ikka sizzling pot
This spot was amazing and I appreciate the older host for coming by with the right sauces since it was my first time there.
Food was great!!! Taste like chicken broth risotto!!! Soooooo good!
AYEE Rice Noodles Roll
I’ve been to this restaurant multiple times, and the food quality has stayed consistently good over time. The prices aren’t exactly cheap, but the portions are generous. For Los Angeles, their rice noodle rolls are definitely among the better ones you can find. That said, a word of caution—always try to park your car somewhere visible, and never leave any valuables inside. Otherwise, your window—or your belongings—might be gone when you get back. This goes for any nearby parking spots too. Be careful.
Pretty decent branch Chinese restaurant. Prices are decent for congee and noodles but chengfei is a little bit pricey. Service is alright but food comes out quick. The quality of food is very good especially the seafood congee. Chengfei is pretty good as well, and it's freshly made. Mushroom Shu Mai is decent and big. Probably coming back for congee and other items next time, and recommend people who want something cozy for breakfast or lunch here.
NC Peking Duck
Chinese restaurant with roasted duck that must be ordered at least an hour in advance. We ordered the set A menu for our family of four which came with the aforementioned roasted duck with buns and hoisin sauce, steamed veggies, 10 pieces of xiao long bao, and Mongolian beef noodles for $98. There was another set menu option that had more food but set A was perfect. I called a day in advance to make a reservation as I couldn’t figure out how to do it online or through Yelp. Service was quick and we were seated immediately. Parking was easy as there’s a lot. Credit cards accepted.
Although the environment looks old, it is still clean. The taste is average, and the chef's cooking level is limited. The roast duck is $98, which is expensive. After adding tax and tip, it is not cheap. The waitress is diligent, they help to change the bone dish is beyond my expectation. I didn't expect that the waitress in such a restaurant is so thoughtful. If you don't consider the taste of the dishes when dining with friends, this place can be considered good.
Phoenix Food Boutique - City of Industry
Always like food here. Not many dine-in, but a lot of take-out. 7/26/24 update: ordered string beans, crispy noodle with beef, and walnut shrimp. String beans are a bit tough. The other 2 dishes are good.
Great Chinese desserts. My wife and I loved the Durian rolls and the Mochi. The Hainan chicken was also very good.
Sichuan Sizzling 龙腾轩
As someone who’s half from Chongqing, I have to say — this place is absolutely amazing!! No misses at all!!! Even before I came, I felt confident because I heard the original team from Sanhe Zhu had opened this place. And sure enough, when I saw the tofu pudding (douhua), I immediately guessed they made it themselves — and the auntie at the restaurant confirmed it! No wonder it tastes just like the flavors from my childhood back home in Chongqing. Top tier, absolutely top tier. Follow my photos when you order — you won’t go wrong!
Hole in the wall alert! Good food, good portions, good prices, what more do you want? This place has amazing food without all that MSG. This is definitely a hidden gem that you should try out.
LT Shanghai Restaurant
1st time here. We booked 2 of their "private room", and I was a bit worried, as the minimum is $300 per room. Turns out, I feel it's totally worth it, as this place is very packed during the dining hours. We can enjoy the "private time" with families, without being bothered by others. All food tastes great. The duck, cooked in 2 ways, is a bit pricey, based on the portions. Other than that, we are happy with this place.
Ate lunch special on Sunday! Food was delicious. Their sesame pancakes are really special. I’ve add the thick pancake before but not the thin sesame pancake (see photos) and it was so good. Highly recommend. Parking was plentiful.
Umi Hotpot Sushi & Seafood Buffet
I had a fantastic lunch at Umi Hotpot Sushi & Seafood Buffet yesterday with my cousin! The all-you-can-eat format is incredibly reasonable, and the variety of food is impressive. Each dish was well-seasoned, making it a delight for the taste buds. The selection of fresh ingredients for hotpot was abundant, and the seafood options were simply amazing. The drinks were refreshing and perfectly complemented the meal. Overall, the atmosphere was wonderful, and I can't wait to return for another round of this delicious experience! Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal in the City of Industry.
