Golden Wok Chinese Restaurant
Golden Wok is a solid choice for Asian cuisine with consistently good food and attentive service. While nothing particularly stands out as exceptional, it's a reliable spot where it's hard to go wrong with most menu items. The Orange Chicken was definitely the highlight of our visit this time. It struck that nice balance of sweet and savory, served with perfectly cooked rice. The Pork Potstickers were also pretty good, and the Egg Drop Soup delivered that comforting flavor and warmth you'd expect. The House Chow Mein was a bit plain. While not bad, it wasn't memorable enough to specifically order again. Similarly, the Thai Spicy Basil Chicken, while decent, was fairly mild on the spice level and left us wanting more spicy and flavor. Service was consistently attentive throughout our visit, with the team making sure we had everything we needed. Should you visit Golden Wok, I hope you enjoy as much as we did!
This is the new family choice it seems for birthdays, etc. The food is consistently fresh, hot, and flavorful. The staff are very attentive and friendly. It's small but, you can actually have conversation and hear what your party from across the table is saying without having to talk loud like in many other restaurants these days! Overall it's very comfortable and they make you feel at home!
Iron Chef
I can't say enough good things about Iron Chef, it's staff, it's manager Nicky, the chefs, and the food. We've been coming for years and always have a great experience. It's one of the more reasonably priced restaurants in Phoenix with amazing food! They outdid themselves last week when they hosted an event for our family with 35 people! The evening was handled perfectly. Our guests were surprised by the quality of food and the Sushi boat was a huge hit. Cindy and Bella were incredibly attentive during the dinner. Nicky, the manager, made all the planning leading up to the event stress free. He was very receptive with great communication. We would definitely host other events at Iron Chef and it will continue to remain one of our favorite restaurants!
This place was delicious! The food is fresh, made quickly and fairly priced with large portions. They have an all you can eat sushi menu that my dad had a blast sampling. This is the best Asian restaurant I have found in Arizona since moving here 4 years ago! We will be returning.
Nee House Chinese Restaurant
Excellent, authentic with top rated food and service. Steve was cheerful, friendly, knowledgeable, and humble. Staff was supportive. I had Singapore noodles vegan style with snow peas, cabbage, broccoli, onions, and water chestnuts. The vegetables were tender and had a good texture, not soft or soggy. The curry was flavorful and had a subtle zing. If you like meat, it's really good as it was my favorite before going vegan. All the food here is good, and there's a reason it's voted one of the Best in the valley. This is a bustling family place much loved by locals. There were many to go orders. I went before the rush. Ample parking in a large strip mall on a busy intersection. Enjoy.
I am not the person who leaves a nasty review after one bad experience - anyone can have a bad day. But this is honestly the worst Chinese food we've ever had. Ordered take-out and it was so bad I actually returned it. Fried rice and hot-sour soup were ok - not great, but fine. The crab rangoons were literally inedible - they tasted like old crumbly dough. Bang Bang shrimp - big shrimps for sure, but hardly any flavor, really bland. Some noodle/chicken/veggie dish - a good portion but again no flavor. No sauce hardly, just super bland - not good at all. I actually returned the uneaten rangoons and the noodle dish. They weren't happy but they agreed to give me my money back for those two dishes. Guess what? Instead of refunding my money they charged me again for them! Now I have to go back in person a third time to deal with it. Now this is going to sound bad, and granted I have only been inside this restaurant one time, but when I was there there wasn't a patron in the place under 70 years old. Maybe that is why the food was so bland - they are catering to elderly people from the midwest who don't know any better. I may be wrong, just an observation.
Lim's Chinese Restaurant
This place has been around since I was a kid, like 35 years. Excellent chow men, orange chicken, egg rolls. Sweet and sour pork, and fried chicken. I get the takeout, and it's two full meals. Four stars đ
I'm going to give this restaurant a 4 star rating. I have been coming here since I was 12 years old, and I am 32 years old now. I lived in North Scottsdale, and I drove all the way down 45 min away to Lim's because it's a great little "hole in the wall" type of restaurant! They just upgraded the inside, and it is a lot nicer than what it was. On a day where I want to pig out and have heavy, yummy Asian food, this is my go-to place. It's VERY affordable, and the best part is, it's all you can eat! You can also get takeout for a great price!
Mr Cooks
My kids grabbed a Chinese food brochure for Mr. Cook's Chinese Cuisine from the door and insisted on takeout. Mr. C's is a small counter-service restaurant with limited seating. They have many lunch and dinner specials. We got a nice selection. Everything was pretty good and reasonably priced. The kids were happy!
