Mikato Japanese Restaurant
Food was great, prices were great and service was great. Went with friends for Hibachi. Our chef was fun and funny, just the way you like your Hibachi. Lol! It was so much food, we had left overs. It was just as good the next day, which I love. We will be back.
We hit up Mikato for Mom’s birthday bash, A private room in the back, away from the splash. Fifteen deep, ready to laugh and dine, Everything was awesome, we had a great time! But here’s a tip if you’re not gonna eat: They’ll charge you ten bucks just for your seat. Now, this makes sense in a big open space, But in a private room, it feels out of place. So grab your friend’s sushi if you don’t wanna pay, That’s the secret trick to save the day! Now Jimmy, our chef, what a dazzling pro, Put on a show with a fiery glow! Made us laugh, kept us grinning all night, With jokes and tricks, his timing was tight. Chicken’s texture? Not quite my groove, But the shrimp? Oh, it sure made a move! So here’s the deal, if you want a fun treat, Mikato’s got flavor and chefs you should meet! . If you're looking for authentic and honest reviews, be sure to follow me on Google Reviews. Foodcraft
A beautiful dining experience on the beach in Gulf Shores, AL!🦪🍤 Foodcraft offers a delicious variety of eats with views to go with it! Atmosphere: The building is located right next to the beach and offers a clear view to the ocean with its beautiful glass walls. The interior has a modern-coastal look, and the exterior has a deck with seating outlooking the water. They even had live jazz music playing when we visited! Service: Our waitress, Maria, was so kind and made sure that everyone’s orders were correct for our group of 8! The food didn’t take long to prepare either which was a plus! Menu items: I got to try their brunch menu! For appetizers, I had half a dozen oysters and got their Eggs Benedict with crab cakes and a side of breakfast potatoes for my entree! Everything tasted fresh and flavorful, and the portion sizes were perfect—not too much and not too little! Aside from the delicious food and beautiful views, their food presentation is excellent! I’d definitely want to come back to try more of their menu items!🧾
We were pleasantly surprised with this seaside gem! The restaurant looks brand new and it's really cute inside. The menu is very imaginative with some really unique dishes. Everything we got was really delicious with tons of creativity and flavor. Hands down the best restaurant we ate at in the Gulf Shores. It's the perfect place for a romantic date, family dinner, or large party complete with private room!
King Neptune's Seafood Restaurant
This place never disappoints. While looking over their lunch menu, I decided to branch out and get non-seafood items. The hamburger steak did not disappoint! The fried okra was some of the best I've had. My boy loved the fried fish sandwich and chocolate pudding as well. This has been on our annual list of restaurants for several years and will definitely continue to be.
I would eat here all the time if I lived closer! FABULOUS and FRESH seafood! FRIENDLY and ATTENTIVE (but not overbearing) service! FUN atmosphere (great patio!) I was greeted instantly with a friendly smile. Dogs are welcome on their shaded patio. Sara, my server, was fantastic--friendly, funny, professional. She made great recommendations since I'm new to Gulf Shores and everything on the menu looked so good. The drinks were good and actually had a decent quantity of booze, not like the other touristy places in Gulf Shores. (Margarita, Bushwacker). The fresh, raw oysters were HUGE, sweet, juicy, slightly tangy. The steamed Royal Reds platter was delish!! When I passed by other tables, their seafood platters looked amazing. The prices are good, quality is excellent, and serving size is generous. Their seafood is so fresh and tasty. The Key Lime Pie was as good as mine (I used to make KLP professionally as a Chef when I lived in the Caribbean, and there are a lot of awful KLPs in this area!). I can't wait to go back and try some crab, more fresh oysters, beignets, and different cocktails! Thanks for a delicious lunch, best I've had on Gulf Shores!
Mikee's Seafood
This should be an all 5 star rating. Everything was great ... except ... the server dropped off our check and didn't ask if we needed anything else. We were going to order another glass of wine and dessert to go but we didn't get the opportunity. The scallops were amazing and the hush puppies are the best I've ever been served. We were sorry that we didn't find this restaurant on our first visit to Gulf Shores three years ago.
We came in for lunch on a Monday after leaving the beach. We were still in beach attire with beach hair! No problem! We ordered the AYCE fish and shrimp served from 11-2 pm and it was delicious! Service was great, even when I accidentally knocked over my tea! So embarrassing, but they moved us to the next open table and cleaned up quickly with no complaints. They were very nice about it. The atmosphere is very casual with good music and friendly staff. The prices aren't outrageous in either direction, but pretty comparable. We will definitely be back and I do recommend.
Hammered Crab
My daughter definitely could have done the seafood boil rather than the ayce crab option. Decent happy hour options. Our server Doug was brilliant. The burger was a hard pass, it was not good. My son said the chicken strips were pretty good. Gulf shrimp boil was delicious. Mozzarella sticks were good.
Crab tasted great though where a little tricky to get meat out of some legs. Only had a few that were cooked perfectly and slid right out of the shell. My husband had the prime rub, said it was good, has had better though. I would say it wasn't quite worth the price.
