Don’t be fooled by the order at the counter service Or the simple decor. The food is awesome. The American style Chinese food is top-notch and the Thai food is legit. I really enjoyed everything. From even the orange chicken, which was very lightly battered and very crispy. They use high-quality ingredients and they said they only use Angus beef for all of their beef products. This is a true gem. Oh the crispy chicken… omg so good.

Absolutely amazing experience at China Basil I had the Tom Yum soup and the beef fried rice and it was spectacular bursting with authentic flavors and cooked to perfection. The service was top-notch; the staff was friendly, attentive, and made me feel welcome and comfortable. On top of that, the restaurant was spotless, which made the whole dining experience even better. If you’re craving delicious Thai food, this is the place to go!

We've been to the other locations, but this one always wins with us. Pretty much anything you order is great.. I had a great curry dish this last visit, and it was perfectly spiced, and was a giant portion that was great for leftover lunch..

We were tired after shopping and decided to try this place out. And I am so happy that we did! I had one of the best curry I've ever tried. Pad Thai was also amazing and presentation is beautiful. Portions are plentiful. Next time around we'll order just one dish for the two of us. Service was excellent and super fast! Our waitress was very nice and attentive. Thank you Tottie's Asian Fusion

This place came highly recommended. I was disappointed. The restaurant is dark, dated, and not the cleanest or most welcoming. Order at the counter to the employee behind the Covid glass. I ordered the lemon chicken and it was okay. Too much breading and the lemon sauce did not have much flavor. The portion size was more than adequate. The egg roll accompanying the meal was delicious and the major highlight of the meal. The lunch meal was about $12 with a very small fountain soda. No plates for dine-in orders.

UPDATE: I think they are having some plumbing issues because I walked in yesterday 08/26/2024, and it smelled like sewage. Gotta keep it real, it's not cool when dining in. This time around (08/26/24), I ordered a drink and they forgot it. I asked for a refund, and the manager does not know how to do it. So she said next time I will get the drink free with a new order. This experience made me want to go less. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken with fried rice, and it all tasted old except for the fried rice, like the smell of a dirty sponge, and so I threw it away. Do not get the sweet and sour chicken. Orange Chicken is your best bet. They have their own in house chili oil and it is amazing. Savory and aromatic like garlic. I've been to Ma and Pop Chinese Places, as well as the usual generic ones like Panda Express, Rice Garden, Dragon Garden, and Dragon Express. This place isnt the best I've had because of the dirty sponge taste from my last time here (08/26/24). It will move down a few tiers because this is the only place that has a dirty sponge taste to the food. The cost per portion is fantastic considering that this is located in the nice area of Scottsdale Arizona. You walk in, and the place was spotless: floors were very clean, and it did not smell like dirty oil. You can smell the sauces, as well as the charr when they are cooking your order. It does, however, currently as of 08/26/24, smell like sewage inside the restaurant. They need to get on that. The review below is from my first visit. Today, I ordered the Orange Chicken dinner combo, which comes with your choice of white or fried rice, OR low mein noodles. It comes with an egg roll and a cream cheese ragoon, and I believe some egg drop soup. With tax, this cost me around $13, and I also ordered 8 pot stickers, and total this meal cost me $22, which is very cheap for how much you get. (PHOTOS SHOWN). The fried rice was fire. It has this clean charr flavor from its cook, mixed with green onions, and has this intoxicating garlic scent that you do not need sauce with it. The orange chicken was crunchy, and not too saucy. It's drier than Dragon Garden's orange chicken, and less oily than Panda's. Just overall better. Flavor profile is predominantly garlic and something else I can't put my finger on. It's freaking delicious. It's a nice, cool place to beat the heat, and the food and service makes me feel at home. Ranking from best to worst in terms of cost, portion size and quality, the order goes: 1. Dragon Garden 2. House of Yang 3. Panda Express 4. Dragon Express They need to fix these things if they want me to come back: -fixing the smell of sewage problem inside the restaurant -forgetting simple orders Thank you for reading.

Happened to walk by during lunch and decided to pop in. So happy I found this little gem. Not only was it reasonably priced, but the food was full of flavor without being overly saucy. I had the Mongolian beef. The meat was tender and the veggies were crisp and well cooked. Probably one of the better Mongolian beef dishes I’ve had in a while (even from more expensive places). I also had the opportunity to try their wings. The tempura style breading was great! I tend to only write reviews if something stands out as really good (or bad). This place definitely stood out as a place I’d recommend. I will be back. Oh and bonus, the service was excellent.

Okay, Liz Modern Asian, you’ve officially won me over. We popped in for lunch, and let me tell you—delicious doesn’t even begin to cover it. The prices? On point. The food? Straight-up mouthwatering. We got the steamed buns, and OMG, I was NOT disappointed. They were everything I didn’t know I needed. Plus, the staff? Super friendly and quick. I’m pretty sure I blinked and my food was already there. If you're looking for a spot that’s fast, tasty, and a whole vibe, this is it. 10/10, will be back for more buns (and probably a little of everything else on the menu).