Against my better judgement and intuition we ordered from here. It was a costly mistake!!! We WERE loyal customers! The day after and as I type this review, I am still disgusted and pissed off by the time and money wasted on and the amount of inedible food we had to throw away. Here was our order and cost: 1) Boneless spare ribs $10.75 (7/10) (this was the best dish but, it was way over sauced) 2) Shrimp fried rice $9.25- 1/10 ( I couldnât even swallow it because it was so hard and old) 3) Chicken Lo Mein ($9.50 value) - 3/10 (The noodles were cooked fine but, again this was flovorleas, too. This was free because of the minimum total promotion.) 4) Shrimp Egg Foo Young $10.25 - 1/10 (It was bland and the gravy was so cold ot looked like jello pudding and was just as gloveless) 5) House Mein Fun $10.25 - 1/10 (Bland) 6) Sesame Chicken $11.75 -0/10 (It was way over sauced and hard) 7) Shrimp w/Garlic Sauce $12.20 - 3/10 *(This was the dish that we previously enjoyed and the reason we ordered food again.) **The egg roll that came with one of the meals was overcooked but, more flavorful than any of the dishes.** There were NO eating utensils, napkins and only 2 fortune cookies and 4 soy sauce packets. We threw away the sesame chicken, shrimp egg foo young, shrimp fried rice and the house special Mein fun We threw the rest away today because as my daughter said âit wasnât going to get any betterâ. I hate to waste food. There is so much of it in the world but, to have the audacity to charge for less than mediocre is diabolical! I actually only had one bite of most of the food of which I spat every bite out. As a a chef, I was gobsmacked at how awful the food and our experience was. I finally called the restaurant in about 30 minutes late; the same time it took to make it home and take a bite. The manager said his name was Ben and the fact that o had to debate with him about how awful the food was and to demand a controllable of a refund was beyond me. I deserved a full refund minus the boneless barbecue pork and I NEVER order pork nor eat it. I have yet to receive the refund for the two meals I agreed to under duress. The more I think about it the more I want to file a claim with my bank. I was robbed! No wonder they give away food with a certain total. Sadly, the negative reviews are true. I have eaten around the world and this experience is on the top of my DO NOT EAT LIST! The last picture was showing all of the meals we threw away.
Pei Wei Asian Kitchen
This location offers a great dining experience with spacious outdoor seating, making it a perfect spot to enjoy a meal in a relaxed atmosphere. The food was flavorful and well-prepared, delivering the bold Asian-inspired taste I expected. However, the portion sizes were a bit smaller than anticipated, which was slightly disappointing. Overall, a good choice for quality food and ambiance, but a little more quantity would make it even better.
I came here for opening day with my mom for her birthday and we met Jet Tila, which was amazing. Ive watched him on Cutthroat Kitchen since I was a kid. Anyways, got the Bourbon Chicken before I realized Jet had a dish, but the Bourbon chicken was way better thane expected. It was more sweet than savory, but I enjoyed how soft and juicy the chicken was, and the sear was great. A very hearty dish that left me full for hours.
Yoshi's Fresh Asian Grill
âââââ Yoshi's Asian Grill is already a favorite, but my recent visit was exceptional thanks to Joy! Her warm welcome and genuine smile instantly brightened my day. She even complimented my happy mood, but honestly, it was her infectious positivity that made me feel so joyful! The food was fantastic too - I had the teriyaki chicken and it was cooked to perfection. Joy's excellent service truly enhanced my dining experience, and I can't wait to return to Yoshi's Asian Grill. Ask for Joy â you won't be disappointed!
Food looked good as soon as I opened the container but the food was mediocre at best, rice was overcooked, it looked like sticky rice. The sauce was sour, meat had a lot of nerve, did not enjoyed or finished. They're charging premium price for low quality ingredients. Last time going to this place.
China Chef Bistro
I recently discovered this hidden gem for authentic Chinese cuisine! The prices are incredibly reasonable, and every dish is crafted with fresh, in-house ingredients. A true hole-in-the-wall with flavors that will keep you coming back. Highly recommend!
We recently moved to this area & are trying out all the new to us restaurants. For Chinese food we have found out new go to restaurant right here. Excellent food, good pricing, great service. We would much rather support a genuine restaurant like this one over a chain franchise & frankly the food here is simply much much better. Highly recommended.
The Wok Express
Will absolutely be our new go to when eating out! Best Chinese food I've had in Phoenix, hands down, and incredible service as well. They were welcoming and kind and the food was out in minutes. We love it here!
