隆兴记 Long Xing Ji
This is the same Long Xing Ji that's in San Gabriel for the last 14 years with best juicy dumplings (see photo). In my opinion better and definitely cheaper than Din Tai xxx. My favorite is the Juicy Pork Dumplings (Sweet). We typically will knock down 3 to 4 orders per visit. While their San Gabriel location is remodeling, they just opened this location a week ago. There was only one other table when we stopped by for dinner. Be sure to visit them before they get busy. Updated:4/14/25: We visited Long Xing Ji again. Just can’t get enough of the port steamed dumplings. This time the wife ordered the large dumpling where you first drink the soup with a straw. See video.
Absolutely amazing. We got the scallion pancakes, the pork dumplings (not sweet), the vegetarian dumplings and buns and the green beans. Abd absolutely everything was so good. The staff are so kind and extremely fast. I cannot get over how good everything was and how sweet and kind the staff were.
Papa Lu’s Kitchen 陆家村
Prefect for family with senior and kids. Less salt. No over seasoned. All dishes are freshly cooked. You gotta try this in Baldwin park, Covina and West Covina area
I had the opportunity to dine at Papa Lu’s Kitchen in Baldwin Park, a restaurant specializing in Taishan cuisine from South China, near Guangzhou—a region my ancestors are from. Many classic American Chinese dishes have roots in this area, as the first wave of Chinese immigrants, including my ancestors, came from Taishan to build the railroads in the U.S. The food at Papa Lu’s stands out from the usual Cantonese fare. Their Taishan Yellow Eel Claypot Rice was a highlight for me—richly fragrant with perfectly cooked rice, tender eel, and a unique flavor that you won’t find elsewhere. Another standout dish was their braised goose, which took me right back to my childhood, when my grandma would prepare similar meals. The goose, slow-braised for hours, was full of deep, savory flavors. Papa Lu’s also offers a variety of Taishan specialties like Roasted Chicken, Pork Tripe with Chicken Soup, sticky rice stuffed intestine, and Vegetable Fruit Claypot Rice. This family-owned spot not only serves delicious food but also delivers great service with a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. If you’re looking to explore beyond typical Cantonese cuisine, I highly recommend trying Papa Lu’s for a taste of Taishan’s unique flavors.
Hong Kong Fast Food
We went in there for the first time today, and the nicest ladies run this restaurant. They piled the food so high in the two to-go boxes, I think we may have enough food for 2-3 meals. Great deal, but more importantly, support your local business, especially when it’s run by such sweet ladies. Also, the spicy orange chicken, spare ribs and popcorn chicken are top notch! Thank you ladies :)
The nicest ladies operate this place. The food is great, the portions are awesome. She let us try some of the foods and even gave us a sample of her favorites options to take home and try. 10/10 coming back
Maine Express
What an amazing dining experience! The service here was fantastic—our server was friendly, attentive, and made excellent suggestions. The food was divine, especially the dumplings, which were plump and flavorful. The Szechuan chicken had the right amount of spice without being overwhelming. The ambiance was just right—elegant yet cozy, with a mix of traditional Chinese elements and modern touches. I loved the soothing music and the soft lighting. This is definitely my go-to place for great Chinese food!
I was blown away by the experience here. The service was warm and attentive, ensuring everything was perfect. The food was amazing; we tried a variety of dishes, and every one of them was packed with flavor. The sushi rolls were so fresh, and the stir-fry was perfectly balanced. The ambiance was beautifully modern, with comfortable seating and low lighting. It’s the ideal spot for a relaxed yet special night out!
Wok N Noodles
One of the best beef chow funs I've had. Well seasoned, not too salty not too bland, perfect flavoring. Beef is very tender and soft. The noodles are cooked to precise. Big big portions! Well priced. Lovely ambiance. Very modern aesthetics inside. Wide selection of drinks as well. Service was great. If I'm ever in the address again, definitely coming back!!
Walked in here because the restaurant looked super clean and the menu was small, so I said how bad could the food be🤷♂️. SO BOMB!! I ordered the beef chow fun and I’m definitely getting lunch here again! The noodles weren’t so greasy or over spiced like other spots. The flavor was spot on
Chinese 4 You
Incredible value, huge portions, very tasty, Gloria was fantastic, their beef and shrimp dishes are awesome !
Great food and service all around! They are offering 10% off all orders. I ordered Orange Chicken and Beef Broccoli combo. Both are really tasty! My wife ordered Pepper Beef and Mayonnaise Shrimp combo. She loves it. Can't pass on some great saving and tasty food! Definitely will be back soon.