This is one of the worst PEI Wei locations in the valley! The sauces ar either too runny, there is hair in the food, the lettuce cups are rotten or have bugs and there is an overall lack of flavor. If this location really wants to be better they need to send their cooks to go shadow the location at 7th Street and Glendale, where they Consistently have the best Pei Wei in the valley. Pei Wei is a chain store. There shouldn’t be surprises. It should be consistently good or bad or mediocre. I have had good dishes at this location, but unfortunately, the bad ones are what remain foremost in my mind. There is no continuity. There is no consistency. Save your money. You’re better off going next-door to the tavern where the food is consistently the same. I’ve talked to the manager at this location, and although he might be willing to comp a meal or something, he doesn’t really seem to understand that there is a major problem here the cooks are not consistent. The cooks do not do a good job and I am unsure whether it’s a issue or a competence issue, but in the face of having a competence issue that is not amenable to rehabilitation maybe they should , find a new chef! AVOID! I found a hair in my last meal and somehow the company was able to get my photos and review removed. The hair was in the overly runny sauce that did not properly coat the meat. Seriously, the chef doesn’t even know how to make that delicious king pao sauce stick to the meat. I did not want meat soup with hair in it.

I lIve in Flagstaff and work all over the state, I love Pei Wei and have been to nearly every location throughout AZ, while each one has it's small differences...and things have changed post COVID, my wife picked up a to-go order from this location 8787 N Scottsdale Rd #214/216, Scottsdale, AZ 85253. IT WAS NOT PEI WEI. For the first time in twenty years I didn't enjoy the food. The vegetables were off, meat and cuts off, brown rice not pei wei. Every dish was off. If you work for PEI WEI quality control this location is tanking your stellar reputation. ~A loyal customer for 20 years.

First time here with husband for lunch. The place is honestly not very esthetically pleasing but the food, price, and service makes it a definite winner. The fountain drink machine was broken so we could only get a can of soda (kind of a bummer). The food is very decent especially for the cost and quick turn around time. I ordered the chicken with garlic sauce (not spicy) with fried rice and you have your choice of a drink, soup, or a crispy Rangoon or egg roll. My husband ordered the Kung pao chicken and really liked it. We each got a drink with the meals and ordered a large hot and spur soup to share. I've had better hot and sour soup, but it was still good. Would definitely come back again. Our bill was $27 and we'll worth it.

Deff a dive restaurant. There are no seating, the soda machine looks like it’s been broken awhile, no free water available, 12oz can of soda is $1.84 (make sure to bring your own drink), everything is served with cheap plastic forks, spoons, paper plates, and cheap napkins. I ordered sesame chicken which wasn’t that bad - 2/5 stars. Egg drop soup had zero flavors - 0/5. My mom ordered broccoli & beef - she gave it 0/5 stars due to no flavor. I tried hers it has like a funnel cake flavor which through me off at the end but 0 flavors. There’s boxes and junk all over seating so people were standing or on a random chair near the soda machine. Overrall experience 1/5 stars, won’t be back there again.

It's worth getting the 3 entree meal here. I ate it all like a champ... It's a lot of food and could probably be shared if snacking. Worth treating yourself for less than $15

This place is the busiest location I've ever seen for dinner going through the drive thru. Go before 5pm if possible. Sometimes is difficult when it's so busy that the cars in parking lot can't get out due to the backed up drive thru line. The upside is the food is usually very fresh because they are always cooking to keep up with demand.

So I went here on Super bowl Sunday after a long day. Couldn't find very many establishments that were open because of Super bowl. I found this particular spot and got the Orange Chicken and Fried Wontons it was great and much better than my first experience in another location. The only thing I would change is the sweetness of the sauce it was a little much but great.

Went last week, hot honey chicken meal was pretty good but the host was rude and kept banging his knee against a metal cupboard like some nervous tick and i counted them do it over 100 times in 5 minutes. Because the food was tasty I tried once again this week. Different nicer host but only one chef and he kept literally checking his phone which was dinging with new texts while he "cooked" with his right hand. Couldn't finish fast enough and went and sat to text more. Guess what, that was last night and I've been terribly sick since (15 hours later my body evacuated everything). Avoid this place like the plague. Their corporate offered me NOTHING for getting food POISONED? HAHAHA

Quiet restaurant. Good food, perfect portions for dinner. Quick and polite service. Maybe a pit pricey, but seems to be the norm these days. The menu has lots to choose from. Spicy dishes are well marked on the menu.

Been a diner here since, 2004 (Been to their prior locations). I love to consider all of them like family and there food for me is reminder of a home cook meal, made with love & tradition from the times I have gone their food remains in my heart and sizzling rice soup is my main favorite here and my families. Thank you for staying open all these years!
