The Buffet
Three of us came just for the New Years Day buffet because we heard it was great. It was okay. Some things were really good like the boiled shrimp, beef steak, turkey, cake desserts, funnel cake, Gelato, cranberry sauce were on spot. The hopping John was awesome. The corn on the cob was good, as was the cabbage, & sliced potatoes. The shrimp salad, crab salad and Cesar salad were great. But other items were lacking- mashed potatoes, the cabbage was wimpy, the sweet potatoes had a weird taste,, the Italian green beans were over cooked and limp, the flank steak lacked in flavor, the potato salad used sweet pickles, the pickled beets were too sweet. The pizza was just okay. The ham was over salted but otherwise would have been tasty. So food gets 3 star s because a place like this can do much better! There was a very good atmosphere considering the full house of patrons. We had very good, friendly, attentive service. The bathrooms were very clean and kept up. There were enough good items to come back and enjoy!
Would be much better if built in non-smoking building. Buffet mediocre but better than others on the Mississippi coast. Roast beef looked good until trying to eat it. Had to ask for a steak knife but too tough for it. Gave up. Turkey was good. Fried chicken didn't look appetizing so didn't even try. Standard buffet food array covering Italian, Southern, oriental etc. They did have more food category items than some other casino buffets. Their salad bar was small and unappealing. Wanted peel and eat 'em shrimp. A few were good but majority were mushy. No crab legs. This is a one and done place for me. Husband had different items than me and was not impressed. He didn't even eat much. Thought he got a pumpkin pie but wasn't sure what it was when eating it. Whipped cream better. Sad.

Bahama Bob's Beach Side Cafe
The crab legs were amazing! We also shared the grilled shrimp and scallops which were also good. May have to stop back in before we leave town! Jaci was our Server and offered great suggestions. She was very attentive on a busy night!
We’ve been coming to Gulf Shores for years but have never eaten at Bahama Bobs. We have been missing out! We ordered the pound of fried crab claws and they were scrumptious and a hefty pound. In addition, my husband ordered the fried shrimp poboy and it was phenomenal. It was hot and fresh and had an abundance of shrimp on it. I ordered the steamed crab leg/royal red shrimp platter and it gets 10+ stars from me. It was seasoned perfectly and the royal reds were the best I have EVER eaten and so clean! We will be back but tonight, we’ll be eating our leftovers because they give so much food. Our server was very attentive and friendly also.
