Capital Noodle Bar Brea
I walked in to dine on a Saturday afternoon and the service was amazing from the beginning. Very welcoming and friendly. I got three different dumplings plus hot tea and paid just under $40: 1. Spicy wantons - thin wrapper and nice filling, but the chili sauce was lacking in my opinion. It had a good spice but it was bitter and very dry, despite seeing the chili oil on the bottom. I think using a chili oil that has aromatics would work better and with some soy sauce for balance. 2. Juicy pork dumplings (their version of soup dumplings) - the order of 4 seemed really small compared to most dim sum places but the filling was sweet, seasoned, & very juicy. The soup part had already leaked out of two of mine unfortunately though. Also the wrapper thickness was not consistent; one was thin and three were very thick, too thick. The wrapper could be more thin. 3. Sui Mai - these Sui Mai were BIG! They were probably the best of the dumplings I tried. The filling was well seasoned, the shrimp was snappy, & a perfectly thin dumpling wrapper. Overall great spot for a dumpling/noodles fix & great service but certainly not a replacement for dim sum.
A Heartwarming Trio of Beef Noodle Soup If you're a fan of rich, flavorful, and comforting meals, this trio of beef noodle soup is an absolute must-try. Each bowl is a testament to the art of balancing bold flavors, tender textures, and aromatic spices, making it a truly unforgettable dining experience. The classic version is a timeless delight. The broth is deeply savory, with a robust beefy flavor that’s been simmered to perfection. The tender slices of beef melt in your mouth, while the chewy noodles provide the perfect contrast in texture. A hint of star anise and ginger adds a subtle warmth, making every spoonful a comforting embrace. This bowl is a nostalgic nod to tradition, executed flawlessly.
Super Juicy Dumpling [Brea, CA]
If you're looking for authentic Chinese food and soup dumplings, you have to try this place. I have been coming here for years!! Food is always spot on, and service is fast!
Pretty good. Taiwanese beef rolls were the best. The Shanghai fried buns were a bit too much bread and not enough meat. Everything else we ordered was good. Will definitely come back.
PanPan Wok
It seems they've got a new manager. It's much better than before. The taste, the environment and the service are all improved. This will be my long-term food source.
The man at the front is disgusting. He talks loudly while serving food. He spits everywhere when he speaks. He ruined my meal. I’m a delivery driver and often pick up orders here. This man’s attitude is always terrible. This is the last time I’m eating here. I won’t accept any more orders from this place. Not because of anything else just because of that rude, nasty man at the front.