China Dragon
We used to love this place. We used to order from here at least once a month. Then it was sold. The new owner is abysmal! He's not nice to his workers and extremely rude to customers! Nothing like the sweet lady who used to own it. The food has really gone downhill. The last time we ordered the teriyaki chicken on a stick was old and so I'm tough it could have been used as a dog chew like a bully stick! The fried rice was dried out! The crab Rangoon barely had any filling in them, basically over cooked folded wontons. It was just GROSS! I'll be ordering from China King from now on! Thanks but no thanks!!!
This is one of the very few Chinese restaurants in the area that is not a buffet. The food came out fast and was hot and fresh! Definitely one of the better Chinese restaurants we have come across. Reasonably priced and food is better than all the lukewarm buffet styles that are off of 59.
Sea N Suds
Outside seating was a nice option. Waitress was attentive. They had Heineken available and local IPA. The Royal Reds were actually good despite having eyes still attached (it’s a me thing, sorry). The seasoning was not overwhelming. It was a super casual restaurant. A few had swim suits on right from the beach. The restaurant itself is behind Boardwalk hotel and not easily spotted from a busy road. Additionally, the parking is across the street which would have also been handy to know ahead of time. I turned into two wrong parking lots before seeing the sign for the Sea n’ Suds parking amongst the moving traffic. Mostly the Royal Reds were impressive and the price was very reasonable so if you like that sort of seafood I recommend a visit.
Had a party of 4 in town for the Oyster Festival. Came to SnS by recommendation of some good friends. They were very crowded - but didn’t disappoint. Between the 4 of us, we ordered 2 dz raw oysters, Appetizer Sampler, 2 lbs of crab claws, Crab & Cheese bites and some Gumbo. Everything was awesome - but gumbo was the best. 💪🙌
De Soto's Seafood Kitchen
Yum! Such a great place with lots of options and very reasonably priced! It didn’t take long to get a table and the waitress was amazing! Homemade rolls were on point!
Ava is super cute, personable and attentive to our lunch needs!!! The food was great and the atmosphere was very fun and pleasant. My daughter loved the rolls and my wife enjoyed the gumbo! We will be back often! Love DeSoto’s Seafood restaurant!
Shrimp Basket
Came in for my wife's birthday. We got seated really quick... great!!! Then we ordered drinks and appetizer. Got them in good timing. Order food with restaurant hardly busy... waited 2 almost 3 hours for a seadoo broil for 2. Got told Togo orders came in and ours pushed back due to a steamer issue.... It's not too cool, considering I come in really often. Ended up getting the food to go. No sausage.
We recently visited Shrimp Basket for the first time, and unfortunately, our experience was not ideal. The host made us feel like we were a bother, which set a negative tone from the start. Our server was polite but could have been more attentive and efficient. As for the food, it was just okay. The shrimp basket we ordered was decent but didn’t stand out in any way. Overall, our visit was average. We hope for improvements in both service and food quality in the future.
CANTINA LA LUZ
Best Mexican food of my life! The portions were truly titanic - the owner proudly told us that no one has ever eaten the entire burrito supreme and I was no exception. The owner was so enthusiastic and made us feel like we made his day and he made ours with the excellent food. The selections of special home made hot sauces were great as we're all fans of the heat, and the horchata is a must!! Couldn't be a friendlier place.
Best Mexican food I've had. Would rate 6/5 if possible, blows the competition out of the water. The owner and the service is amazing, bought us out various homemade sauces to try and more. Birria tacos are fantastic, highly recommend those. The portion size is massive too, had to take home half the food in boxes.
Crico's Pizza & Subs
Excellent pizza! It came to my table piping hot and bubbly. Perfect amount of toppings and cheese. The crust was crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside, just the way I like it. The restaurant was very clean. The staff were all friendly and helpful. This place is nothing fancy, just a hometown pizza joint! Highly recommend!!
We did pick up on our last night of vacation. BUY THIS PIZZA! I’m a pizza connoisseur! This is a ten. Gluten free was good! I personally SLAMMED half a large of pep, mush and banana peppers. SO good and the people there were busting their behinds to get the orders out, correctly the first time.
Bahama Bob's Beach Side Cafe
The crab legs were amazing! We also shared the grilled shrimp and scallops which were also good. May have to stop back in before we leave town! Jaci was our Server and offered great suggestions. She was very attentive on a busy night!
We’ve been coming to Gulf Shores for years but have never eaten at Bahama Bobs. We have been missing out! We ordered the pound of fried crab claws and they were scrumptious and a hefty pound. In addition, my husband ordered the fried shrimp poboy and it was phenomenal. It was hot and fresh and had an abundance of shrimp on it. I ordered the steamed crab leg/royal red shrimp platter and it gets 10+ stars from me. It was seasoned perfectly and the royal reds were the best I have EVER eaten and so clean! We will be back but tonight, we’ll be eating our leftovers because they give so much food. Our server was very attentive and friendly also.