Great food for the price. Went there on Valentine's. It is nothing special but the food is very good. We had the dinner special which includes an entrée, soup, 3 crab puffs, an egg roll, and fried rice. Large portions. The service was slow with take-outs and walk in. But the food was fresh and tasted good. The soup was served immediately. The crab wonton had lots of cream cheese and the egg rolls were homemade. The sizes are good and we had enough to take home for another meal. The special was a little over $12.00. Reasonably priced for what we got. Definitely will return.
House Of Yang
This place came highly recommended. I was disappointed. The restaurant is dark, dated, and not the cleanest or most welcoming. Order at the counter to the employee behind the Covid glass. I ordered the lemon chicken and it was okay. Too much breading and the lemon sauce did not have much flavor. The portion size was more than adequate. The egg roll accompanying the meal was delicious and the major highlight of the meal. The lunch meal was about $12 with a very small fountain soda. No plates for dine-in orders.
UPDATE: I think they are having some plumbing issues because I walked in yesterday 08/26/2024, and it smelled like sewage. Gotta keep it real, it's not cool when dining in. This time around (08/26/24), I ordered a drink and they forgot it. I asked for a refund, and the manager does not know how to do it. So she said next time I will get the drink free with a new order. This experience made me want to go less. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken with fried rice, and it all tasted old except for the fried rice, like the smell of a dirty sponge, and so I threw it away. Do not get the sweet and sour chicken. Orange Chicken is your best bet. They have their own in house chili oil and it is amazing. Savory and aromatic like garlic. I've been to Ma and Pop Chinese Places, as well as the usual generic ones like Panda Express, Rice Garden, Dragon Garden, and Dragon Express. This place isnt the best I've had because of the dirty sponge taste from my last time here (08/26/24). It will move down a few tiers because this is the only place that has a dirty sponge taste to the food. The cost per portion is fantastic considering that this is located in the nice area of Scottsdale Arizona. You walk in, and the place was spotless: floors were very clean, and it did not smell like dirty oil. You can smell the sauces, as well as the charr when they are cooking your order. It does, however, currently as of 08/26/24, smell like sewage inside the restaurant. They need to get on that. The review below is from my first visit. Today, I ordered the Orange Chicken dinner combo, which comes with your choice of white or fried rice, OR low mein noodles. It comes with an egg roll and a cream cheese ragoon, and I believe some egg drop soup. With tax, this cost me around $13, and I also ordered 8 pot stickers, and total this meal cost me $22, which is very cheap for how much you get. (PHOTOS SHOWN). The fried rice was fire. It has this clean charr flavor from its cook, mixed with green onions, and has this intoxicating garlic scent that you do not need sauce with it. The orange chicken was crunchy, and not too saucy. It's drier than Dragon Garden's orange chicken, and less oily than Panda's. Just overall better. Flavor profile is predominantly garlic and something else I can't put my finger on. It's freaking delicious. It's a nice, cool place to beat the heat, and the food and service makes me feel at home. Ranking from best to worst in terms of cost, portion size and quality, the order goes: 1. Dragon Garden 2. House of Yang 3. Panda Express 4. Dragon Express They need to fix these things if they want me to come back: -fixing the smell of sewage problem inside the restaurant -forgetting simple orders Thank you for reading.
June House Asian Kitchen
We stopped in for a quick lunch today. We were impressed with the slightly different takes on traditional dishes. My wife had the walnut shrimp. The coating was very light, airy and not greasy at all. The sweetness was delicate but was very good. My sweet and spicy shrimp had a more complex flavors than profile with very subtle sweetness and moderate red pepper heat. The restaurant is only adequate for seating and presentation was in take out containers rather than plated but we were there for the food which was impressive.
This is my 3rd time here. The food is pretty good and very consistent. Prices are resonable. Today I got a Won Ton Soup, Beef Lo Mein and Mongolian Beef.
P.F. Chang's
My partner and I are regulars at P.F. Changâs, and Megan is hands down the best server we have ever had. She truly makes our dining experience exceptional every single time. Meganâs attentiveness and attention to detail are unparalleled. My partner has strict dietary restrictionsâgluten-free and dairy-freeâand I have multiple food allergies. Megan always handles our special requests with such care and professionalism, making sure we feel completely at ease. She never makes us feel like our needs are a burden, and we genuinely appreciate her for that. We look forward to dining at P.F. Changâs every week, and Megan is a big part of why we keep coming back. We always make it a point to ask for her because we know weâll receive outstanding service. Sheâs top-notch and an absolute gem. Thank you, Megan, for being so amazingâyouâve set the bar high!
Spreading the word about PF Changâs awesome Happy Hour! Itâs all day, everyday, with $5 margaritas and $10 appetizers. The relaxed vibe on the patio makes this place the perfect post-work treat.