Long Xing Ji Juicy Dumpling
At the time of this writing, this restaurant is now fully open in Baldwin Park!! (Second week of opening). I was informed that they are currently trying to get Google to update the address etc. New address is 1628 Puente Ave, Baldwin Park. Next to Orchid Thai restaurant. They are open until 9 pm everyday as of this writing. The food is just as good as I remembered it from the original location. Ordered the pork wonton soup, pork dumplings, and their signature juicy pork & crab bun. Very filling, flavorful, and packed full of meat! Prices are reasonable for what you get. The interior was also very clean, and the staff was friendly as well. It is truly an oasis of real asian food in Baldwin Park, and just as tasty or even better than what you can find at Haven City Market. Highly recommended to visit for lunch/dinner.
I love that they had fish dumplings (both soup and pan fried). The pan fried dumplings are a must. Skin is so crispy on the bottom. The steamed soup dumplings are so fragrant and contain a huge chunk of fish. Loved the taste of everything.
Meizhou Express
Ordered DanDan Noodle and Fried Rice for two. Asked two small extra bowls and was served with a kind smile. Flavors were authentic but a bit too salty for me. Enjoyable!
Great little Chinese restaurant. I know there are a lot to choose from in the area, but they specialize in Szechuan cuisine and duck. The sliced beef with chili sauce was exactly what I wanted. The fried rice was excellent. I definitely want to try and visit again to try their noodles. The jellyfish and cabbage was really tasty as well.
Tasty Delight
I recently dined at Tasty Delight and had a fantastic experience! The service was exceptional from start to finish; the staff was friendly, attentive, and eager to ensure we had everything we needed. The salt and pepper chicken was perfectly cooked, with a delightful blend of spices that delivered just the right amount of heat from the jalapeño. The crispy exterior paired beautifully with the tender meat inside. The portion sizes were generous, making it a great value for the price. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it a perfect spot for a casual meal. Overall, I highly recommend Tasty Delight and their Salt and Pepper Chicken!!!!!!
We always go here right after getting a haircut nextdoor. Sometimes we just go just because. It's so underrated and I wish more people knew about it because it has one of the best Chinese foods I've ever had (even better than panda express). Their boba is great and one of my favorites as well as their egg drop soup, orange chicken, chow mein, and especially their popcorn chicken which is a personal favorite. Overall, y'all should just come here and check the place out.
China Gate Restaurant
Excellent service, great portions, and fast serving times! The most important thing is that they have reasonable prices! My beef with broccoli was delicious, full of beef and vegetables. I did check out the menu online before actually going to China gate because there are so many choices...glad I did!
This Chinese food is hands down the best Chinese food on this side of town! It is always fresh and they cook the food really well.I had the Mushroom Chicken,to be honest, this is my favorite taste! I will come back!
Panda Express
I ordered through GrubHub because it happens to be a lazy day for me. The location is less than 10 minutes from me, so my review is not based on cold food or food that has been sitting in a car for too long waiting to be delivered. I have been to several Panda expresses throughout the USA and this by far is at the bottom of the list 😕 Everything was just mediocre and it is what it is. I ordered the bigger plate that comes with a choice of three... I chose Honey walnut shrimp, the Beijing beef and the Sesame chicken with half steamed rice and half lo mein. Not super impressed, but I got my Panda Express craving out of the way.
Not the place that I was expecting. I love Panda Express but NOT this location. Stay away. Go to another one if you're able. The staff wasn't friendly and some collar shirt people were there. Maybe managemen? And even they were not friendly. HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. That's what helps with chain restaurants but maybe they're not enjoying what they do. The food was not good either. Rice was meh. Orange Chicken was not fresh and if this would have been my first time trying Orange Chicken, I would say it's not good at all. No working A/C at this location. Felt so hot and all we wanted to do was just leave! This location: BAD BAD BAD!
Auntie Kitchen
**AWARE**Fake Hainam Chicken** Ordered BBQ Pork with Hainam Chicken Rice, pork is out so substituted with roasted duck. You called this Hainam Chicken? There’s no seasoning in the rice or special sauce on the side for the chicken! Only the ginger sauce! It looks like BaiZhanJi!
The food was really fresh and tasty services was amazing and price is really cheap. The family running this place is really helpful and friendly The food was fresh and tasty. The portion was very generous. Beef stew was ultra tender Yang chow fried rice was overflowing. Across cash and card.
