewers. We were surprised by the dumplings and the scallops were quite good as well. The price was very affordable, the mini skewers were perfect for bite size. I like the Secret Beef and the Secret Lamb were better seasoned than the mini skewers. The Yellow Croaker fishes were tender and flavorful. Good place to hangout with friends and families.
Tasty Dining
This place was in walking distance to our hotel and rated high so we came in for dinner. Small place but were able to get seated right away. We ordered the combo chicken and beef, white rice, pumpkin cakes and sesame noodles. The portion of the hotpot was huge and being just the 2 of us we barely finished a quarter of it. Taste was delicious however we could have easily saved alot of money if they had smaller portions. Sesame noodles were strong flavored but adding the chili paste gave it a wonderful flavor. We added the wild vermicelli to the hotpot but wasnt a fan of it. Too sticky. Pumpkin cakes were soft, buttery and loved the flavor. Service was good. We had little trouble understanding the menu and how it works however the server explained well. Bill provided was in chinese which I think should be in English so that its easier to verify the items. Its located in a busy complex but we walked so cant comment on that aspect.
This spicy hot pot place is absolutely amazing! The ingredients are fresh and there’s a wide variety to choose from. The mix of main and side ingredients is well-balanced. You can adjust the level of spiciness to your taste—the flavor is rich but not greasy, and it leaves you wanting more! The service is great, and the restaurant is clean and tidy with a comfortable atmosphere. Highly recommend adding lotus root slices and bullfrog—they soak up the flavor perfectly! I’m always satisfied when I come here. Strongly recommended for anyone who loves spicy food!
MIAN
Let me start by saying I work in china, so I’m a bit biased. I’d read amazing reviews about Mian so I decided to take the hike to San Gabriel. The good was ok. My spicy tofu with beef was so oily I could barely get the noodles out before they slid back into the bowl. It was very salty and simply to oily. My daughter ordered the chicken noodle and it tasted like Campbell’s noodle soup. My sister ordered the chicken the beef shank noodle and she fared the best. The ordering system is by QR code so there was no one to greet us or ask us how the food was. Not worth the hype or drive, I will not be coming back.
This spot came up and when we arrived it had a Michelin rating and it lives up to it! I ordered the pork dumpling, crispy pork pieces and beef noodle dish. The dumplings were phenomenal especially with the sweet sauce. The crispy pork pieces were delicious but wish they had something to dip them with but they were still crispy & on point with the seasoning. The beef noodle soup which is noted in an article posted on their wall was really good and I highly recommend these three dishes. I’d definitely come back here again for the excellent customer service and Michelin star rated dishes.
Nature Pagoda
Very Special Clay Pot Rice, the original taste with the specially designed pot. There are crispy rice as well as the special soy sauce to make the dishes really delicious. The curry beef is also great as there would be curry sauce to be poured onto the rice. Even the packing box for to-go order also has the same taste with some additional given crispy rice. Some special desserts are offered as well as the soups. Also, some herbal tea is bitter enough. Pay attention to it. Do remember to check the prices of vegetables. The store is small while it might take a long time to wait for the clay pot rice. Leave enough time for it.
I’m so happy I found this Cantonese place with the perfect authentic herbal steaming soups that taste like home. It may be hard for people who hasn’t tried it before because of the herbal flavors, but it’s the best for your body!!! I will be coming here a lot! :)
Shanghai No 1 Seafood Village
Food is excellent here at Shanghai No1 Restaurant! From morning Dim Sum dishes to authentic Shanghai style meats and seafood. Atmosphere and ambiance is wonderful. However, service is mediocre at best! Wait time is a bit long too! Still, overall, it was an enjoyable dinning experience! You just cannot be in a hurry....
It's hard to find authentic Shanghai cuisine in the Los Angeles area, but after tasting it today, I found there is no difference with what I had in Shanghai. In fact, the quality of the ingredients might even better that of Shanghai, making the flavors even more delicious. I also really like the decor here and the service staff, which all strongly reflect the essence of Shanghai.-腔调!
Hengry
House fried rice definitely is my favorite! The manager recommends it as one of the best seller, and it’s was hearty and unique — like a cross between stir-fried rice and a comfort stew, full of rich, savory, and slightly sweet flavors. The miao soup fish fillets with tender fish and a naturally tangy broth. That said, the mujiangzi oil was overpowering and masked a bit of the broth’s freshness, also the sour flavor is too light to taste. The service was attentive, and the space was clean and comfortable.
Unique and yummy guizhou cuisine! We had the miao sour soup, mushroom dry pot, braised pork belly, egg foo yong, and Chinese lettuce. There’s unique spice in every dishes. Interior design is funky and vibrant, I can see it being a lit hang out spot.
Northern Chinese Cuisine
Simple restaurant serving authentic Shanxi cuisine. Got their special lamb noodle soup, fresh noodles, flavorful lamb broth, huge portions, it was delicious!
A complex combination of Northern Chinese food. Great taste of lamb and supposed to be popular among the lamb lovers. Cold dishes could be chosen by one's own.
Quantong Square
Delicious Cantonese flavor. Servers are quite busy😂
Besides the obvious problems with finding a parking spot on the weekend, Quantong Square is a terrific place for shopping, dining and hanging out with your friends and relatives. It offers a variety of restaurants and shopping options. I really love the diverse products and services this shopping center offers to the visitors and customers.
湘辣楼
“A Rather Disappointing Dining Experience” Excited to try a new restaurant, we ordered the signature pickled fish dish. After a long wait—during which we finished three vegetarian dishes and a cold appetizer—the main course finally arrived. It looked decent at first glance, but the first bite revealed an overpowering fishy taste. The ingredients were clearly not fresh, failing to mask the unpleasant odor. When we asked our friends for their opinions, they all agreed: the fish was unpleasantly fishy and stale. We called over the staff, and two servers arrived. Instead of apologizing, their immediate response was defensive: “This dish couldn’t possibly be stale because we use frozen fish, not fresh fish!"* I was baffled. First, how could they dismiss our feedback without even tasting it? Second, shouldn’t they apologize first instead of shifting blame? Third, since when does frozen fish guarantee freshness or eliminate fishiness? What kind of flawed logic is that? The two servers stared at us and asked, “So, what do you want us to do?"We requested a replacement dish—stir-fried lamb. Another 20-minute wait later, it arrived. The first bite: overwhelmingly salty**. The second bite: **still unbearably salty**. Was the salt shaker accidentally dumped into the wok? Or was this some kind of spiteful seasoning retaliation? The most frustrating part? No apologies, no follow-up, and zero concern for our experience.** From start to finish, the service was indifferent, leaving us completely neglected. **Key Issues Highlighted:** - **Poor ingredient quality** (unfresh fish despite excuses). - **Defensive service attitude** (blame-shifting over accountability). - **Execution failure** (over-salted replacement dish). - **Zero customer care** (no apologies or follow-up).
Delicious. Exquisite. Authentic. Great atmosphere. Good food. Helpful Staff.