Yeah fine dining is cool and all but sometimes you just want to stuff your face at a Chinese buffet XD If you come in with Vegas buffet expectations, you’ve already failed, my guy. I know, I know, the food and atmosphere might not be as bougie as a sit-down restaurant, but what they offer is the sheer variety of dishes under one roof. For $39.99 a person on weekends, you get access to a whole sushi section with nigiri, rolls, and sashimi, crab, seafood boil, ramen made to order, dim sum, mini hot pots at your table, and all the boba drinks. I was actually pleasantly surprised by how everything was prettily presented and tasted quite fresh, especially the sushi rolls which were my favorite. So set your expectations right and you’ll definitely have a good time. Thanks for reading! ^-^
19 Town
The best Chinese restaurant I ever had in America! 19 Town is an absolute gem in California's dining scene! The creativity and elegance infused into every dish are unparalleled. Each bite is a journey of exquisite flavors, beautifully presented and expertly crafted. The ambiance is chic and sophisticated, making it perfect for a special night out. The staff are attentive and knowledgeable, enhancing the overall experience. If you're looking for a top-notch Chinese restaurant that offers both culinary artistry and a luxurious atmosphere, 19 Town is the place to be!
Of all the dishes we ordered, my favorite was the Cheese Mapo Tofu Tarts followed by the Sauced Crispy Shrimp and Matcha Ice Cream for dessert. Those three dishes were fantastic. The House Special Fried Chicken Wings were also hot, crispy and juicy, and Wok-tossed Lobster Tail was tender and flavorful. We came to celebrate our anniversary, but weren’t really made to feel special by any means like I have at other fine dining restaurants. The front of house staff and servers were nice and friendly, but they didn’t really make an effort to connect with them and the interactions were very short. They didn’t check in with us during our meal and just dropped off dishes without any explanation either, which is possible I’m just used to how restaurants operate in the city of LA. It could be that this is the style of customer service here, as it’s a very different environment. They didn’t seem understaffed for a Saturday night. This place has a lot of potential, but just wasn’t for me. It’s a great spot for food and drinks though especially in the city of industry area if you’re looking for a place to hang out, eat good food and sip on some bevies.
S & W China Taste 上海小吃
I'd say this restaurant is a hidden treasure in LA. It is family owned, not appealing from exterior or interior but that's not the point. More importantly, their Shanghainese cuisine is one of the best in LA. The lady boss and her reception is always delightful. Chef is the owner so you can make sure he makes every dishes with cares. No MSG. A great place for family gathering.
A very few that are still left as a true authentic shanghanes style restaurant in southern california. The 2 are absolutely wonderful. What the place in a very depressed location? I wish the restaurant are in a better setting, but the food is the best
Fennel Bistro clay pot rice
This place is good if you’d like to try clay pot rice. They have a nice selection of items for you to try. The place is small, seating is pretty much set for 4 people per table with their bench seating. They can bring a chair if you have 5, but you tend to be blocking the walkway. it can be difficult to come with a larger party, but they do also have a bigger outdoor space. Parking is easy. Service is good, staff is friendly. Limited English, but luckily the menu ordering is on the iPad and you can swap between Chinese and English (though some of the English translations are a bit weird) We ordered the pork belly appetizer but it wasn’t the normal pork belly you may be thinking of. It was chewy, good spicy powder and dip. Probably wouldn’t order again but it was good. If you order a clamor dish, it comes with a soup or dessert. We got the black bean sauce short rib and the braised brisket short rib. Both delicious and good amount of protein. Tender meats, and full of flavor. The pork ribs are more savory while the braised brisket is on the sweeter. Portions are definitely more for individual, order multiple if you plan to share. For the price, I think it’s good value and fair. Rice is good, mix it well, I love the crispy rice from the pot. Desserts were fine, depending on what you prefer. The hot dessert is nice with a touch of sweetness. If you like sweet desserts, get the cold one as it’s more refreshing, lots of fruits and sweetness. I liked both. We’ll be back again when we’re craving clay pot rice and I’ll try something else next time
Modern cooking methods have made clay pot rice available as a lunch option. Instead of waiting over half an hour, you can now get it within 10 minutes—complete with steaming hot Chinese preserved meats and that perfect golden crust at the bottom. Friendly service and reasonable priced, a great spot for lunch.
Superior Wok
Had to get food in a hurry before work. Thought I would give this place a try. I was surprisingly impressed with how good the food is. I tried the orange chicken and BBQ pork. The orange chicken actually tasted better than most other Chinese restaurants I’ve been to. The noodles were fantastic as well. Got a small order of their spicy wings and they were legit…. Sticky, sweet, and spicy. I’ll definitely be back.
Very friendly staff. Food was warm, fresh and tasty. Not too much of a fan of the orange chicken. But the chow mein is excellent, similar to Panda Express’s.
